The purpose of this study was to investigate the physicochemical and sensory characteristics of A. scaber noodle added with A. scaber extract solution or powder. The weight of cooked noodle and noodle added with A. scaber extract solution was higher than those of the non-added noodle (control) and dried A. scaber powder added noodle. As the amount of A. scaber extract solution or powder was increased, the water absorption rate of noodle was decreased. As the amount of A. scaber solution or powder was increased, the 'L' values of noodles were decreased. Since the 'a' values of all noodles were negative and the 'b' values of all noodles were positive, the color of all noodles were determined to be yellow green. The pH of noodles were 5 to 6 in control noodles and noodles with A. scaber powder. The pH of noodle added A. scaber extract solution was lower than those of others. As amount of A. scaber extract solution or powder was increased, the elasticity of all noodles was decreased. The chewiness of noodles was the highest in noodle added A. scaber extract powder. The quality of noodle added A. scaber extract solution was the excellent among the all other noodles. This result showed that, the quality characteristics and palatability of noodle added A. scaber extract solution or powder was higher than those of control noodle.

Genome-wide association study was performed on data from 266 Hanwoo steers derived from 66 sire using bovine 10K mapping chip in Hanwoo (Korean Cattle). SNPs were excluded from the analysis if they failed in over 5% of the genotypes, had median GC scores below 0.6, had GC scores under 0.6 in less than 90% of the samples, deviated in heterozygosity more than 3 standard deviations from the other SNPs and were out of Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium for a cutoff p-value of $1^{-15}$. Unmapped and SNPs on sex chromosomes were also excluded. A total of 4,522 SNPs were included in the analysis. To test an association between SNP and QTL, GWAS for five genetic mode (additive, dominant, overdominant, recessive and codominant) was implemented in this study. Three SNPs (rs29018694, ss46526851 and rs29018222) at a threshold p< $1.11{\times}10^{-5}$ were detected on BTA12 and BTA21 for dressing percentages in codominant and recessive genetic mode. The G allele for rs29018694 has 4.9% higher dressing percentage than A allele, while the T allele for ss46526851 has 2.57 % higher dressing percentage than C allele. Therefore, rs29018694 SNP showed a bigger effect than the other two SNPs (ss46526851 and rs29018222) in this study. In conclusion, this study identifies three loci with moderate effects and many loci with infinitesimally small effect across genome in Hanwoo.
When GaAs single crystals are grown by LEC method, a serious problem is that longitudinal twins are often generated. the growth axis is changed from (100) to (221) direction by logitudinal twin. In this experiment, 3 inch GaAs single crystals, slaving (100) uonh axis, were von by LEC method. Striations and edge facets generated during crystal growth, were observed by SPW photo-etching. Relationship between striations and edge facets was studied. Instability of their generation was the cause of goneration of longitudinal twins. The shape of striations was changed with the growth conditions such as crystal diameter and melt volume. In the region of crystal edge: there was the microscopic fluctuation by the instability of melt convection. Edge facets consisting of {111} plane developed well in the region which striation were convex to the melt. Because the angle between striation and {111} edge facet decreased in that region. Longitudinal twins were generated on the crystal surface at the <111> direction which is perpendicular to the growth axis. These were generated by unstable melt convection and propagated in the crystal as crystal grew. Longitudinal twins were generated when regrowth rate was very fast after {111} edge facets were remelted. So, in order to supress the generation of longitudinal twin, abrupt change of melt convection must be prohibited.
The sliding wear behavior of Ni-base hardfacing alloy, Deloro 50, was investigated at the contact stresses of 15ksi and 30ksi under the various wear environments. In air at room temperature, Deloro 50 showed lower wear resistance than Stellite 6 even at 15ksi due to the occurrence of severe adhesive wear. This seems to be caused by the lower hardness and work- hardening rate of Deloro 50 than those of Stellite 6. In water at room temperature, Deloro 50 showed as good wear resistance as Stellite 6 at 15ksi. It was considered to be due to that water could effectively prevent metal to metal contact through contacting asperities. However, Deloro 50 showed severe adhesive wear at 30ksi in water at room temperature. It seems to be that the water could not suppress adhesion wear at 30ksi. At $300^{\circ}C$ in air, Deloro 50 exhibited higher wear resistance than Stellite 6 even at 30ksi. It was considered that the oxide glaze layers formed on wear surface during sliding, effectively prevented direct metal-to-metal contacts.
In this study, the quality stability of a kind of natural seasoning material, the mixture of enzyme treated mackerel meat and Laminaria powder during the storage was investigated by measuring the TBA(thiobarbituric acid)value, extend of browning, changes in amino nitrogen and chlorophyll a, and fatty acid composition, and the results of sensory evaluation. Addition of sodium alginates (0.08%) and calcium carbonate (0.02%) seemed effective as a binder to yield clarity of the hot water extract of the product. In results, the mixture of Laminaria powder and the enzyme treated mackerel meat added with 0.08% sodium alginate and 0.02% calcium carbonate was more stable in overall quality than the other cases of preparation. And the taste of the mixture could favorably compete with that of dried anchovy extracts.
Purpose: This study was to examine the frequency, distribution and characteristics of researches using biological measurement published from 2000 to 2004 in 10 major nursing journals in Korea, Design: Literature analysis. Method: Journals including papers using biological measurements, publishing year, research design and outcome variables were analyzed. Results: 1. Researches using biological measurement were 318(13.3%). 2. Researches using biological measurement in the Korean Academy of Nursing were highest(97papers, 17.5%) among the nursing journals. The proportion of papers using biological measurement to total number of papers was the highest in the Journal of Korean Biological Nursing Science as 77.3%(51papers). 3. The 233 papers(73.3%) were experimental researches among 318 papers using biological measurement which showed the highest proportion. 4. Patients were highest subjects of researches using biological measurement(197papers, 61.9%). 5. Blood test was most frequently used as physiological variables from 2001 to 2004. Conclusion: Researches using biological measurement of 10 Korean Nursing Journals in year 2000-year 2004 were very low. We need more researches using biological measurement to provide more objective evidence for nursing practice.

