In this paper, we propose a new method for template matching, patch ratio, to inpaint unknown pixels. Before this paper, many inpainting methods used sum of squared differences(SSD) or sum of absolute differences(SAD) to calculate distance between patches and it was very useful for closest patches for the template that we want to fill in. However, those methods don't consider about geometric similarity and that causes unnatural inpainting results for human visuality. Patch ratio can cover the geometric problem and moreover computational cost is less than using SSD or SAD. It is guaranteed about finding the most similar patches by Cauchy-Schwarz inequality. For ignoring unnecessary process, we compare only selected candidates by priority calculations. Exeperimental results show that the proposed algorithm is more efficent than Criminisi's one.
When structures are constructed by welding, heat conduction brings welding deformation. This is accompanied by complicated mechanical phenomenon such as material nonlinear and geometric nonlinear behavior. Hitherto, the research of welding deformation has been accomplished by an analytical method and experimental data in Korea. In this paper, the computer program by F.E.M.(finite element method) which could analyze the deformation of thin plate considering phenomena(both material and geometric nonlinear behavior) has been developed and verified. The production mechanism and characteristics in the welding deformation of plate are studied by the results.

VTR(Video Tape Recorder) has very complicated mechanisms composed of various cams, links, gears and so on. To satisfy kinematic requirements of VTR components, various geometric constraints between rigid bodies and a translational cam design program are developed. Mechanisms of VTR are divided into functional groups like a control part, a loading part and a tape guide part. Each group is modeled for kinematic and dynamic analysis. Finally, all groups are combined together for a complete VTR model and loads required for each function of VTR controls are studied. Detailed description of developed programs are presented and result are discussed.

This paper presents a method to measure tile position and orientation of a prismatic polyhedral object (of unknown width, length, height, and number of vertices) using machine vision. The width, length, and origin of workplace where an object is lying are defined as Preliminary operation. The edges of an object are detected from captured image using least sum of square error. The information of an object is determined from the geometric relationships between edges. As an user interface, a versatile image processing program is developed in several modules, and renders a very useful 3D measurement at a limited constraints when adopted in automation of production process. The flexibility of camera position from the algorithm developrf can be used for automated pick and place operations and feeding workpiece u: ;ing assembly robot.

In this study, an explicit transient analysis program considering material and geometric nolinearities has been developed and used to analyze the dynamic behaviors of circular, parabolic, sinusoidal and catenary arches according to the change of shapes and boundary conditions. To understand dynamic behaviors of arches, first of all, the results of free vibration analysis for four kinds of arches are discussed. The results of transient analysis under impact loads we discussed in respect of boundary condition, change of height, and arch-shape. The dynamic behaviors of arches by nonlinear transient analysis considering both material and geometric nolinearities are also discussed.

A suspension bridge with long span is distinguished by aesthetic point of view, but it is difficult to analyze the structural behaviors due to its geometric nonlinear characteristics. Futhermore, because the chance of design such special bridges is very rare, the assumption of initial dimensions of geometrical shapes and structural sections may be much difficult also. In this paper, the brief data base on the important structural dimensions of suspension bridges is constructed after the informations on existing suspension bridges are collected and classified from various texts and internet web sites. Therefore this data base may be utilized very easily by the designers who tries to design such bridges in the preliminary design step. Also the static geometric nonlinear analysis program is added to assist the designer in simple decision of safety check for assumed dimensions.
Digital surface model generation from IKONOS stereo imagery is a new challenge in photogrammetric community, especially when the satellite company does not provide the raw data as well as their ancillary ephemeris data. In this paper we utilized an estimated relief displacement azimuth and the nominal collection elevation data included in the metadata file to correct the relief displacement of GCPs, together with a linear transformation for geometric modeling of IKONOS imagery. Space intersection is performed by the trigonometric intersection assuming a parallel projection of IKONOS imagery due to its small FOV and frame size. In the experiment, less than 2-meters of RMSE in orbit modeling is achieved denoting the potential positioning accuracy of the IKONOS stereo imagery.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to apply a newly developed free software program, at low cost and with minimal time, to evaluate the quality of dental and maxillofacial cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) images. Materials and Methods: A polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) phantom, CQP-IFBA, was scanned in 3 CBCT units with 7 protocols. A macro program was developed, using the free software ImageJ, to automatically evaluate the image quality parameters. The image quality evaluation was based on 8 parameters: uniformity, the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR), noise, the contrast-to-noise ratio (CNR), spatial resolution, the artifact index, geometric accuracy, and low-contrast resolution. Results: The image uniformity and noise depended on the protocol that was applied. Regarding the CNR, high-density structures were more sensitive to the effect of scanning parameters. There were no significant differences between SNR and CNR in centered and peripheral objects. The geometric accuracy assessment showed that all the distance measurements were lower than the real values. Low-contrast resolution was influenced by the scanning parameters, and the 1-mm rod present in the phantom was not depicted in any of the 3 CBCT units. Smaller voxel sizes presented higher spatial resolution. There were no significant differences among the protocols regarding artifact presence. Conclusion: This software package provided a fast, low-cost, and feasible method for the evaluation of image quality parameters in CBCT.
The diffusion expressive power means the flexibility of which creative power test spheres(fluency, originality) by Torrance is ability making the considerations, thoughts and concepts to the meaningful symbolic change. This study is willing to develop and improve program toward the diffusion expressive power and is to testify training effect of the students are majoring design with the object. The training programs composed of six levels which is based on the theory of Eskild Tjalve. And the parameters of each levels are element, function, number, arrangement, form geometric, size and have to practice 2 weeks at once by 12 weeks. For successful measuring the effective results of this study, 40 undergraduate junior students in the department of design are grouped to excercise with experimental pilot group and regulated group. The standard type of creative paper is used to evaluate the results of student's training. This study give proof that creative power of the experimental pilot and under training group is higher than the regulated and under comparison group at in the conclusion.

Dynamic loading of structures often causes excursions of stresses well into the inelastic range and the influence of geometric changes on the dynamic response is also significant in many cases. Therefore, both material and geometric nonlinearity effects should be considered in case that a dynamic load acts on the structure. For developing a program to analyze the dynamic response of an axisymmetric shell in this study, the material nonlinearity effect on the dynamic response was formulated by the elasto-viscoplastic model highly corresponding to the real behavior of the material. Also, the geometrically nonlinear behavior is taken into account using a total Lagrangian coordinate system, and the equilibrium equation of motion was numerically solved by a central difference scheme. A complete finite element program has been developed and the results obtained by it are compared with those in the references 1 and 2. The results are in good agreement with each other. As a case study of its application, the developed program was applied to a dynamic response analysis of a nuclear reinforced concrete containment structure. The results obtained from the' numerical examples are summarized as follows : 1. The dynamic magnification factor of the displacement and the stress were unrelated with the concrete strength. 2. As shown by the results that the displacement dynamic magnification factor were form 1.7 to 2.3 and the stress dynamic magnification factor from 1.8 to 2.5, the dynamic magnification factor of stress were larger than that of displacement. 3. The dynamic magnification factor of stress on the exterior surface was larger than that on the interior surface of the structure.
