대학생의 성별에 따른 성역할정체감과 성태도의 차이 (Differences between Gender Role Identity and Sexual Attitude among College Students)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to compare and examine gender role identity and sexual attitude according to sex among college students. Method: The subjects consisted of 1,118 college students. The tool for gender role identity and sexual attitude was the Korea Gender Role Identity Inventory(KGRII) of Lee, Kim and Koh(2002) and the Sexual Attitude Scale of Koh, Kim and Lee(2005). The collected data was analyzed using descriptive analyzed statistics, $X^2$ test, Lamda, t-test, ANOVA, Sheffe and Pearson correlation with the SPSS WIN 12.0 program. Result: For male students, undifferentiated role identity type, 36.5%, was the most common but for female students, an androgynous role identity type, 39.3%, was most common. The sexual attitude score according to gender role identity type was 2.9 for the undifferentiated type as the highest score. Of both male and female students, the highest sexual attitude score was the undifferentiated type. Sexual attitude according to general characteristics for male students had a significant difference in major field of study and height and for female students weight. Sexual attitude was significantly related to age, height and weight. Conclusion: These results suggest that gender role identity and sexual attitudes are different between the sexes. This study result contributes to providing basic data for sex education and nursing interventions for college students.

여성 리더의 성 역할에 따른 직무만족과 조직몰입의 관계 (Relationship between Job Satisfaction and Organizational Commitment According to Women Leaders' Gender Role)

  • 본 연구는 국내 기업에서 여성 리더의 사회적 성 역할에 따른 직무만족과 조직몰입의 관계를 분석하기 위한 것으로, 구체적으로는 여성 리더의 성 역할에 따라서 직무만족과 조직몰입 수준의 차이가 존재하는지를 확인하고자 문헌연구를 토대로 여성 리더와 종업원으로 구성된 학습지 회사인 K사의 1,172명을 대상으로 실증분석을 수행하였다. 연구결과 여성 리더가 수행하는 양성적 성 역할과 남성적 성 역할이 여성적 성 역할보다 영업집단의 직무만족과 조직몰입에서 높은 수준을 보이는 것을 발견하였으나, 양성적 성 역할과 남성적 성 역할 사이에는 유의한 차이를 발견할 수 없었다.

Learners' Smart Media Literacy on the Gender and School Levels

  • The present study aims to examine whether the gender and school of students affect smart media literacy in South Korea. For the purpose of this study, data in Korea Youth Competency Measurement and International Comparative research II was analyzed. The data was nationwide data collected from 11,284 students in elementary, middle, high, and undergraduate school in South Korea. The participants were asked to answer 18 items of smart media literacy questionnaire (SMLQ) that consisted of four factors; ability to learn using smart media, ability to operate smart devices, ability to use smart applications, and positive perception of using smart media. As a result, statically significant differences were observed in the participants' gender and school levels. In relation to the gender level, female students scored higher than male students on the smart literacy survey. With regard to the school level, middle school students scored the highest while elementary school students scored the lowest. In addition, a statistically significant difference was found in the gender level of smart media literacy on two dependent measures in terms of the interaction effect of gender and school levels. Based on the findings of the present study, strategies to improve smart media literacy according to students' gender and school levels have been made and suggestions for further research have been proposed in detail.

Assessing Korean Middle School Students' Spatial Ability: The Relationship with Mathematics, Gender, and Grade

  • Spatial ability has been valued as a talent domain and important skill in mathematics education because it enhanced an intuitive view and an understanding in many areas of mathematic. In addition, spatial ability highly correlates with mathematics achievement, indicating its crucial role in success in mathematics education. Some researchers founded gender differences in mathematics and spatial ability, and indicated that spatial ability served as a mediator of gender difference in mathematics. This study explored the spatial ability of 349 Korean middle school students (Grade 7-9), and investigated the association among students' spatial ability and their mathematics achievement, gender, and grade. The result of this study shows that spatial ability correlates positively with mathematics achievement. While gender difference did not exist in mathematics, significant gender difference existed in spatial ability favoring male students.

산업별로 본 성별 임금격차에 관한 연구 (An Empirical Study on the Wage Gap by Industries)

  • This study estimates gender wage gap by the Korean industries. The empirical findings are as follows: 1. The sex segregation by industries has not improved. 2. The average wage in $\ulcorner$electricity, transportation, warehousing, financial institutions$\lrcorner$ is relatively higher than others. On the contrary, the average wage in $\ulcorner$mining and manufacturing$\lrcorner$ and $\ulcorner$wholesale and retail, food, loading$\lrcorner$ is relatively lower than others. 3. The gender wage gap in $\ulcorner$electricity, transportation, warehousing, financial institutions$\lrcorner$ is relatively lower than others. On the contrary, the gender wage gap in $\ulcorner$mining and manufacturing$\lrcorner$ is relatively higher than others. The gender wage gap has declined annually. The gender wage gap in industries with lower wage level is higher. The decline of gender wage gap cannot be interpreted as a relaxation of sexual discrimination.

