surface texture denotes set of tiny repetitive geometric features on an object surface. 3D Printing can readily create a surface of controlled macro-textures of high geometric complexity. Designing surface textures for 3D Printing, however, is difficult due to complex macro-structure of the tiny texture geometry since it needs to be compatible with the non-traditioal manufacturing method. In this paper we propose a visual simulation technique involving development of a virtual model-an intermediate geometric model-of the surface texture design prior to fabricating the physical model. Careful examination of the virtual model before the actual fabrication can help minimize unwanted design iterations. The proposed technique demonstrated visualization capability by comparing the virtual model with the physical model for several test cases.
In this paper, seismic energy response of inelastic steel structures under earthquake excitations is investigated. For this purpose, a numerical procedure based on nonlinear dynamic analysis is developed by considering material, geometric and connection nonlinearities. Material nonlinearity is modeled by the inversion of Ramberg-Osgood equation. Nonlinearity caused by the interaction between the axial force and bending moment is also defined considering stability functions, while the geometric nonlinearity caused by axial forces is described using geometric stiffness matrix. Cyclic behaviour of steel connections is taken into account by employing independent hardening model. Dynamic equation of motion is solved by Newmark's constant acceleration method in the time history domain. Energy response analysis of space frames is performed by using this proposed numerical method. Finally, for the first time, the distribution of the different energy types versus time at the duration of the earthquake ground motion is obtained where in addition error analysis for the numerical solutions is carried out and plotted depending on the relative error calculated as a function of energy balance versus time.

Modern technology offers many ways to enhance teaching and learning that in turn promote the development of tools for educational activities both inside and outside the classroom. Many educational programs using the augmented reality (AR) technology are being widely used to provide supplementary learning materials for students. This paper describes the potential and challenges of using GeoGebra AR in mathematical studies, whereby students can view 3D geometric objects for a better understanding of their structure, and verifies the feasibility of its use based on experimental results. The GeoGebra software can be used to draw geometric objects, and 3D geometric objects can be viewed using AR software or AR applications on mobile phones or computer tablets. These could provide some of the required materials for mathematical education at high schools or universities. The use of the GeoGebra application for education in Laos will be particularly discussed in this paper.
Crack width is an important indicator to evaluate the health condition of the concrete structure. The crack width is measured by manual using crack width gauge commonly, which is time-consuming and laborious. In this paper, we have proposed a fast and simplified crack width quantification method via deep Q learning and geometric calculation. Firstly, the crack edge is extracted by using U-Net network and edge detection operator. Then, the intelligent decision of is made by the deep Q learning model. Further, the geometric calculation method based on endpoint and curvature extreme point detection is proposed. Finally, a case study is carried out to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method, achieving high precision in the real crack width quantification.
According to critics and architects, non-linear structure is not only an organic form of space, but also a form of space detached from modem style. Accordingly, non-linear structure can be accepted as an alternative to what has remained unsolved by deconstructionist. However, they are criticized for not clarifying the interdependent relationship between non-linearity of space and cognitive structure of human being. They ended up remaining the hypothesis just an intuitive and abstract one. This research began on the basis that their hypothesis is hard to be objectified, and it needs further inquiry. The purpose of this thesis is to explore how the redundant factors constitute non-linear structures of digital media centered space design. Geometric compositions of space structure were analyzed to define what types of redundant factors are contrived in the process of visual information. This study about the visual form, researching the Information Theory, and then offer a quantitative analysis that makes those more objective. Space structure and geometric composition were analyzed to define what types of redundancy are contrived in the process of visual information. In particular, I put higher theoretical emphasis on what characteristics are ensued in the process of structuring spaces than any other subjects. Followings are the conclusion of analysis. First, as a result of examining, we can assume that NOX' space structure is not a chaotic form, but has an operating the form of its own. Second, in case of curvilinear, the structure was found redundancy on mid deviation ratio and discontinuous circular fabric. Although most of their structures appeared complex with a higher coherent constant, they were found to be stable factors because of the low deviation ratio between systems. The amount of surplus information was stable structure as well.

Reckless development of the underground by rapid urbanization causes inspection delay on replacement of existing structure and installation new facilities. However, frequent accidents occur due to deviation in construction design planned by inaccurate location information of underground structure. Meanwhile, the electrical resistivity survey, knowns as non-destructive method, is based on the difference in the electric potential of electrodes to measure the electrical resistance of ground. This method is significantly advanced with multi-electrode and deep learning for analyzing strata. However, there is no study to quantitatively assess change in electrical resistance according to geometric conditions of structures. This study evaluates changes in electrical resistance through geometric parameters of electrodes and structure. Firstly, electrical resistance numerical module is developed using generalized mesh occurring minimal errors between theoretical and numerical resistance values. Then, changes in resistances are quantitatively compared on geometric parameters including burial depth, diameter of structure, and distance electrode and structure under steady current condition. The results show that higher electrical resistance is measured for shallow depth, larger size, and proximity to the electrode. Additionally, electric potential and current density distributions are analyzed to discuss the measured electrical resistance around the terminal electrode and structure.

A single slab concrete pavement has been modeled and analyzed by ABAQUS program. The stress and displacement of the JCP slab under traffic load with frictionless contact interaction between slab and base calculated by ABAQUS program have been compared with the results obtained by KENSLABS program. The results of the stresses of the two modeling show similar tendency and the difference of the two modeling is very small however the results of the displacement of the two modeling show some dissimilarity. In order to analyze the effects of material and geometric properties on the responses of slab, some varying parameters were chosen as input for the modeling. The changing parameters include the thickness and elastic modulus of the concrete slab, the thickness and elastic modulus of base and the elastic modulus of the subgrade. The contact interaction between the slab and base layer had been also studied and different friction coefficient 0, 2.5, 6.6, 7.5, 8.9 had been used to simulate the different friction interface condition. The results of the analysis showed that the responses of the concrete slab vary with the material and geometric properties of the pavement structure and the slab-base friction condition.
Weyl structure can be viewed as generalizations of Riemannian metrics. We study Weyl structures which are critical points of the squared L$^2$ norm functional of the full curvature tensor, defined on the space of Weyl structures on a compact 4-manifold. We find some relationship between these critical Weyl structures and the critical Riemannian metrics. Then in a search for homogeneous critical structures we study left-invariant metrics on some solv-manifolds and prove that they are not critical.
In this paper we give a complete classification of real hyper-surfaces in complex two-plane Grassmannians $G_2({\mathbb{C}}^{m+2})$ with commuting structure Jacobi operator $R_{\xi}$ and another geometric condition.
