  • Products developed in this research is a software which can transfer the type of shape(.shp) into the type of ascii using the land cover data and the topography data in the metropolitan area of Seoul. In addition, it can calculate the $CO_2$ flux according to distribution of plants within the land cover data. The $CO_2$ flux is calculated by the experimental equation which is compose of the meteorological parameters such as the solar radiation and the air temperature. The net flux was shown in about $-19ton/km^2$ by removing $CO_2$ through the photosynthesis during daytime, and in 2 ton/km2 by producing it through the respiration during nighttime on 10 August 2004, the maximum day of air temperature during the period of 3yr(2001 to 2004), in the metropolitan area of Seoul. Spatial distribution of the air temperature and the wind field is simulated by substituting the middle classification of the land cover map data, upgraded by the Korean Ministry of Environment(KME), for the land-use data of the United States Geological Survey(USGS) within the Meteorological Mesoscale Model Version 5(MM5) on 10 August 2006 in the metropolitan area of Seoul. Difference of the air temperature between both data was shown in the maximum range of $-2^{\circ}C\;to\;2.9^{\circ}C$, and the air temperature due to the land use data of KME was higher than that of USGS in average $0.4^{\circ}C$. Also, those of wind vectors were meanly lower than that of USGS in daytime and nighttime. Furthermore, the hourly time series of Volatile Organic Components(VOCs) is calculated by using the Biosphere Emission and Interaction System Version 2(BEIS2) including the new land cover data and the meteorological parameters such as the air temperature and so]ar insolation. It is possible to calculate the concentration of ozone due to the biogenic emission of VOCs.

  • This study analyzed and modeled the relationships between the probabilities of two exotic species occurrence (i.e. largemouth bass and blue gill) and environmental factors such as climatic and geographical variables using Generalized Additive Models (GAM), Generalized Liner Models and Classification Tree Analysis (CTA). The most moderate occurrence probability of largemouth bass was predicted using GAM with an area under the curve (ADC) of 0.88 and Kappa of 0.42, while those of blue gill was suggested by using CTA with an AUC of 0.92 and Kappa of 0.44. The most significant environmental variable in terms of changes in deviance for both species was the annual air temperature for the occurrence probability. Dams had stronger effect on the occurrence of largemouth bass than blue gill. Model development and prediction for the occurrence probability of fish species and richness are necessary to prevent further spread of exotic fishes such as largemouth bass and blue gill because they can threaten habitats of native river ecosystem through various mechanisms.

  • A feng-shui map(山圖) represents the most ideal natural landform on a map of feng-shui space model, highlighting propitious spots and grave sites in terms of feng-shui. This study made an analysis into feng-shui maps featured in the Chinese feng-shui manual Jiriinjasuji published in the Ming dynasty of China and did research on the following points regarding the traits of landform expressions: viewpoints of feng-shui maps, perspective points, center-oriented maps, double map scales, mountain theories, detailed expressions of propitious spots, etc. The major characteristics of landform expressions in the Chinese feng-shui manual Jiriinjasuji are as follows: the viewpoint technique was aerial one; the maps were center-oriented, that is to say, the center of grave sites or propitious spot was depicted in detail; and often the important terrains around grave sites were exaggerated or delete compared with real landforms. In addition, other vital landforms not observed from grave sites were depicted with viewpoints moved and were represented in greater details' The part of mountain theories had the following points as their main subject matter: geographical locations, overall orientations of mountain ranges, topographical traits, grave seat directions, surrounding terrains and extent of fortune-bringing. The directions of the maps were relative and there was no definite concept of scales. But, there are many cases where the maps made use of the double scale technique when expressing the terrains that have propitious space, logistical cities or directional importance. Furthermore, they often utilized multiple scale in expressing near views, mid-range views and distant views.

