The objectives of this study were to evaluate the tensile strength of resin-infiltrated demineralized dentin according to the demineralization time, and to evaluate the tensile strength of hybrid layer that is formed by infiltrating different priming adhesives or primer/adhesive into demineralizd dentin matrix. Seventy five hour-glass shaped dentin specimens were prepared in mid-coronal dentin from extracted human molars. Thirty specimens were distributed into three groups according to demineralization time - 2 hours, 4 hours and 8 hours. Each specimen was placed in primer/adhesive of All-Bond 2 for 5 hours of infiltration. Another forty-five specimens of them were demineralized in 37% phosphoric acid for 4 hours. They were randomly assigned to three experimental groups - AB, SB and OS - to designate All-Bond 2, Single Bond and One-Step. Each specimen was placed in one of three different adhesives for 5 hours of infiltration. The specimens were visible light-cured for 5 minutes, and then stored for 24 hours in distilled water at $37^{\circ}C$. After that, microtensile bond strength for each specimen was measured, and the fractured surfaces were then observed by SEM. The data were statistically analysed by one-way ANOVA and Tukey's multiple comparison test and Bonferroni's multiple comparison test. The results were as follows; 1. Tensile strength of the group demineralized for 4 hours was significantly higher than that of groups demineralized for 2 hours and 8 hours (P < .01). 3. Tensile strength of the AB group was significantly higher than that of the SB group and OS group (P < .01).
The purpose of this study was to compare the marginal fit of all ceramic crowns prepared from alumina slip casting, which is consistent with the conventional In-ceram system, and those fabricated from alumina tapes which is currently under development in an effort to alleviate complexities involved in the forming procedure of the In-ceram crown core. All ceramic crowns, made of In-ceram(slip casting) and alumina tapes(Doctor blade casting), were prepared with $90^{\circ}\;and\;135^{\circ}$ shoulder margins. The crowns were cemented with a glass ionomer cement and embeded in epoxy resin. The embedded crowns were sectioned faciolingually and mesiodistally and marginal discrepancies and marginal gaps were measured under the Measurescope MM II. The measurements were analyzed using Wilcoxon rank sum test and Kruskal-Wallis test and the results were as follows: 1. In the case of $90^{\circ}$ shoulder margin, the combined marginal discrepancies and marginal gaps were $78.3{\mu}m\;and\;44.4{\mu}m$ respectively, for the all ceramic crowns fabricated using the alumina tapes. In comparison, the values were $65{\mu}m\;and\;25.5{\mu}m$ for the In-ceram crowns. For the marginal gaps a statistical difference existed (p<0.05) but no significant difference was observed for the marginal discrepancy (p>0.05). 2. In the case of $135^{\circ}$ shoulder margin, the combined marginal discrepancy and marginal gaps were $82.1{\mu}m\;and\;40.2{\mu}m$ respectively, for the all ceramic crowns formed with the tapes. As compared with the marginal discrepancy and gaps of the $90^{\circ}$ shoulder margin in the fabricated from the alumina tapes, no significant statistical differencies were discerned in both cases (p>0.05). 3. There was no statistically significant difference in the fits among four locations around the margins of the all ceramic crowns fabricated using the alumina tapes. The results obtained in this study showed that the marginal fits of the glass infiltrated alumina cores fabricated from the alumina tapes are slightly higher value than those prepared using the In-ceram but the difference is within a clinically acceptable range.
Silicone structural glazing (SSG) is a method utilizing a silicone adhesive to attach glass, metal, or other panel material to the structure of a building. Windload and other impact loads on the facade are transferred from the glass or panel through the silicone structural sealant to the systems' framework. Silicone structural glazing systems are currently a very common method of glazing throughout the world. Locally, structural silicone glazing has become very common to achieve aesthetically pleasing and high utilization of small land for both residential and commercial building. Although structural silicone glazing has been utilized for approximately thirty years in Korea, the understanding of its technology was low and limited. Consequently, Korean projects experienced many quality issues during assembly and construction, even in very recently finished buildings. Adhesion loss and water infiltration occurred on more than one project, and the time and cost to repair these issues were substantial. In general, there are two kinds of structural silicones depending on fabrication methods. 1part structural silicone is for site glazing system and 2part structural silicone is for unitized factory glazing system. In this paper, 2part structural silicone which is very common for factory fabricating curtainwall systems was evaluated with regards to various mixing ratio. Since the structural performance of 2part sealant can be affected by mixing ratios, some extra ranges of recommended mixing ratio were evaluated to see any performance differences. Besides on cure profile, comparative evaluations for mechanical properties and adhesion develop on common building substrates were conducted.
