  • This paper presents an application of parallel hybrid Genetic Algorithm-Tabu Search (GA-TS) algorithm to search an optimal solution of a recokiguration in distribution system. In parallel hybrid CA-TS, after CA operations, stings which are not emerged in the past population are selected in the reproduction procedure. After reproduction operation, if there are many strings which are in the past population, we add new random strings into the population, if there's no improvement for the predetermined iteration, local search procedure is executed by TS for the strings with high fitness function value. To show the usefulness of the proposed method, developed algorithm has been tested and compared on a distribution system in the reference paper.

In parallel hybrid GA-TS, after GA operations, strings which are not emerged in the past population are selected in the reproduction procedure. Comparing fuzzy type-1 and -2 in semi-active control with TMD considering uncertainties

  • In this study, Semi-active Tuned Mass Dampers (STMDs) are employed in order to cover the prevailing uncertainties and promote the efficiency of the Tuned Mass Dampers (TMDs) to mitigate undesirable structural vibrations. The damping ratio is determined using type-1 and type-2 Fuzzy Logic Controllers (T1 and T2 FLC) based on the response of the structure. In order to increase the efficiency of the FLC, the output membership functions are optimized using genetic algorithm. The results show that the proposed FLC can reduce the sensitivity of STMD to excitation records. The obtained results indicate the best operation for T1 FLC among the other control systems when the uncertainties are neglected. According to the irrefutable uncertainties, three supplies for these uncertainties such as time delay, sensors measurement noises and the differences between real and software model, are investigated. Considering these uncertainties, the efficiencies of T1 FLC, ground-hook velocity-based, displacement-based and TMD reduce significantly. The reduction rates for these algorithms are 12.66%, 26.43%, 20.98% and 21.77%, respectively. However, due to nonlinear behavior and considering a range of uncertainties in membership functions, T2 FLC with 7.2% reduction has robust performance against uncertainties compared to other controlling systems. Therefore, it can be used in actual applications more confidently.

확장형 탐색구역에서 Multi-Static 운용 기반 대잠헬기의 탐색에 관한 연구 (An Efficient Search Strategy of Anti-Submarine Helicopter based on Multi-Static Operation in Furthest-On-Circles)

  • The anti-submarine helicopter is the most effective weapon system in anti-submarine warfare. Recently changes in the introduction of the anti-submarine warfare sonar system are expected to operate multi-static sonar equipment of the anti-submarine helicopter. Therefore, it is required to study the operational concept of multi-static of anti-submarine helicopter. This paper studies on the optimal search of multi-static based on anti-submarine helicopter considering Furthest On Circles(FOC). First, the deployment of the sensors of the anti-submarine helicopter is optimized using genetic algorithms. Then, the optimized model is extended to consider FOC. Finally, the proposed model is verified by comparing pattern-deployment the search method in Korean Navy.

Evolutionary Computing Driven Extreme Learning Machine for Objected Oriented Software Aging Prediction

  • To fulfill user expectations, the rapid evolution of software techniques and approaches has necessitated reliable and flawless software operations. Aging prediction in the software under operation is becoming a basic and unavoidable requirement for ensuring the systems' availability, reliability, and operations. In this paper, an improved evolutionary computing-driven extreme learning scheme (ECD-ELM) has been suggested for object-oriented software aging prediction. To perform aging prediction, we employed a variety of metrics, including program size, McCube complexity metrics, Halstead metrics, runtime failure event metrics, and some unique aging-related metrics (ARM). In our suggested paradigm, extracting OOP software metrics is done after pre-processing, which includes outlier detection and normalization. This technique improved our proposed system's ability to deal with instances with unbalanced biases and metrics. Further, different dimensional reduction and feature selection algorithms such as principal component analysis (PCA), linear discriminant analysis (LDA), and T-Test analysis have been applied. We have suggested a single hidden layer multi-feed forward neural network (SL-MFNN) based ELM, where an adaptive genetic algorithm (AGA) has been applied to estimate the weight and bias parameters for ELM learning. Unlike the traditional neural networks model, the implementation of GA-based ELM with LDA feature selection has outperformed other aging prediction approaches in terms of prediction accuracy, precision, recall, and F-measure. The results affirm that the implementation of outlier detection, normalization of imbalanced metrics, LDA-based feature selection, and GA-based ELM can be the reliable solution for object-oriented software aging prediction.

GA-LADRC를 이용한 Mariner class vessel의 선수각 제어 (GA-LADRC based control for course keeping applied to a mariner class vessel)

  • In this study, to control the heading angle of a ship, which is constantly subjected to various internal and external disturbances during the voyage, an LADRC (linear active disturbance rejection control) design that focuses more on improving the disturbance removal performance was proposed. The speed rate of change of the ship's heading angle due to the turn of the rudder angle was selected as a significant factor, and the nonlinear model of the ship's maneuvering equation, including the steering gear, was treated as a total disturbance. It is the similar process with an LADRC design for the first-order transfer function model. At this time, the gains of the controller included in LADRC and the gains of the extended state observer were tuned to RCGAs (real-coded genetic algorithms) to minimize the integral time-weighted absolute error as an evaluation function. The simulation was performed by applying the proposed GA-LADRC controller to the heading angle control of the Mariner class vessel. In particular, it was confirmed that the proposed controller satisfactorily maintains and follows the set course even when the disturbances such as nonlinearity, modelling error, uncertainty and noise of the measurement sensor are considered.