  • Starch gel electrophoretic studies using 24 populations of five Korean Orostachys species were conducted to investigate allozyme variation and to test hypotheses of systematic relationships among species. The resulting phenogram showed that the populations of five Korean Orostachys species were divided into two major groups. And they were concordant with molecular and morphological data in suggesting that Orostachys was divided into two groups corresponding to the subsect. Appendiculatae and subsect. Orostachys. The low genetic identities among Korean Orostachys species indicated that the species of Orostachys have diverged gradually through the model of geographical species. Comparing the previous genetic data from the species with similar life history and mode of reproduction, most of Korean Orostachys species revealed a significant low genetic variation, while the widespread O. japonicus showed a relatively high genetic variation among the Korean species. This kind of genetic variation pattern might be the results of the isolated habitats, limited numbers of individuals within the populations, destruction of habitats, inbreeding and asexual reproduction in Korean Orostachys populations. The Jungdongjin population (POP 21) of O. malocophyllus was genetically unrelated with remaining populations of the same species, and this interpretation was consistent to the results from the previous palynological and morphological studies. Our allozyme data supported the taxonomic treatment of recently proposed taxa, O. iwarenge (Makino) Hara for. magnus and O. margaritifolius.

  • Students receiving plan is not based on short-term indicators, such as student-centered, student-induced factor to address school needs new complaint, it is necessary to establish the school in the center of a long-term (30 years) perspective. Therefore, analysis of Cheongju students can examine the entire 30 years of the elementary school in this study are as follows: First, given the increasing number of students in seven models and presented the case to its types. Second, considering the geographical characteristics and the development of regional characteristics classify 55 elementary Schools in Cheongju City by dividing the number of students increase or decrease trend to 10 zones the results are as follows: Students Number increasing school group of 4 schools, 15 schools students Number fell in shot Term, the Students Number dropped in middle Term 26 schools, 10 was a small school. In particular, it is urgently necessary to establish measures for these small schools. Third, despite the reduced number of students indicated in the analysis result, caused the social conflict factors by excessive new school requirements. It also caused a number of students from schools when the Curve of Students Number are to remain flat or decline. It shows that no additional new demand of School in the region. Fourth, the number of students increasing trend forecasting model

  • In this paper, an efficient call control procedure is presented for next generation wireless ATM networks and its performance is mathematically analyzed using the open queueing network. This procedure is based on a new scheme called as the cell clustering. When we use the cell clustering scheme, at the time that a mobile connection is admitted to the network, a virtual cell is constructed by choosing a group of neighboring base stations to which the call may probabilistically hand over and by assigning to the call a collection of virtual paths between the base stations. Within a microcell/picocell environment, it is seen that the cell clustering can support effectively a very high rate of handovers, provides very high system capacity, and guarantees a high degree of frequency reuse over the same geographical region without requiring the intervention of the network call control processor each time a handover occurs. But since mobiles, once admitted, are free to roam within the virtual cell, overload condition occurs in which the number of calls to be handled by one base station to exceed that cell site's capacity of radio channel. When an overload condition happens, the quality of service is abruptly degraded. We refer to this as the overload state and in order to quantify the degree of degradation we define two metrics, the probability of overload and the normalized average time spent in the overload state. By using the open network queueing model, we derive closed form expressions for the maximum number of calls that can be admitted into the virtual cell such that the two defined metrics are used as the acceptance criteria for call admission control.

  • In North Korea, hydropower which occupies about 63% of power generation is a major electric power source, and North Korea has many advantages in the geographical for developing hydroelectric power. In this study, Information on the basin and dam capacity for 33 potential development site of hydroelectric dam was analyzed using DEM, and potential annual power generation was estimated by applying results of long-term runoff simulation with MWSWAT model for recent 30-year. The potential annual power generation at 33 dam was estimated to be about 28% of the current hydroelectric power in North Korea. In addition, a priority of dam development in each province was assessed by estimating the scale of an industry and prospecting the population change in the future. And a priority for dam development within the province was estimated based on the dam capacity and the potential annual power generation. The priority of each province was ranked in order of Pyeongannamdo, Hamgyungnamdo, Hamgyungbukdo, Hwanghaebukdo, Pyeonganbukdo, Jagangdo, Ryanggangdo, Hwanghaenamdo, and Gangwondo. The results of this study can be used as an initial review data for advancing to hydropower development project in North Korea.

  • There exist various difficulties in runoff analysis due to many ungauged basins in Korea and the runoff phenomena is also more and more complicated by the change of geologic characteristics due to the urbanization. So, we use GIS technique which is widely used in hydrologic field and cell runoff concept for the fast and effective runoff simulation. This study uses the observations of 6 stage stations in Wi-Cheon watershed and simulates the watershed parameters by using WMS model. We construct DEM by the grids which are consisted based on the criteria of minimum area according to land use. The cell runoff is estimated by an average weighted method using mean annual streamflow and mean maximum daily streamflow obtained from six stage stations. The runoff ratio at arbitrary site is estimated by conducting the direction analysis of streamflow and by removing sinkhole. We compare the simulated and observed runoffs and know that the simulated runoff shows the valid results. So, we could use the geographical information and cell runoff concept for more fast and effective runoff simulation studies.

