The point rainfall measurements need to be converted to the areal rainfall by means of mean areal precipitation (MAP) estimation methods. And it is not appropriate to evaluate the areal rainfall with constant drift because of the geomorphological influences to rainfall field. Non-stationarity should be applied to the estimation of the areal rainfall, therefore, to consider these effects. Kriging methods with special functional would be a suitable tool in this case. Generalized covariance Kriging method is the most developed one among different Kriging methods. From this point of view this study performs the analysis of its applicability to distributed runoff model. For these purpose, distributed rainfall was created by Thiessen and Kriging method. And distributed rainfall of each method was applied into HyGIS-GRM. The result of applying, Runoff was different in the rainfall data form. Therefore, To apply Kriging method with physical meaning is that it is the useful method as distributed rainfall-runoff model.

In decades, a substantial body of work on a unified viscoplastic model which considers the mechanism of plastic deformation and creep deformation has developed. The systematic scheme for numerical analysis of unified model is necessary because the dominant failure mechanism is the defect growth and coalescence in materials. In the present study, the unified viscoplastic model for materials with defects suggested by Suquet and Michel was employed for numerical analysis. The constitutive equations are integrated based on the generalized mid-point rule and implemented into a finite element program (ABAQUS) by means of user-defined subroutine (UMAT). To evaluate the validity of the developed UMAT code and the assessment of the adopted viscoplastic model, the results obtained from the UMAT code was compared with the numerical reference solution and experimental data. The unit cell analysis also has been investigated to study the effect of strain rate, temperature, stress triaxiality and initial defect volume fraction on the growth and coalescence of the defect.

The conventional Boolean retrieval systems based on vector spae model can provide the results of retrieval fast, they can't reflect exactly user's retrieval purpose including semantic information. Consequently, the results of retrieval process are very different from those users expected. This fact forces users to waste much time for finding expected documents among retrieved documents. In his paper, we designed a bayesian SOM(Self-Organizing feature Maps) in combination with bayesian statistical method and Kohonen network as a kind of unsupervised learning, then perform classifying documents depending on the semantic similarity to user query in real time. If it is difficult to observe statistical characteristics as there are less than 30 documents for clustering, the number of documents must be increased to at least 50. Also, to give high rank to the documents which is most similar to user query semantically among generalized classifications for generalized clusters, we find the similarity by means of Kohonen centroid of each document classification and adjust the secondary rank depending on the similarity.
A new sort of learning algorithm named whole learning algorithm is proposed to simulate the nonlinear and dynamic behavior of RC members for the estimation of structural integrity. A mathematical technique to solve the multi-objective optimization problem is applied for the learning of the feedforward neural network, which is formulated so as to minimize the Euclidean norm of the error vector defined as the difference between the outputs and the target values for all the learning data sets. The change of the outputs is approximated in the first-order with respect to the amount of weight modification of the network. The governing equation for weight modification to make the error vector null is constituted with the consideration of the approximated outputs for all the learning data sets. The solution is neatly determined by means of the Moore-Penrose generalized inverse after summarization of the governing equation into the linear simultaneous equations with a rectangular matrix of coefficients. The learning efficiency of the proposed algorithm from the viewpoint of computational cost is verified in three types of problems to learn the truth table for exclusive or, the stress-strain relationship described by the Ramberg-Osgood model and the nonlinear and dynamic behavior of RC members observed under an earthquake.
The present paper studies the stability analysis of the continuously graded CNT-Reinforced Composite (CNTRC) panel stiffened by rings and stringers. The Stiffened Panel (SP) subjected to axial and lateral loads is reinforced by agglomerated CNTs smoothly graded through the thickness. A two-parameter Eshelby-Mori-Tanaka (EMT) model is adopted to derive the effective material moduli of the CNTRC. The stability equations of the CNRTC SP are obtained by means of the adjacent equilibrium criterion. Notwithstanding most available literature in which the stiffener effects were smeared out over the respective stiffener spacing, in the present work, the stiffeners are modeled as Euler-Bernoulli beams. The Generalized Differential Quadrature Method (GDQM) is employed to discretize the stability equations. A numerical study is performed to investigate the influences of different types of parameters involved on the critical buckling of the SP reinforced by agglomerated CNTs. The results achieved reveal that continuously distributing of CNTs adjacent to the inner and outer panel's surface results in improving the stiffness of the SP and, as a consequence, inclining the critical buckling load. Furthermore, it has been concluded that the decline rate of buckling load intensity factor owing to the increase of the panel angle is significantly more sensible for the smaller values of panel angle.