This paper presents analysis of a slot array antenna having a low side lobe level and high front-to-back ratio for a repeater system of a satellite DMB(Digital Multimedia Broadcasting) service. Antennas for this repeater system require a high gain and enough isolation to reduce interferences between signals in system. Therefore, it is necessary to suppress a side lobe level and to increase front-to-back ratio. Unlike a structure 134 by lossy microstrip lines, in this work a single cavity-backed slot antenna array using a single waveguide feed is proposed to obtain the reliability for high power handling and high radiation efficiency. The side lobe level and front-to-back ratio are enhanced with tapered array technique and an optimized vertical reflector. The measured side lobe levels in H- and E-plane are under $-33.24\;\cal{dB}$ and $-35.78\;\cal{dB}$, respectively. The front-to-back ratio over $37.84\;\cal{dB}$, and the peak gain of over $17\;\cal{dBi}$ are measured.

The purpose of this study was to investigate extract from mixed culture with Trichloloma matsutake mycelium in oriental medicine and cereal medium(OCM) to develop new material for pharmaceutical products and medicinal food for diabetes mellitus. To evaluate of hypoglycemic activity of OCM extracts, we examined the inhibitory activity of ${\alpha}$-glucosidasein OCM, blood glucose level and liver function of streptozotocin(STZ) induced diabetic rat. Experimental group was divided into 6 groups: first, it was divided into normal control group(hereafter NC group) and diabetes-induced group, and diabetes-induced group was subdivided into diabetic control group(DC group), treated by hot water extracts group(HE), ultra sonic waves, micro waves, and micro bubble extracts g roup(UE), crude polysaccharide of HE group (HEE) and crude polysaccharide of UE group(UEE) at a dose of 300mg/kg/body weight, respectively. In diabetic-induced groups, after streptozotocin was melted in 0.01M citrate buffer at 50mg/kg/body weight, when the non-fasting blood glucose levelwas 300 mg/dl or more in blood collected from the tail vein, it was regarded as diabetic induction and then such diabetic-induced experimental animals were used in this experiment. At the end of the experiment, blood glucose level increased by 4.19% in DC group but significantly decreased by 32.34%, 19.19%, 17.81% and 17.64%, respectively in UEEE, UE, HE, and HEE groups. In the cases of AST, ALT, and ALP, the experiment group treated with extracts showed significantly lowerblood glucose level than DC group. The levels of BUN and uric acid were found to be lower in the UMPM extract group(UE) than HW extract group(HE), which implies that herb medicine medium extracts in which Tricholoma matsutake mycelia were cultured are effective in reducing impaired liver function as well as high blood glucose level caused by diabetes. In addition, the administration of low temperature UMPM extracts was found to produce better results than that of high temperature hot water extracts. In this regard, it is expected that extracts from herb medicine obtained by cultivating Tricholoma matsutake mycelia will be widely used as new ingredients for foods and medicines for prevention and treatment of diabetes.

In this study, Chemical Oxygen Demand(COD) which is the measure of organic substances, Total nitrogen(T-N), Total phosphorous(T-P), Fe and Mn were analyzed in the sediments of dam reservoir. The purpose of this study were to understand the relevances among the analytical methods adopted and the applicabilities of those methods. For the determination of COD, Standard Method for the Examination of Marine Environment(SMEME) and Standard Method for the Examination of Sanitary(SMES) was used. Both method had wide dynamic range and the deviations of the values obtained by two methods were small because $KMnO_4$ method closely reflected BOD and organic substances. For the determination of T-N and T-P, Standard Method for the Examination of Food(SMEF) and Standard Method for the Examination of Sanitary(SMES) were used. Two methods for T-N were both the acid-base titration but SMES gave less T-N values than SMEF because of the differences in digestion and distillation steps. Two methods for T-P gave the comparable values after acid digestion of $HNO_3$ and $HClO_4$. The determination of heavy metals as a Fe, Mn was mainly divided to the leaching method and acid digestion method. The values obtained by leaching method were less than those by digestion method. It is thought that the condition of acid digestion was more severe than that of leaching method.
