  • GenJTAG implemented in this paper is an automatic web-based boundary scan circuit generator. GenJTAG supports all the public instructions for the boundary scan technique, and also private instructions for other DFT techniques to be applied. Users can easily edit the generated boundary scan circuit code because it is described in behavioral level with the Verilog-HDL. GenJTAG has another advantage that any one can generate the boundary scan circuit by simply accessing to the web site.

  • Sequence homology analysis in the substances in the phenomenon of life is to create database by sorting and indexing and to demonstrate the usefulness of informatics. In this paper, Markov models are used in GenScan program to convert the pattern of complex eukaryotic protein sequences. It becomes impossible to navigate the minimum distance, complexity increases exponentially as the exact calculation. It is used scorecard in amino acid substitutions between similar amino acid substitutions to have a differential effect score, and is applied the Markov models sophisticated concealment of the transition probability model. As providing superior method to translate sequences homologous sequences in analysis using blast p, Markov models. is secreted protein structure of sequence translations.

  • In this paper, we implemented the GenJTAG, a CAD tool, which generates a code of boundary scan circuit supporing a board level testing and d BIST(Built-In Self Test) written in verilog-HDL. A boundary scan circuit code that supports user's own BIST instructions is generated based on the informations from the users. Most CAD tools hardly allow users to add their own BIST instructions because the generated code described in gate-level. But the GenJTAG generates a behavioral boundary scan circuit code so users can easily make a change on the generated code.

  • Recently, as it is considered more important to identify the function of ail unknown genes in living things, many tools for gene prediction have been developed to identify genes in the DNA sequences. Unfortunately, most of those tools use their own schemes to represent their programs results, requiring researchers to make additional efforts to understand the result generated by them So, it is desirable to provide a standardized method of representing predicted gene information, which makes it possible to automatically produce the predicted results for a given set of gene data In this paper, we describe an effective U representation for various predicted gene information, and present an XML-based analysis tool for gene predication results based on this representation. The developed system helps users of gene prediction tools to conveniently analyze the predicted results and to automatically produce the statistical results of the prediction. To show the usefulness of the tool, we applied our programs to the results generated by GenScan and GeneID, which are widely used gene prediction systems.

  • In this paper, the development of infrared threat surrogate system is described and it can be used to verify the performance of DIRCM system. In this research, threat surrogates are manufactured using same F# and reflective optics used in 1st- and 2nd-Gen. real seeker so that the threat surrogate system can be used to develop code-based jamming techniques. Also the threat surrogate system can analyze the saturation jamming effect for image seeker using FPA detector. The result shows that 1st- and 2nd-generation threat surrogates have relatively precise tracking performance and jamming effect.

  • Gene structure prediction, which is to predict protein coding regions in a given nucleotide sequence, is the most important process in annotating genes and greatly affects gene analysis and genome annotation. As eukaryotic genes have more complicated stuructures in DNA sequences than those of prokaryotic genes, analysis programs for eukaryotic gene structure prediction have more diverse and more complicated computational models. We have developed EGSP, a eukaryotic gene structure program, using duration hidden markov model. The program consists of two major processes, one of which is a training process to produce parameter values from training data sets and the other of which is to predict protein coding regions based on the parameter values. The program predicts multiple genes rather than a single gene from a DNA sequence. A few computational models were implemented to detect signal pattern and their scanning efficiency was tested. Prediction performance was calculated and was compared with those of a few commonly used programs, GenScan, GeneID and Morgan based on a few criteria. The results show that the program can be practically used as a stand-alone program and a module in a system. For gene prediction of eukaryotic microbial genomes, training and prediction analysis was done with Saccharomyces chromosomes and the result shows the program is currently practically applicable to real eukaryotic microbial genomes.

  • GenBIST implemented in this paper is an automatic CAD tool, which can automatically generate circuitry in VerilogHDL code based on user defined information for the memory testing. While most commercial and conventional CAD tools adopt a method in which they make memory-testing algorithms as a library to generate circuitry, our tool can generate circuitry according to the user-defined algorithm, which makes application of various algorithms easier. In addition, memory BIST circuitry can be shared with other memories by supporting embedded memories in our tool. Also, extra pins for the memory testing are not requited when boundary scan technique is combined.

본 연구팀은 duration hidden markov model을 기본형태로 하여 EGSP(Eukaryotic Gene Structure Prediction)프로그램을 개발하였다.

  • It is well known that stiffness of composites depends on layup sequence of CFRP(carbon fiber reinforced plastics) laminates because the layup of composite laminates influences their properties. Ultrasonic NDE of composite laminates is often based on the backwall echoes of the sample. A pair of such transducers was mounted in a holder in a nose-to-nose fashion to be used as a scanning probe on composites. Miniature potted angle beam transducers were used (Rayleigh waves in steel) on solid laminates of composites. Experiments were performed to understand the behavior of the transducers and the nature of the waves generated in the composite (mode, wave speed, angle of refraction). C-scan images of flaws and impact damage were then produced by combining the pitch-catch probe with a portable manual scanner known as the Generic Scanner ("GenScan"). The pitch-catch signal was found to be more sensitive than normal incidence backwall echo of longitudinal wave to fiber orientation of the CFRP composites, including low level porosity, ply waviness, and cracks. Therefore, it is found that the experimentally Rayleigh wave variation of pitch-catch ultrasonic signal was consistent with numerical results and one-side ultrasonic measurement might be very useful to detect the defects.