최적화 기법을 이용한 도시유역 빗물펌프장 최적운영기법 연구 (Optimization of Operation for Stormwater Pumping Station)

  • 최근 도시 및 산업의 발달로 인해 투수면적 보다 불투수면적이 증가하고 있으며, 기후변화로 인하여 게릴라성 집중호우로는 도심지의 홍수피해가 많이 발생하고 있다. 이러한 홍수피해를 방어하기 위해 빗물펌프장 및 빗물저류조와 같은 구조적 대책을 수립하고 있다. 하지만 구조적 대책은 확장 및 증설하는데 많은 돈과 시간이 필요하다. 그러므로 가장 바람직한 피해 저감 대책은 구조적 대책 뿐만 아니라 비구조적 대책을 동시에 수립하는 것이다. 본 연구에서는 빗물펌프장의 최적 운영수위 산정을 위해 최적화 기법인 GA(Genetic Algorithm)을 적용하여 도시유역의 유출해석모형으로 가장 많이 쓰이는 SWMM(Storm Water Management Model)의 빗물펌프장 유역에 발생하는 각 시간별 펌프의 운영을 최적화였다. 목적함수는 펌프의 토출량 합을 최소화하였으며, 제약조건으로는 펌프의 효율을 극대화하기 위한 각 펌프가동 시간과 중단 시간의 수위를 고려하였다. 또한 대상유역의 실제 홍수가 발생한 기간의 실제 강우자료를 입력하여 분석하였다. 그 결과 펌프의 운영수위 결정에 있어 효과적인 결과를 나타낼 수 있었으며, 이를 활용하면, 펌프의 효율을 증가시키며 도시유역의 내수침수 저감 및 펌프의 운영적 관점에 있어 효과적인 운영을 하는데 도움이 되리라 판단한다.

COST-EFFECTIVE MODEL FOR ENERGY SAVING IN SUPER-TALL BUILDING

  • In many urban cities, super-tall buildings have been being constructed around New York and Chicago as the center since 1930 to improve the efficiency of land use and respond to new residential type. In terms of energy consumption, super-tall buildings are classified as a top energy consumption building. Also, as time passed, the degradation of energy performance occurs in super-tall buildings like general things so that these cannot show the initial performance planned in the design phase. Accordingly, building owners need to make a plan to apply energy saving measures to existing building during the operation phase. In order to select energy saving measures, calculus-based methods and enumerative schemes have been typically used. However, these methods are time-consuming and previous studies which used these methods have problems with not considering the initial construction cost. Consequently, this study proposes a model for selecting an optimal combination of energy saving measures which derives maximum energy saving within allowable cost using genetic algorithms. As a contribution of this research, it would be expected that a model is utilized as one of the decision-making tools during the planning stage for energy saving.

Kinetic Study of Thermolysin-Catalyzed Synthesis of N-(Benzyloxycarbonyl)-L-Phenylalanyl-L-Leucine Ethyl Ester in an Ethyl Acetate Saturated Aqueous System

  • The kinetics of the thermolysin-catalyzed synthesis of N-(benzyloxycarbonyl)-L-phenylalanyl-L-leucine ethyl ester (Z-Phe-LeuOEt) from N-(benzyloxycarbonyl)-L-phyenylalanine (Z-Phe) and L-leucine ethyl ester (LeuOEt) in an ethyl acetate saturated aqueous system in a batch operation were studied. The kinetics for the synthesis of Z-Phe-LeuOEt were expressed using a rate equation for the rapid equilibrium random bireactant mechanism. The four kinetic constants involved in the rate equation were determined numerically by the quasi-Newton method so as to fit the calculated results with the experimental data. Within the pH and temperature range examined, the $K_{cat}$ value for the synthesis of Z-Phe-LeuOEt reached a maximum at pH 7.0 and $45^{\circ}C$, whereas the affinity between Z-Phe and thermolysin reached a maximum at pH 6.0 adn $40^{\circ}C$. The inhibitory effect of Z-Phe on the condensation reaction decreased as the pH and temperature decreased. In contrast, they affinity between LeuOEt and thermolysin remained unchanged within the pH and temperature range examined. Therefore, it was concluded that the protonation state of the carboxyl groups. of Z-Phe was more imprtant than that of the amono groups of LeuOEt for the synthesis of Z-Phe-LeuOEt in the present solvent system. The equilibrium yield at pH 6.0 and $30^{\circ}C$ was 8% higher than that at pH 7.0 and $40^{\circ}C$, although the rate was much slower. This result suggested that the affinity between the enzyme and the substrate rather than the overall rate was a more important factor affecting the equilibrium yield, when the peptide synthesis was carried out in a product-precipitation system.

수학적 개념의 발생적 분해의 적용에 대하여 -추상대수학에서의 $Z_n$의 경우- (On the Applications of the Genetic Decomposition of Mathematical Concepts -In the Case of $Z_n$ in Abstract Algebra-)

  • There have been many papers reporting that the axiomatic approach in Abstract Algebra is a big obstacle to overcome for the students who are not trained to think in an abstract way. Therefore an instructor must seek for ways to help students grasp mathematical concepts in Abstract Algebra and select the ones suitable for students. Mathematics faculty and students generally consider Abstract Algebra in general and quotient groups in particular to be one of the most troublesome undergraduate subjects. For, an individual's knowledge of the concept of group should include an understanding of various mathematical properties and constructions including groups consisting of undefined elements and a binary operation satisfying the axioms. Even if one begins with a very concrete group, the transition from the group to one of its quotient changes the nature of the elements and forces a student to deal with elements that are undefined. In fact, we also have found through running abstract algebra courses for several years that students have considerable difficulty in understanding the concept of quotient groups. Based on the above observation, we explore and analyze the nature of students' knowledge about $Z_n$ that is the set of congruence classes modulo n. Applying the genetic decomposition method, we propose a model to lead students to achieve the correct concept of $Z_n$.
