Strategic Plan for Improvement of Citizen Service using Ubiquitous Technology on Public Area: Geospatial Web based Service (유비쿼터스 기술을 이용한 다중집합장소의 시민서비스 고도화 방안 : 지리공간 웹 기반 서비스 제공을 중심으로)

  • Enterprises as well as central and local governments have tried to apply ubiquitous technology to the actual life on the various types of business and projects. In this paper we develop strategic plan to provide public service on public areas based on needs analysis of public services as well as trend analysis of ubiquitous and web technology. Ubiquitous service model should be based on geospatial web which can incorporate participation and collaboration concepts, as the wire/wireless network system develop rapidly. To achieve this purpose, we suggest the following projects; 1), construction of internet map based on geospatial web technology, 2), development of web contents based on geospatial web, 3), installing ubiquitous equipment, and 4), upgrade Seoul Metropolitan Government's homepage and internet system which can incorporate web 2.0 concepts. Ubiquitous service model should be based on not only development of ubiquitous technology but also needs of consumer such as citizen, enterprises, and public sectors which have an interest in that place. Geospatial web will be the core of development of ubiquitous service models.

Automatic Extraction Method of Control Point Based on Geospatial Web Service (지리공간 웹 서비스 기반의 기준점 자동추출 기법 연구)

  • This paper proposes an automatic extraction method of control point based on Geospatial Web Service. The proposed method consists of 3 steps. 1) The first step is to acquires reference data using the Geospatial Web Service. 2) The second step is to finds candidate control points in reference data and the target image by SURF algorithm. 3) By using RANSAC algorithm, the final step is to filters the correct matching points of candidate control points as final control points. By using the Geospatial Web Service, the proposed method increases operation convenience, and has the more extensible because of following the OGC Standard. The proposed method has been tested for SPOT-1, SPOT-5, IKONOS satellite images and has been used military standard data as reference data. The proposed method yielded a uniform accuracy under RMSE 5 pixel. The experimental results proved the capabilities of continuous improvement in accuracy depending on the resolution of target image, and showed the full potential of the proposed method for military purpose.

  • In Web2.0 environment, with advanced platform technologies, global vendors such as Google, Microsoft and Yahoo provide competitive geospatial services based on global map and satellite image. But the relatively low level of platform technologies has not rapidly increased the land information and geospatial service markets in Korea. For the ubiquitous next generation Internet, as a one of the R&D projects by Korean Land Spatialization Group, the project for platform technologies has being made to provide customized land information and geospatial service. The platform technologies can be categorized for streamming, mashup and geosearch. More specifically, the 2D/3D Hybird streamming engine, mashup engine for u-GIS service and next generation search engine for land information have being developed. In this context, the strategies for efficient development and use of geoweb platform technologies are required. This study surveys the present geospatial products and services using of platform technologies to propose the strategies for efficient development and use of platform technologies. The strategies for efficient development and use of platform technologies can be proposed focusing on target market and each of platform technologies.

  • In this paper, we propose the application models and strategies of geospatial services registries for SOA in GIS web services. Recently. a number of SOA/web services are being developed for various commercial or public applications. However, geospatial SOA services are less used than general purpose SOA services, because GeoSpatial service registries has been neglected in many GIS applications even though GeoSpatial registries are essential component for open geospatial services. These problems are due to lack of researches for GIS registry usages. In this paper, we define the role player ill GIS SOAs, and develop the various GIS web service models among the players. Besides, we suggest the applications strategies of GeoSpatial services registries in the service models.

Value Chain Analysis of Geospatial Web Service for VGI Application (사용자 참여형 공간정보 웹서비스의 가치사슬분석)

  • The fact that the limits of information recency, diversity, and usability are mainly caused by the supply oriented geospatial data and service development is commonly recognized. It is recently tried to overcome the limits by facilitating user experience and VGI(Volunteered Geographic Information) in several geospatial web services. This study suggests 10C framework of geospatial web service for VGI through review and examination of previous research. Based on the 10C framework, the value chain system of 23 use cases relevant to the geospatial web service involving the creation of user's VGI is investigated. The result of the value chain analysis is applied to examine and formulate the strategies to generate value addition from public spatial information with respect to creation, aggregation, delivery, and consumption process of VGI.