The fluorescence ratio method for processing planar laser induced fluorescence(PLIF) data was generalized for quantitative imaging of the injectant mole-fraction in supersonic mixing flowfields. The original fluorescence ratio approach was introduced by Hartfield et al. for tests in a special closed-loop wind tunnel to eliminate the effects of thermodynamic property variations in compressible flowfields and to provide a quantitative means of mole-fraction measurement. However, they implicitly assumed that the tracer molecules were seeded at the same fraction in both main and secondary flows. In the present study, we proposed generalizing the Hartfield method by considering differences in the tracer seeding rates. We examined the generalized method in a mixing flowfield formed by sonic transverse injection into a Mach 1.8 supersonic air stream. The injectant molefraction distribution obtained from PLIF data processed by our new approach showed better agreement with the gas chromatograph than one based on the Hartfield method.
The genetic association test on age of onset trait aims to detect the putative gene by means of linear rank tests for a significant trend of onset distributions with genotypes. However, due to the selective sampling of recruiting subjects with ages less than a pre-specified limit, the genotype groups are subject to substantially different censored distributions and thus this is one reason for the low efficiencies in the linear rank tests. In testing the equality of two survival distributions, log-rank statistic is preferred to the Wilcoxon statistic, when censored observations are nonignorable. Therefore, for more then two groups, we propose a generalized log-rank test for trend as a genetic association test. Monte Carlo studies are conducted to investigate the performances of the test statistics examined in this paper.
Underwriting is the first step for the administration of an insurance contract, which may result in stable profitability or unexpected loss for insurance company. Adequacy of underwriting criteria determines underwriting result. Generally, quantitative scoring system is used for underwriting. Method of evaluating risk for the scoring system is summing up scores for risk factors of a potential policyholder in consideration. Scores for each risk factor is predetermined. Current business environment for insurance companies makes underwriting profit more important, which means that insurance companies need more efficient underwriting method. This study suggests a reasonable approach to estimate risk relativities based on generalized linear model. Real data were used to quantify risk levels of groups of insureds for the design of underwriting model. Finally, effects in business volume and profitability of reflecting estimated underwriting scoring system are explained.

For biodiversity conservation, the importance of beta-diversity which is changes in the composition of species according to environmental changes has become emphasized. However, given the systematic investigation of species distribution and the accumulation of large amounts of data in the Republic of Korea(ROK), research on the spatialization of beta-diversity using them is insufficient. Accordingly, this research investigated the applicability of the Generalized Dissimilarity Modeling(GDM) to ROK, which can predict and map the similarity of compositional turnover (beta-diversity) based on environmental variables. A brief overview of the statistical description on using GDM was presented, and a model was fitted using the flora distribution data(410,621points) from the National Ecosystem Survey and various environmental spatial data including climate, soil, topography, and land cover. Procedures and appropriated spatial units required to improve the explanatory power of the model were presented. As a result, it was found that geographical distance, temperature annual range, summer temperature, winter precipitation, and soil factors affect the dissimilarity of the vegetation community composition. In addition, as a result of predicting the similarity of vegetation composition across the nation, and classifying them into 20 and 100 zones, the similarity was high mainly in the central inland area, and tends to decrease toward the mountainous areas, southern coastal regions, and island including Jeju island, which means the composition of the vegetation community is unique and beta diversity is high. In addition, it was identified that the number of common species between zones decreased as the geographic distance between zones increased. It classified the spatial distribution of plant community composition in a quantitative and objective way, but additional research and verification are needed for practical application. It is expected that research on community-level biodiversity modeling in the ROK will be conducted more actively based on this study.
A hierarchical multi-scale modeling strategy devoted to the study of a Bitumen-Bound Gravel (BBG) is presented in this paper. More precisely, the paper investigates the temperature-dependent linear viscoelastic of the material when submitted to low deformations levels and moderate number of cycles. In such a hierarchical approach, 3D digital Representative Elementary Volumes are built and the outcomes at a scale (here, the sub-mesoscale) are used as input data at the next higher scale (here, the mesoscale). The viscoelastic behavior of the bituminous phases at each scale is taken into account by means of a generalized Maxwell model: the bulk part of the behavior is separated from the deviatoric one and bulk and shear moduli are expanded into Prony series. Furthermore, the viscoelastic phases are considered to be thermorheologically simple: time and temperature are not independent. This behavior is reproduced by the Williams-Landel-Ferry law. By means of the FE simulations of stress relaxation tests, the parameters of the various features of this temperature-dependent viscoelastic behavior are identified.
