  • We are exposed to video content and numerous information from digital signage such as convenience stores, coffee shops, restaurants, and elevators on buses and subways 365 days. However, so far, studies have focused solely on the technical effectiveness of digital signage or the consumer experience aspect of digital signage, and little has been done on the impact of teaser advertising on the intent of viewing. Through this study, we hope that the digital signage of convenience stores will develop into a differentiated digital signage area that provides diverse video content experiences to consumers and viewers and allows them to communicate, suggesting a direction as a research that shows that digital content (video) is now recognized as a product in an environment where demand for non-face-to-face and digital content is gradually increasing in 2020 after the global COVID 19.

  • Purpose - Previous studies on the influence of appeal types of advertising messages on pro-social behavior have shown inconsistent results. The purpose of this study is to examine whether the appeal type of advertising affects consumer's prosocial behavior. In particular, the authors investigated whether the social exclusion moderates the relationship between the appeal type of advertising and prosocial behavior. Research design, data and Methodology - To verify the hypothesis, two experimental study were conducted. The experimental study was 2(appeal type : self-benefit vs. other-benefit) by 2(social exclusion : being ignored vs. being rejected) between-subject design. Participants were randomly assigned to one of four conditions. The experiment was conducted using a computer. First, the participants was exposed to the advertising image used in the social campaign, and then responded to questions about social behavior. The participants completed the experiment after further responding to the item for manipulation check and demographic measure. The experiment took about 10 minutes in total. Results - In Study 1, a global warming campaign with participation intention variable, other-benefit ads rather than self-benefit ads drive consumers who feel socially rejected to be more willing and likely to participate, but consumers who feel socially ignored are more likely to participate the campaign in self-benefit ad than other-benefit ad. Study 2 replicates the findings, a child poverty relief campaign with an amount-to-donate variable: consumers who feel explicitly rejected allocate more dollars to the charity in response to other-benefit rather than self-benefit ads, but consumers who being ignored are willing to donate more money. Conclusion - This study has theoretical contribution in that it expands existing theories by explaining the existing inconsistent results of the message appeal influence on pro-social behavior through new control variables. In addition, the results have important managerial implications, suggesting marketers should tailor their marketing message to match the consumer situation.

In the new techno-economic paradigms, I would ultimately consider how spatial structures of a knowledge-based service industry have been altered dynamically. To delve into this background, this study conducts an empirical case study of the internet advertising industry, particularly, among the whole advertising industry. Therefore, the primary objective of this study is to identify dynamic characteristics of spatial networks among actors for knowledge creation in Korea's internet advertising industry. In addition, it also is to analyze the formative elements of spatial networks which would have an influence on constructing the space of new economic activities. There are multilateral approaches. This research is classified into types of actors such as inter-firm, intra-firm, and firm-customer, and categorized according to spatial ranges such as local, regional, global levels. In the meanwhile, formative factors of the spatial networks could draw a conclusion from two aspects: inter-firm networks in the process of business in the internet advertising industry, and individual networks in the nonoccupational aspect. Accordingly, the results of this study suggest that actors' networks of two perspectives would make mutually complementary relationships and create new relational spaces in the digital economy.

  • This study conducted a comparison analysis on the difference in the subjectivity structure of Korean and Chinese consumers based on their types of perception on advertisements of automobiles which has a high degree of self interest. The primary reason for conducting a comparison study of Korean and Chinese consumers was to concretize the characteristics of Chinese consumers who have enormous potential and rapid growth in the global market. In addition, by comparing the characteristics of Korean and Chinese consumers that changed with differences in social systems and socio-economic characteristics, the purpose was to present an advertising strategy idea that is useful for both countries. Furthermore, when taking into consideration the reality that the world must compete in a single market commonly referred to as the global market, understanding the subjectivity structure of perception of Korean and Chinese consumers is critical in establishing a strategy for occupying the upper position of dominance in such competition. Based on the results of the study, subjectivity structures on the perception of advertisements possessed by Korean and Chinese consumers of the same Asian culture differed but were mutually interrelated. Such results suggest that there is a need for further studies of generalization and objectification through a quantitative approach.