  • Toxocara vitulorum has been rarely reported in yaks at high altitudes and remote areas of Sichuan Province of Tibetan Plateau of China. The current study was designed to investigate the prevalence, associated risk factors, and phylogenetic characteristics of T. vitulorum in yak calves on the Qinghai Tibetan plateau. Fecal samples were collected from 891 yak calves and were examined for the presence of T. vitulorum eggs by the McMaster technique. A multivariable logistic regression model was employed to explore variables potentially associated with exposure to T. vitulorum infection. T. vitulorum specimens were collected from the feces of yaks in Hongyuan of Sichuan Province, China. DNA was extracted from ascaris. After PCR amplification, the sequencing of ND1 gene was carried out and phylogenetic analyses was performed by MEGA 6.0 software. The results showed that 64 (20.1%; 95% CI 15.8-24.9%), 75 (17.2; 13.8-21.1), 29 (40.9; 29.3-53.2), and 5 (7.6; 2.5-16.8) yak calves were detected out to excrete T. vitulorum eggs in yak calve feces in Qinghai, Tibet, Sichuan, and Gansu, respectively. The present study revealed that high infection and mortality by T. vitulorum is wildly spread on the Qinghai Tibetan plateau, China by fecal examination. Geographical origin, ages, and fecal consistencies are the risk factors associated with T. vitulorum prevalence by logistic regression analysis. Molecular detection and phylogenetic analysis of ND1 gene of T. vitulorum indicated that T. vitulorum in the yak calves on the Qinghai Tibetan plateau are homologous to preveiously studies reported.

  • Purpose - The use of corporate social activities to implement the concept of corporate social responsibility enhances brand equity and attitude, and strengthens economic competitiveness. In areas such as mobile communications, companies take the responsibility of protecting customers and enhance the quality of the mobile communication service, helping to make an effort to obey the regulations of the public trade order and fair trade agreement, enabling a healthy society through communication with elderly living alone or youths without parents, and enhancing marketing strategies. Research design, data, and methodology - To test the hypothesis, a survey was conducted. The surveyed population includes people who use the big three mobile communication services. The survey was conducted from October 4th to October 14th, 2013. A total of 500 survey questionnaires were circulated and 483 were collected; out of these, 32 were excluded due to missing or incomprehensible information. The data was analyzed with SPSS 18.0 via frequency analysis, trust analysis, search factor analysis, relationship analysis, confirmation factor analysis using AMOS 18.0, and structural equation model analysis. Results - Research on corporate social responsibility has been frequently conducted recently. Companies are perceived as social constituents satisfying the social desires of people in addition to customer needs. Further, companies are returning profits to society to satisfy community needs, because there is greater emphasis on the social responsibilities of companies. Companies' social responsibilities should include marketing strategies and the identification of customer needs. This study shows that social service activities influence brand value, which influences customer attitudes; therefore, social service activities indirectly influence customer attitudes. In order to increase customers' purchasing intention, it is essential to improve brand image via social services and provide a distinctive quality of service. Conclusions - This research has used the purposive selection method in the empirical analysis to identify the effect of social services on brand value and customer attitude. Therefore, this study revealed that businesses, whose ultimate objective is to improve customers' purchasing intention, should promote their brand equity through corporate social responsibility activities and offer a distinct service quality. Limitations in the progress of research were found and future indications to overcome these limitations are suggested as follows. First, survey responders had a limited understanding of social responsibilities; therefore, this concept needs to be explained to people first. Second, the research was done on people who live in Daejeon; thus, it is not representative of the entire country. The research has to be repeated with people in other cities. Third, there is a limitation in the study because the purposive selection method was used on Daejeon customers. In the future, a more precise selection of the population is needed. Fourth, Daejeon has unique geographical and size characteristics. Thus, customers in Seoul and other areas may display different characteristics and research on them may reveal different findings. Therefore, again, this study has to be repeated in other areas.
