하우스 종묘삼 재배에서 마이크로 버블(Micro bubble) 사용이 생육에 미치는 영향과 고품질 인삼 가공의 가능성 (Effect of Micro Bubble on Growth of Ginseng in the shaded plastic houses and Possibility of High Quality Ginseng processing)

  • 아직까지 많이 알려지지 않은 마이크로버블을 사용하여 우리나라 대표 작물인 인삼재배에 적용하였다. 고년근에 적용하여 결과를 확인하기 위해서는 비용과 시간 소요가 많아 종묘삼을 활용하여 생리적 변화를 측정하고 분석하였다. 최근 뿌리 작물에 기능성이 있다는 산소수 일반 재배농가에서 사용해보았지만 그 결과가 미미하고 오히려 해를 입는 경우도 생기게 되었다. 다른 작물의 선행결과와 본 연구결과를 볼 때 마이크로 버블을 사용한 인삼재배는 파급효과 있을 것으로 사료된다. 중화제 및 약제를 활용하여 만든 산소수와는 다른 개념으로 마이크로 버블은 공급 장치를 통해 우리가 이용하는 공기를 아주 작은 버블로 압축하여 인삼에 제공함으로써 저해 없이 특이성 성장을 이끌어 내었다. 연구결과로부터 설정된 종묘삼의 생장 특성 및 세분화별 적정범위 및 적정치를 결과와 비교하면, 그동안 이루어졌던 관행농법에서 사용되는 일반수와 마이크로 버블(Micro bubble)수를 사용하여 재배한 결과는 10%에서 15%의 인삼생장을 나타내었다. 이후로 마이크로 버블수를 생산할 때 시간별 용존 산소량을 측정하여 마이크로 발생장치의 최적 시간을 설정하고 최적화 설정을 위해서는 관계시간과 에너지 효율 및 토양의 영양환경에 대한 변화에 대해서도 더욱 많은 연구가 필요하고 사료되며, 더불어 생체 및 중량이 증가된 만큼 인삼의 주요 성분인 진세노사이드의 증감에 대한 분석 등 추가 연구가 활발하게 이루어져야 할 것이다.

Cool-down test of cryogenic cooling system for superconducting fault current limiter

  • A Superconducting Fault Current Limiter is an electric power device which limits the fault current immediately in a power grid. The SFCL must be cooled to below the critical temperature of high temperature superconductor modules. In general, they are submerged in sub-cooled liquid nitrogen for their stable thermal characteristics. To cool and maintain the target temperature and pressure of the sub-cooled liquid nitrogen, the cryogenic cooling system should be designed well with a cryocooler and coolant circulation devices. The pressure of the cryostat for the SFCL should be pressurized to suppress the generation of nitrogen bubbles in quench mode of the SFCL. In this study, we tested the performance of the cooling system for the prototype 154 kV SFCL, which consist of a Stirling cryocooler, a subcooling cryostat, a pressure builder and a main cryostat for the SFCL module, to verify the design of the cooling system and the electric performance of the SFCL. The normal operation condition of the main cryostat is 71 K and 500 kPa. This paper presents tests results of the overall cooling system.

  • In general, the strength of hull structures can be estimated from stress evaluation considering static and hydro-dynamic load due to sea-wave. However, war ships such as submarine, have frequently experienced the underwater explosion and local structures of ship as well as hull girder can be damaged by the dynamic response excited from underwater non-contact explosion. When explosion happens at underwater, shock wave is radiated In early short time, then gas bubbles are generated, and expansion and contraction are repeated as they float to the surface. The shock wave causes the damage of equipment and its supporting structures, on the other hand, the hull girder strength can be lost by resonance between bubble pulsation and lowest ship natural vibration period. In this paper, the hydro-Impulse force due to bubble was calculated. Based on these results the hull girder strength of submarine was estimated from transient response analysis by using NASTRAN. Also, shock analysis for some equipment supporting structures was carried out by using DDAM. In order to evaluate the strength of these local structures due to shock wave.