Al2O3/metal composites were fabricated by oxidation and reaction of molten Al-alloy into two types of commercial Al2O3-SiO2 fibrous insulation board. The growth rate, composition and microstructure of these materials were described. An AlZnMg(7075) alloy was selected as a parent alloy. Mixed polycrystalline fiber and glass phase fiber were used as a filler. The growth surface of an alloy was covered with and without SiO2. SiO2 powder was employed as a surface dopant to aid initial oxidation of Al-alloy. Al-alloy, SiO2, fiber block and growth inhibitor CaSiO3 were packed sequentially in a alumina crucible and oxidized in air at temperature range 90$0^{\circ}C$ to 120$0^{\circ}C$. The growth rate of composite layer was calculated by measuring the mass increasement(g) per unit surface($\textrm{cm}^2$). XRD and optical microscope were used to investigate the composition and phase of composites. The composite grown at 120$0^{\circ}C$ and with SiO2 dopant showed rapid growth rate. The growth behavior differed a little depending on the types of fiber used. The composites consist of $\alpha$-Al2O3, Al, Si and pore. The composite grown at 100$0^{\circ}C$ exhibited better microstructure compared to that grown at 120$0^{\circ}C$.
In case of newly constructed buildings, the construction type is almost Curtain-wall system or large window in building skin. However, these kind of buildings have problems with regulations on building energy efficiency. And national regulations on building energy efficiency limit only the V-factor of window(except infiltration), it is hard to predict energy consumption of Curtain-wall buildings which gain large solar energy in summer. In this study, the influence of LSG(Light to Solar Gain) on energy performance was theoretically analyzed with simulation. LSG is the value of VLT divide SHGC and represents the optical performance of the glass or glazing. The Window & Therm program developed in LBNL was used to analyze window systems and EnergyPlus was used to building energy. Cases of glazing are three types; single coated Low-e clear glazing, tripple coated Low-e clear glazing, tripple coated Low-e tinted glazing. The results of this study are follows; 1) The building energy consumption of Alt-l, 2, 3 were about 300, 253, $259kWh/m^2{\cdot}yr$ respectively. Therefore, improvement of LSG could save the energy up to 16%. 2) The saved energy could be converted 1 billion won as annual benefit of total energy costs 3) SHGC and LSG more influence on cooling energy than heating energy in office buildings.

Intrathoracic involvement of immunoglobulin G4 (IgG4)-related disease has recently been reported. However, a subset of the disease presenting as interstitial lung disease is rare. Here, we report a case of a 35-year-old man with IgG4-related lung disease with manifestations similar to those of interstitial lung disease. Chest computed tomography showed diffuse ground glass opacities and rapidly progressive pleural and subpleural fibrosis in both upper lobes. Histological findings showed diffuse interstitial lymphoplasmacytic infiltration with an increased number of IgG4-positive plasma cells. Serum levels of IgG and IgG4 were also increased. The patient was diagnosed with IgG4-related lung disease, treated with anti-inflammatory agents, and showed improvement. Lung involvement of IgG4-related disease can present as interstitial lung disease and, therefore, should be differentiated when evaluating interstitial lung disease.
Besides genuine skin and clothes, it is called that building is third skin for us. That means the skin of buildings is the most important factor for our man-made environment. The issues in designing the building envelope include the insulation, infiltration, ventilation and bridging in windows. Getting light into the space safely and providing views to outdoor, additionally, are key things with the building envelope design. A deep-rooted preference for full view is still alive with large area of glass. Balcony expansion is legalized in apartment houses, which causes lots of environmental problems. Without balcony space, the adjacent space to unshaded window is exposed to the direct sun. A window can have many layers and the inner space can be utilized with an automatic blind system. Recently, the refurbished version of a double-glazed window system has been developed for the purpose of minimizing energy loss occurred around windows. For the better daylight control with equipped blind system, a set of adjustment technique of blind slats was tested in a mock-up building and recommended the detail operation. Not surprisingly, the optimized blind system can be oriented to enhance the uniformity in light distribution and direct glare from the sky as well..
A 47-years-old woman presented with a 2-month history of a dry mouth and dry cough. The patient had been taking medication for Sj$\ddot{o}$gren's syndrome for approximately 7 years. The chest radiography showed multiple cystic lesions and a hazy density in both lower lung fields. The HRCT showed a diffuse ground glass like appearance and multiple variable sized cystic lesions in both lung fields. After medication, the symptoms were aggravated. Bronchoscopy was preformed with a transbronchial lung biopsy. The biopsies showed an infiltration of lymphocytes, neutrophils, monocytes and histiocytes through the interstitial space of the alveola and a widening of the alveolar septa. However, the histological findings of the cysts were not obtained. Sj$\ddot{o}$gren's syndrome is a slowly progressive inflammatory autoimmune disease, which is characterized by lymphocyte mediated destruction of the exocrine glands, with pulmonary involvement in approximately 19-65%, High-resolution CT is a sensitive technique for assessing the pulmonary involvement in patients with Sj$\ddot{o}$gren's syndrome. Although a lung biopsy is not always necessary for establishing a diagnosis of an interstitial lung disease in Sj$\ddot{o}$gren's syndrome. A lung biopsy may reveal a wide spectrum of changes ranging from a mild inflammatory response to end stage fibrosis with honeycombing. Because of the predominantly peribronchiolar inflammatory infiltration and inspissated secretions the cysts were suspected to have been formed by the ball-valve phenomen. However, no definite evidence was obtained.
