따라서 본 연구에서는 미국의 우수한 공과대학으로 꼽히고 있는 스탠포드대학교(Stanford University), 메사추세스공과대학(Massachusetts Institute of Technology), 로즈헐맨공과대학(Rose-hulman Institute of technology)과 프린스턴대학교(Princeton University)와 미시간대학교(Michigan University-Ann Arbor) 그리고 펜실베이니아 주립대학교(Pennsylvania State University)와 캔자스주립대학교(kansas state University)의 교양교육과정을 비교하여 한국 공과대학 교양교육과정 구성에 시사점을 찾기 위해 구현방식과 학문적 영역상의 특성을 분석하여 제시하였다.
In this paper, we argue that for general education in engineering, humanistic education is important, thus we propose an illustration of course outline. Recent general education for engineering is focused on only more practical, socially oriented courses, for example, business, law, economics, and entrepreneurship. While these courses are helpful for engineering students, humanistic education is more fundamental for improving the students' capacity for insight, originality and constructing the holistic view. We propose a course "Philosophy of Time and Space" as an example which fit this purpose.
In order to study the effect of the 'General Science' course implemented under the 6th science curriculum, high school students' views about the relationship between science/technology and society and their perceptions of science classroom environment were investigated. Four classes (n = 211) were selected from those completed the 'Science I' course under the 5th science curriculum, and 4 another classes (n = 216) which took the 'General Science' course under the 6th science curriculum were selected. In order to compare students' views about the relationship between science /technology and society. 10 items were selected from the VOSTS (Views On Science-Technology-Society) while considering the 6th science curriculum and the 'General Science' textbooks, and administered at the end of the 'Science I' course and at the beginning and end of the 'General Science' course. In order to compare the perceptions of science classroom environment, the Perceptions of Science Classroom Environment Questionnaire, which was prepared from the Individualized Classroom Environment Questionnaire. the Science Laboratory Environment Inventory, and the Classroom Environment Scale. was also administered at the end of the 'Science I' course and the 'General Science' course. The results indicated that the mean VOSTS score of the 6th-curriculum group was lower than that of the 5th-curriculum group, although the difference was not statistically significant. The decrease in the VOSTS score of the 6th-curriculum group during the 'General Science' course was statistically significant. It was also found that unrealistic views such as 'technology is the application of science', and 'corporations should control science/technology' had been formed during the course. However, the 6th-curriculum group had more positive perceptions of science classroom environment. Educational implications are discussed.

The importance of clear and effective communication at sea has been greatly emphasized due to the increase in multiculturalism on board both ocean-going and coastal vessels, and the necessity of systematic English training based on 'Knowledge, Understanding, and Proficiency' specified in STCW has also been recognized. With these growing needs in mind, the International Maritime Organization (IMO) updated the Maritime English (ME) Model Course 3.17 in 2015 by providing guidelines on language education within two separate categories, General Maritime English (GME) and Specialized Maritime English (SME). The IMO is now attempting to create a new, global framework of ME education and training, and this this new course model must first be thoroughly understood in order to explore the ways to apply the modified version into the context of current ME education in Korea and to design an updated language curriculum. Therefore, the general structural features of the new model course will be explained in this paper, and the course focus set by IMO and to be considered and/or adopted by the Republic of Korea will be closely examined. Finally, suggestions will be made on how to implement this revised model course in practice with the following focus: the development of localized curriculum for GME and SME; the provision of practical teaching guidance through relevant online and offline materials for class and self-study; and the establishment of qualification guidelines and a teaching support system for language teachers in maritime and language education.
A Study of Factors Affecting on High School Students’Choice of ’The Science of Home-Economics’Course in the 7th National Curriculum The purpose of this study is to explore what kind of factors make high school students decide to select ‘The Science of Home Economics’as one of the course among various in-depth elective courses in high school curriculum. an empirical survey was conducted by administering a structured survey questionnaire to 463 male and female students who attend in a college-bound high school in Taegu. Needs for public healthcare have recently increased. This paper proposes education topics for competency development in public healthcare in line with the needs of the times. In Korea, various lifelong education providers have already provided public health-related education. For example, the Research Institute for Health Policy (RIHP) under the Korean Medical Association provided an "executive course for physicians' public health care competencies" in 2019 and 2020. At the end of the course, the RIHP published a comprehensive report, entitled "Curricular development and evaluation for doctors' public healthcare competencies." This article is based on a summary of that report. To develop a curriculum for public healthcare, the RIHP adopted the following methodologies for a needs analysis; reviewing already-existing education subjects, evaluating end-of-course reports, and conducting in-depth focused group interviews and questionnaire surveys with doctors at public healthcare-related institutions. The results from the needs analysis can be categorized into two domains of education topics for public healthcare. The first domain includes education subjects related to the theory and practice of public healthcare, as follows: a general overview, community or population health, organizational administration, planning and evaluation, budget and finance, responses to disasters such as infectious diseases, health policy, and the legal system. The second domain contained education topics related to general professional competencies: leadership, communication, cooperation, teamwork, and professionalism. In conclusion, the curricular content for public healthcare will be an appropriate combination of competencies specific to public healthcare and core competencies for health professionals.
General Physics CAI Program was developed for university science and engineering student. The program was restricted in the field of mechanics and was mainly aimed for individual tutorial. This project was supported by Government. Department of Education, physics attending their general physics classes in university.
