  • This study is for coordinates analysis(geocentric and rectangular coordinate) of Korean geodetic VLBI which has been operated by NGII (National Geographic Information Institute) in Republic of Korea since 2014. The purpose of this study is a fundamental research to determine the Korean geodetic datum. The VLBI data recorded from September 29th 2014 to July 31th 2017, total approximately a hundred of VLBI databases, is used to calculate daily positions and position rates. The VLBI coordinates are based on ITRF(2000,2005,2008,2014) with epochs of the first Korean VLBI observation date(September 29th 2014) and Korean Geodetic Datum(January 1st 2002). And as a results of VLBI observation, Korean VLBI coordinate movement velocity of 3.1cm/yr in the direction of $112.4^{\circ}$.

  • In the three dimensional Cartesian Coordinate System such as the satellite geodesy the relationship of the geoid and the reference ellipsoid must be known. Therefore, the determination of geoidal heights is regarded as one of the most important problem in geodesy. This paper deals with determination of astro-geodetic geoid by the spherical surface polynomials interpolation method. The data that astronomical deflection of the vertical was published by National Geography Institute is applied. The map of geoidal heights is drawn out. This shows that Tokyo Datum have influenced on Korea.

  • The objective of the present study is to establish the precision geodetic network in south Korea. The precision geodetic datum was determined based on the analysis and evaluation of the astronomic observation data observed by the National Geography Institute during the period of 1981∼1985. A proposal directions for the establishment of precision geodetic networks as well as review or analysis of current geodetic networks including the method of geodetic surveying in our country was completed.

  • With the use of world geodetic system, the UIS DB of WonJu City, which was established on Korea coordinate system becomes to face the need of coordinates transformation. However, the UIS DB of Wonju City is based on dualistic control points of Korea geodetic system, which means the coordinates system is not standardized. Therefore it is required to establish a plan for transformation into world geodetic system. For this purpose, we calculated coordinate transformation coefficients per control point data of Korea geodetic system and verified the accuracy of transformation coefficients. Through the process, we propose a plan for transforming the coordinate system of UIS DB in WonJu City, which has been based on dualistic control point data of Korea geodetic system, efficiently into the world geodetic system.

  • Many countries have changed her geodetic reference system from local system to global system because of the global network's necessity. And, also Korean geodetic reference system changed from Tokyo datum to Global geodetic reference system since 2003 as the revision of Survey Law and Korean reference ellipsoid changed from Bessel 1841 ellipsoid to GRS80. The purpose of this paper is evaluation of ellipsoid agreement before and after change due to the introduction of global geodetic reference system in Korea. For the evaluation ellipsoid agreement was analyzed using two Korean geoid model -KOGD2003 and KOBGDM33- on both ellipsoid and area variation caused by change of reference ellipsoid was calculated.

  • GPS allows a user with an appropriate receiver to obtain their position anywhere on the Earth's surface. The use of GPs has highlighted the shortcomings of national reference systems, and many countries are in the process of establishing new geodetic frameworks in order to overcome these shortcomings. Korea National Geography Institute has established a new geocentric datum and presented the its time frame for implementation. In this paper, I studied the considerable matters of digital mapping authority and users for converting the geodetic datum and coordinate system and suggested the steps of public relations for GIS users.

  • The need of transformation parameters from local geodetic datums to a geocentric coordinate system is becoming more common, with the increasing application of satellite positioning techniques to LIS/GIS survey with cadastral management. In this paper, the national transformation parameters between the Korean geodetic coordinates which is based on the Bessel 1841 ellipsoid and the WGS84 ellipsoid are determined by the least square methods with weighted parameter constraints. Three-dimensional geocentric coordinates are based on GPS observation at 31 stations in the geodetic network, the datum parameters are computed within a standard deviation of less than 1 meter. In South Korea, the national transformation parameters with Bessel geoid-heights are useful for GPS baseline processing and for middle-scale map/database transformation.

  • The main purpose of this study is to investigate the coordinate transformation based on two different systems between local geodetic datum(tokyo datum) and international geocentric datum(new Korea geodetic datum). For this purpose, three methods were used to determine seven parameters as follows: Bursa-Wolf model, Molodensky-Badekas model, and Veis model. Also, we adopted multiple regression equation method to convert from Tokyo datum to KTRF. We used 935 control points as a common points and applied gross error analysis for detecting the outlier among those control points. The coordinate transformation was carried out using similarity transformation applied the obtained seven parameters and the precision of transformed coordinate was evaluated about 9,917 third or forth order control points. From these results, it was found that Bursa-Wolf model and Molodensky-Badekas model are more suitable than other for the determination of transformation parameters in Korea. And, transforming accuracy using MRE is lower than other similarity transformation model.