  • Recently as development of internet, Service based on World Wide Web is rapidly growing. According to this, Importance for suitability of web service is emphasized by increased user with development of technique of web service. Geospatial information field included with River Geospatial information(HydroG-OneFlow) has been doing that many study about web service which center of IT, However study about test of web service is lacking of situation. Accordingly, verification should be carried out to determine the performance of Web services with the Web services implementation HydroG-OneFlow. Performance & stability test are verified that HydroG-OneFlow for Apache Jmeter of open source and conformability & interoperability test are verified for StyleCop. Result of performance is that if users are increase the number of 500, average responses time is about two seconds. and Result of reliability is that if users are increase the number of 500, decrease about 0.2%. it is verified that conformability and interoperability test to swelled about reliability of HydroG-OneFlow. Through that It will be compensate for the implementation of seb service and vulnerability of HydroG-OneFlow.

  • Researchers require repetitive works such as data format analysis, reformatting and map reprojection in order to use geospatial data. To solve above problems, they are building web-based simulation systems with web developers. But the web-based systems are not efficiently developed because there is not the appropriate simulation framework for a web-based system using geospatial data. In this study, the geospatial simulation framework that can be effectively applied to the web-based system was designed and proposed. Also, the framework was composed of 7 modules; web mapping service, GIS mapping, statistics, model, processing,graphics, and geospatial datasets. In order to evaluate the effectiveness of the framework, a case study of urban growth has been verified. Experts who are not specialized in geospatial information disciplines expect to build easily a web-based system using geospatial data.

  • Recently, the utilization of geospatial open platforms has been constantly increased and the interest in 3D geospatial data such as terrain, building and shopping mall has been increased significantly. In particular, rather than simplified 3D geospatial data, interest in high-precision 3D geospatial data which similarly represents the real world objects has increased significantly. In order to satisfy the demand for such the high-precision 3D geospatial data, various kinds of 3D geospatial open platforms has been developed and has provided services on the web. However, most of the 3D geospatial open platforms have been used plug-in module in order to ensure a fast 3D rendering performance on the web, despite the many problems such as difficulty of the installation, no supporting of cross browser/operating system and security issues. In addition, recently, the existing 3D geospatial open platforms based on plug-in module are facing a serious problem, by declaring the NPAPI service interruption in Chrome and Firefox browsers. In this study, we presents the design and implementation of a new 3D geospatial open platform based on HTML5/WebGL technology without the use of plug-ins. Such the new 3D geospatial open platform based on HTML5/WebGL may support cross browsers such as IE, Chrome, Firefox, Safari and cross OS platforms such as Windows, Linux, Mac and mobile OS platforms.

A Study on Analysis and Development of Geo-Spatial Collaboration Platform (공간정보 기반의 협업지원플랫폼 분석 및 구축)

It is recently tried to overcome the limits by facilitating user experience and VGI(Volunteered Geographic Information) in several geospatial web services. This study suggests conceptual architecture and service scenario for geospatial collaborative platform prototype through review and examination of previous researches. The prototype, composed of 4 unit modules: 3D POI Creation Module, 3D POI Application Module, 3D POI/Event Management Module, 3D POI/Event Monitoring Module, provides the capability of collaboratively dealing with geospatial work. The suggested service scenario is demonstrated by developing prototype for the service modules.

  • In general, Digital Photogrammetry is based on independent workstation system, which is costly and has complex process. In this research, a new approach method regarding Digital Photogrammetry procedure is suggested using Web Processing Service, which is a GIS standard proposed by Open Geospatial Consortium. For the experiment, many Generic Processes were defined through WPS profiling procedure which defines standard unit for Photogrammetry, and with the defined process each server and client S/W module was implemented based on WPS standards. In this paper, many users can be expected to share and reuse unit process in WPS server through the web.