  • This study explores how the patriarchal system instigates violence through the use of a lottery in "The Lottery" by Shirley Jackson and a reaping in The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. To maintain its validity, the patriarchal system makes people internalize the principle of homicide in everyday life. One of the effective ways to sustain the patriarchal system is to develop the gender concept clearly. In "The Lottery," traditional gender segregation results in the construction of a homogeneous community supported by patriarchal concepts. On the other hand, The Hunger Games shows how Katniss Everdeen, the main character, experiences the different gender roles and norms according to the specific surroundings like her hometown (the 12th district), Capitol (the capital of Panem), and finally the Hunger Games stadium, where she has to kill others to survive. In the end, Katniss both becomes a political entity through playing gender performance supported by Judith Butler.

"유치원교육활동지도자료"의 성역할 내용에 대한 사회학적 분석 (A Sociological Analysis on Contents of Gender Role in the "Educational Active Program Guidance books in Preschools")

  • 이 연구는 제3차에서 6차에 이르는 유치원교육활동지도자료 총40권에 나타난 성역할의 내용을 내용분석법으로 살펴보았다. 연구목적은 유치원 7차 교육과정의 기초 자료를 제공하는데 있었다. 연구문제는 남녀의 성별분업표현, 남녀의 직업 표현에 따른 성역할 내용의 변화에 대한 것이었다. 연구 결과 첫째, 남성은 직장생활이 강조되고 있는 반면 여성은 가사노동이 강조되었다. 둘째, 남녀의 직업은 우리 삶에서 일상적으로 인식하고 있는 직업들로 묘사되고 있었으며, 남성의 직업이 여성의 직업보다 더 다양하게 제시되었다. 셋째, 제6차의 경우는 제 3, 4, 5차에서보다는 남녀의 성을 구분하는 단서를 주지 않으려는 사례가 많았다. 또한 남녀의 차별적인 표현을 없애고, 어느 한 쪽에 치우치지 않기 위해 남녀를 평등하게 제시하는 사례가 많았다.

청소년 성역할 고정관념에 관한 연구 - 성 차이를 중심으로 - (A Study on Gender Differences of Gender-Role Stereotype among Youth)

  • 본 연구는 청소년 성역할 고정관념의 성 차이를 알아보고 이에 영향을 미치는 변인들을 가족특성과 청소년 개인특성을 중심으로 규명하기 위하여 실시되었다. 이를 위해 한국청소년정책연구원이 2005년 조사한 초등 2차 패널 자료와 중등 3차 패널 자료를 사용하였으며 분석결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 성역할 고정관념은 여학생보다 남학생이 더 유효하게 높았다. 둘째, 남성성 성역할 고정관념은 남학생 뿐 아니라 여학생에게도 여성성 성역할 고정관념보다 높은 수준으로 유지되고 있었다. 셋째, 남학생의 자존감은 성역할 고정관념에 유의한 정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났지만 여학생의 자존감은 성역할 고정관념과 무관하였다. 넷째, 여학생 집단에서 아버지와 어머니의 교육수준, 가족형태는 성역할 고정관념의 유의한 감소를 가져오는 것으로 나타났지만, 남학생 집단의 경우 어머니의 교육수준만 남성성 성역할 고정관념의 유의한 증가를 가져오는 것으로 나타나 여학생은 가족의 영향을 남학생보다 더 많이 받고 있었으며, 효과에 있어서도 성역할 고정관념의 완화를 경험하고 있었으나 남학생은 그 반대인 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과를 토대로 청소년의 균형 있는 성역할 태도 형성을 위한 제언을 제시하였다.

한부모의 성역할인식과 가족복지서비스 이용이 자아존중감에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of Gender Role Attitudes and Family Service Utilization on Self-Esteem among Single Parents)

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the effects of gender role attitudes and family service utilization on self-esteem among single parents. This study used data from the seventh wave of Korean Welfare Panel Study and analyzed 90 single parents. Hierarchical multiple regression analyses showed that health status, economic situation, gender role attitudes, and non-monetary family welfare service had significant effects on single parents' self-esteem. Single parents who had higher traditional gender role attitudes show lower levels of self-esteem. Also use of a non-monetary family service increased the levels of self-esteem. However, use of a monetary family service was not significantly associated with the levels of self-esteem. The findings indicate that services and programs to promote single parents' gender role flexibility should be developed. Also, it is necessary to establish a service system to reduce multiple role stress among single parents.

인터넷 쇼핑몰 이용자의 성별에 따른 구매 이전의 지각된 위험과 구매의도에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Perceived Risk of E Commerce and the Pre-Purchase Intention of Internet Shopping Mall Users according to Gender)

  • The aims of this study are to determine if the perceived risk of e-commerce affect the Internet shopping mall users' decision to pre-purchase an item via e-commerce, to find out if there are differences among the induced perceived risk according to gender, and to verify if the perceived risk according to gender have a correlation to a person's decision to pre-purchase an item via e-commerce. It can thus be concluded that the pre-perceived risk of e-commerce affect the Internet shopping mall users' purchase intention. Different results were obtained, though, according to gender. Moreover, the perceived risk of e-commerce based on gender and the purchase intention of the Internet shopping mall users were shown not to have a correlation. This means that although slightly different study results were presented, e-commerce purchasers can use these results to recognize the risk of e-commerce.
