  • Purpose: The purposes of this phenomenological study were to explore the experience of preterm labor. Methods: The participants were 7 women admitted to two obstetric hospitals in Kyunggi-do Province with preterm labor. Data was collected with MP3 records through individual in-depth interviews and participated observation. The data was analyzed by Giorgi(1985) method. Results: The results were divided into six categories as follows: 1) Inappropriate coping: unexpected event, overwork, lack of insight of preterm labor, 2) Burn out: multiple role, burden, role conflict. 3) Restrictions of lifestyle: uncomfortable hospital environment, wearisomeness, limitations of personal hygiene, 4) Physical discomfort: headache, flush, tremor, palpitations, 5) Psychological distress : concerns about fetus health status, fear of possible preterm delivery, lack of information, financial worries, 6) A transition to new lifestyle: share of household chores, communication with self-help group, careful lifestyle. Conclusion: The findings of this study will offer a better understanding of women's preterm labor experiences and suggest clues to nurses on how to improve the care they provide.

  • The purpose of this study was to explore the experiences of parents with amblyopic children. The data were collected from August 2018 to May 2019. This study involved semi-structured in-depth individual interviews and was analyzed in terms of Giorgi's phenomenological methodology. The participants of this study were 7 mothers with amblyopic children. Verbatim transcripts were analyzed. Four themes-clusters were identified: passing without realizing the clues of action, experiencing emotional distress, enduring the long and tough process of treatment, and making every effort to escape from amblyopia. The findings from this study provide a deep understanding of mothers'experiences of caring for amblyopic children. Based on the findings, health care providers need educational programs that include a step-by-step eye health program. In addition, compliance needs to be improved.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the meaning and structure of the experiences of 20 years old women who participated in the pregnancy recognition improvement program developed by JA Kim et al. The participants of the study were interviewed three times in total for 20 years old of 6 women. The interview period was from December 1 to December 30, 2018. The interview data were processed through the analysis and interpretation process using the phenomenological research of Giorgi method. As a result, 33 semantic units were derived, and then divided into 4 subcomponents and divided into 2 categories. After participating in the program, they tried to maintain their health, use appropriate welfare policies, and deeply consider their lives as mysterious mothers. In conclusion, this study suggests that the implementation of the pregnancy awareness improvement program for young women in a small group, more systematically and continuously, effectively implements low fertility measures in Korea.

  • This study wanted to find out what college students thought about family participated delivery and what concerns they had. To this end, eight college students aged 20 to 25 were interviewed three times. The data collection period was from March 20 to April 10, 2021. Interview materials were collected and interpreted simultaneously using the Giorgi method, a phenomenological research method. As a result of the analysis, 29 semantic units were derived, 12 subcomponents were grouped again, and five categories were formed as final components. The five categories of thoughts on the participated delivery of college students consisted of Responsibility, Happiness, Stability, Shame, and Anxiety. Based on the above meaning, college students were found to be comfortable with their families and to be more comfortable with birth happiness, while also feeling the risk of infection and shame as women. Accordingly, this study suggests that when participating in the delivery of family participation of college students who will be future parents, a systematic protocol will be established to thoroughly prepare for infection and protect women's privacy.

  • Domestic poultry are among the non-target species of exposure to fipronil, but limited information is available on the metabolic effects of fipronil exposure in avian. We investigated the comparative capacity of in vitro biotransformation of fipronil among chicken, duck, quail, goose, and rat. Interspecies differences in kinetic parameters were observed; the clearance rate calculations (Vmax/Km) indicated that chicken and duck are more efficient in the cytochrome P450-mediated metabolism of fipronil to sulfone than quail, goose and rat. The lower hepatic clearance of fipronil in quail, goose and rat, suggested that fipronil sulfone may serve as a biomarker to indicate fipronil exposure in these species.

  • This study is a phenomenological qualitative study that confirms the structure of college students' thoughts on artificial abortion. The data collection period was from 5 March to 10 April 2022. To this end, a total of three interviews were conducted on seven college students aged 20 to 25. Interview data were conducted through analysis and interpretation using the phenomenological research method, the Giorgi method, and as a result, 40 semantic units were derived, grouped into six sub-components, and divided into three categories. As a result of the analysis, college students' thoughts on artificial abortion consisted of fetal rights, respect for women's rights, and choices for a healthy life. Based on the above meaning, college students' thoughts on artificial abortion were, in conclusion, that considering the happiness of the baby and the quality of life of the woman, consideration for non-marriage mothers was more urgent than legal sanctions, and that abortion was not irresponsible. Accordingly, this study suggests that understanding and consideration for pregnant women should be prioritized over legal sanctions.

  • This study was a phenomenological study to examine the meaning and structure of the difficulty of delivery. Participants in this study conducted deep interviews with seven female 20 to 24. The interview data was conducted through the process of analysis and interpretation using the Giorgi method. As a result of study, 12 themes were derived and 4 categories. As a result of the analysis, young women's thoughts on observing delivery consisted of 'fear', 'powerlessness', 'disgust', and 'inevitable fate'. Based on the above meaning, the structure of young women's thoughts on delivery was found to be a point of view that it is regrettable that delivery compensates for all difficulties and pain with the joy of birth. Accordingly, it is proposed to develop and apply a program that can actually alleviate the anxiety, fear, and physical discomfort experienced by women in childbearing age through childbirth.

  • This study was aimed at exploring the meaning and essence of the conflict experiences of clinical dental hygienists. In-depth interviews with 13 dental hygienists working in a dental clinic were conducted. Giorgi's method was used for qualitative analysis of the data. Conflict experiences of clinical dental hygienists were categorized into four central meaning as task conflicts, interpersonal conflicts, organizational environment conflicts, and conflict management style. Participants felt more sensitive towards the attitudes of people than treatment itself. Further studies on the multifaceted approach to conflict experiences of dental hygienists should be made. Additional research is necessary to develop effective measures and program to prevent and reduce conflict and stress in the work environment of dental hygienists.

  • The study participants selected three participants in their late 40s and conducted a total of six sessions and in-depth interviews for 90 minutes to collect and analyze data using the phenomenological Giorgi research method. The conclusion according to the research results was drawn as follows. First, the shame, fear, reprimand, violence, passive attitude, and childhood that had to be adjusted seemed to maintain a stable life in the late forties, but still appeared in the present life. It was found that they showed a low self-satisfaction rather than positive satisfaction with self-concept and pursued an ideal self-image. Second, lifestyle was a time of severe depression, lethargy, and emptiness as a child, experiencing an unstable childhood due to a violent family, loss of attachment, overprotection, difficult economic conditions, and parental strife. It has been found that in the late forties, families have been established and religious life is being stabilized, and the responsibility for the family is valued. This shows how a lifestyle that gives meaning and recognizes what experience gives meaning to the childhood that one experienced. Insight into change and growth in middle-aged life, searching for and interpreting the initial recollections that they have experienced, accompanied by social and psychological changes in middle-aged men, discovering inappropriate meanings and goals and preparing for a second life in the age of 100 It is meaningful to provide.