DAF 공정을 이용한 축산폐수의 고형물 분리와 부상특성 (Solid Separation and Flotation Characteristics of Livestock Wastewater Using DAF Process)

  • The series of experiments under the various conditions were carried out to evaluate the feasibility of dissolved air flotation (DAF) as an alternative of conventional gravity sedimentation (CGS) and to investigate the decrease of the loadings following to biological wastewater treatment processes in livestock wastewater system. On the basis of the experiment result between CGS and DAF processes, for the other water quality criteria as well as suspended solid the removal efficiency of DAF process was about 20~25 % better than CGS process on average. In addition, the particle removal efficiency of DAF process became higher in proportion as the increase of air to solid (A/S) ratio and the general wastewater treatment efficiency of DAF process was enough to meet the requirement of loading decrease to following biological process even at low A/S ratio range. Though DAF process is widely known as an solid separation unit, there was not the notable relationship between particle separation efficiency and several pollutant removal efficiencies like $COD_{Cr}$ and nutrients (T-N, T-P). Assume that the $COD_{Cr}$ was removed as the fraction of particle separation in this experiment, the removal efficiency of T-N and T-P were sensitive to removal efficiency of $COD_{Cr}$, especially.

2년 근 인삼재배 시 파인버블(Fine bubble)처리가 생육에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Fine Bubble Treatment on the Growth of Two-year-old Ginseng)

  • 재배지 부족과 기후변화로 인하여 인삼재배의 생산량이 적어지고 있어 추가적인 방법이 필요하다. 따라서 기존에는 환경산업 및 식품포장, 가공에 활용되고 있는 파인버블을 우리나라 대표 작물인 인삼재배에 적용하여 변화되는 생리적, 형태적 특성을 분석하였다. 2년 근 인삼에 파인버블수를 적용한 결과 Table 2에서 보듯이 줄기 길이와 잎이 증가되었고 뿌리에서는 주근이 커지면서 무게가 증가되었다. 특히 잎이 커지면서 뿌리의 무게가 증가됨을 보이고 있는데 이는 총엽록소 함량을 확인한 결과 높게 나와 광합성 효율 증대와 연계되었다고 판단된다. 본 연구결과에서는 파인버블수를 사용한 인삼 재배시 인삼의 성장 저해가 나타나지 않았음을 확인하였으며, 생리적 특성 및 세분화된 결과를 통해 인삼의 전체적인 생육이 약 10%에서 15% 생장이 증가되는 것을 확인할 수가 있다. 따라서 인삼 재배시 파인버블수를 적용함으로써 인삼이 생육 증대가 이루어지고 있다는 것을 의미할 수 있다. 추후 파인 버블수를 적용된 3-5년 근의 고년 근 인삼에서도 특징을 유지하는지 추가적인 연구가 필요하다고 사료된다.

IN-LINE NIR SPECTROSCOPY AS A TOOL FOR THE CONTROL OF FERMENTATION PROCESSES IN THE FERMENTED MEATS INDUSTRY

  • The research described here was undertaken with the aim of monitoring, optimizing and ultimately controlling the production of heterofermentative microbes used as starters in the salami industry. The use of starter cultures in the fermented meats industry is a well-established technique used to shorten and standardize the ripening process, and to improve and control the organoleptic quality of the final product. Starter cultures are obtained by the submerged cultivation of suitable microorganisms in stirred, and sometimes aerated, fermenters where monitoring of key physiological parameters such as the concentration of biomass, substrates and metabolites suffers from the general lack of real-time measurement techniques applicable to aseptic processes. In this respect, the results of the present work are relevant to all submerged fermentation processes. Previous work on the application of on-line NIR spectroscopy to the lactic acid fermentation (Dosi et al. - Monreal NIR1995) had successfully used a system based on a measuring cell included in a circulation loop external to the fermenter. The fluid handling and sterility problems inherent in an external circulation system prompted us to explore the use of an in-line system where the NIR probe is immersed in the culture and is thus exposed to the hydrodynamic conditions of the stirred and aerated fluid. Aeration was expected to be a potential source of problems in view of the possible interference of air bubbles with the measurement device. The experimental set-up was based on an in-situ sterilizable NIR probe connected to the instrument by means of an optical fiber bundle. Preliminary work was carried out to identify and control potential interferences with the measurement, in particular the varying hydrodynamic conditions prevailing at the probe tip. We were successful in defining the operating conditions of the fermenter and the geometrical parameters of the probe (flow path, positioning, etc.) were the NIR readings were reliable and reproducible. The system thus defined was then used to construct and validate calibration curves for tile concentration of biomass, carbon source and major metabolites of two different microorganisms used as salami starters. Real-time measurement of such parameters coupled with the direct interfacing of the NIR instrument with the PC-based measurement and control system of the fermenter enabled the development of automated strategies for the interactive optimization of the starter production process.
