Modeling and verification of generator/control system of Seo-Inchon combined-cycle plant by load rejection test (부하차단시험에 의한 서인천복합화력 발전기.제어계의 모델링 및 검증)

  • The gas-turbine generator of Seo-Incheon combined-cycle plant was tested for derivation of a model for dynamic analysis. Load rejection and AVR step test was performed to get the dynamic response of generator. The parameters of generator/control system model were determined by these measured data. No-load saturation test was performed for the saturation characteristics of the generator under steady state. V-curve test was also performed so as to find exact generator parameters. Q-axis parameters of generator was derived by measuring power angle. AVR and governor constants have been tuned by their oscillatory period and setting time characteristics. The derived parameters of generator control system is verified by one-machine infinite bus system simulation. (author). 7 refs., 20 figs., 5 tabs.

Design of Trajectory Generator for Performance Evaluation of Navigation Systems

  • In order to develop navigation systems, simulators that provide navigation sensors data are required. A trajectory generator that simulates vehicle motion is needed to generate navigation sensors data in the simulator. In this paper, a trajectory generator for evaluating navigation system performance is proposed. The proposed trajectory generator consists of two parts. The first part obtains parameters from the motion scenario file whereas the second part generates position, velocity, and attitude from the parameters. In the proposed trajectory generator six degrees of freedom, halt, climb, turn, accel turn, spiral, combined, and waypoint motions are given as basic motions with parameters. These motions can be combined to generate complex trajectories of the vehicle. Maximum acceleration and jerk for linear motion and maximum angular acceleration and velocity for rotational motion are considered to generate trajectories. In order to show the usefulness of the proposed trajectory generator, trajectories were generated from motion scenario files and the results were observed. The results show that the proposed trajectory generator can accurately simulate complex vehicle motions that can be used to evaluate navigation system performance.

  • In abroad, thousands of generator testing were accomplished because of importance about generator stability parameters. But it was introduced TWBP and processing in Korea. In addition to, related rules of generator testing had been weaken. Without guidelines, practical uses are much limited. So, it studied compliance life cycle about generator facility parameters for stability analysis. This paper presents security scheme and working rules using generator testing and disturbance recordings, considering domestic circumstance.

  • This paper presents a method for the derivation of model parameters of a co-generation system using data measured through on-site generator characteristic testing and validates its model parameters. Dynamic models such as generator, excitation system, and turbine/governor are mainly dealt in this paper. For the purpose of validation of derived model parameters, the measured results are compared with simulation results. The comparisons between measured results and simulation results show good match.

  • Induction generator is used primarily in small hydroelectric power station less than 1000kW recently. Unlike the synchronous generator, induction generator produces electricity when it is rotated above synchronous speed. In this study, we calculated the parameters of the induction generator with test reports presented by the manufacturer and analyzed that how much the induction generator has produced power near the rated speed. If we can use the test data to calculate the parameters, it is possible the output characteristics analysis of the induction generator. As a result of analysis, we concluded that output of induction generator varies sensitively for small changes in rotational speed in the near synchronous speed.

  • Direct calculation algorithm for the elements of A matrix in multimachine power systems with constant impedance loads has been suggested. Generator's rotor parameters need not be determined from the manufacturer's data. We can identify the elements of A matrix into two categories: One is related to only generator parameters, and the other is related to generator parameters, initial values, and $Z_{Bus}$ matrix.

  • Free-piston engine system is a new type energy converter which uses a linear motion of piston by using linear generator. In free-piston engine system, the piston is not connected to a crank-shaft. The major advantages of free-piston engine system are high efficiency and low mechanical loss from the absence of motion conversion devices. Linear generator of free-piston engine system is used as generator and starting motor. In design step, considering of back-emf and detent force characteristics for generating mode and thrust and control characteristics for starting mode is needed. In this research, generating mode of flat-type linear generator and tubular-type linear generator is analyzed by finite element analysis method and starting mode of both type linear generators is analyzed by using capability curve. Capability curve is plotted from electrical parameters of both type linear generator and motion profile is calculated from mechanical parameters.

  • A basic study was performed to develop a mini gas generator by using a commercial automotive airbag inflater. The mini gas generator can be used for industrial and military application like a seat belt pretensioner. Some parameters were experimentally investigated to reduce the size of the inflater. Basic combustion tests were performed in the closed chamber and measured the pressure and the temperature behavior according to the design parameters. From the study, essential parameters were determined to design a mini gas generator.

  • In this paper, the improved performance of small aircraft onboard generator were described. As the characteristics of the field coil which are a major parameters of generator were improved, the system bandwidth could be increased, therefore the generator could also be satisfied with fast characteristic loads. Established the brief control model of the generator, it could be possible to do the analysis of generator performance, and improve the operational stability of the generator system using the control model.

  • In renewable energy system such as flywheel energy storage system, wind power and solar power, the motor/generator is the important key for offering the electric energy to the electric loads. For example, the heavy and large flywheel is rotated by electromagnetic torque of pemanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) and, in case of a breakdown of electric current, the PMSM used as generator supplies electric energy for the various electric utilities using mechanical rotation energy of the flywheel. Thus, design of a motor/generator should be performed in effort to reduce cogging torque and electromagnetic loss for high efficiency. In our paper, a slotless permanent magnet synchronous motor/generator (SPMSM/G) with output power 15kW at the rotor speed 18000rpm is designed from electromagnetic analysis and dynamic performance analysis. In analytical approach, design parameters such as back electro-motive force (back EMF), inductance and electromagnetic torque are derived from analytical method which is one of the electromagnetic analysis method. And using the design parameters, this paper deal with system design considering the driving characteristics and electric load in required power. Finally, the analytical results are verified by the experiment and finite element method (FEM).
