혐기성 유동층 반응기를 이용한 페놀과 카테콜의 처리특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on Treatment Characteristics of the Phenol and Catechol using on Anaerobic Fluidized Bed Reactor)

  • This study was carried to investigate the treatment characteristics of the phenol and catechol with an anaerobic fluidized bed reactor(AFBR) having a dimension of 9 cm i.d. and 1.25 m height. The reactor was operated at $35\pm 1\circ$C. The COD concentration of the effluent, the gas production rate and the composition of gas were measured to determine the performance of the AFBR as the hydraulic retention time(HRT) was decreased from 2 days to i day at 600 mg/l of the phenol and catechol concentration. Stable treatment of the phenol wastewater could be achieved with the AFBR at 18 days but the catechol wastewater couldn't be. At HRT 2 days, the phenol wastewater showed the COD reduction efficiency of 93% and the gas production of 2.7 l/day and the catechol wastewater was obtained the COD reduction efficiency of 82% and the gas production of 0.72 l/day. Also at HRT 1 day the phenol and catechol wastewater showed the COD reduction efficiency of 95% and 73% and the gas production of 4.0 l/day and 1.25 l/day, respectively.

복사열전달을 고려한 상호작용하는 예혼합화염의 수치해석 (Numerical Study of Interacting Premixed Flames Including Gas Phase Radiation)

  • Characteristics of premixed flames in counter-flow system are numerically studied using a detailed chemical reaction mechanism including gas phase radiation. Without radiation effect accounted, low CO and high NO$_{x}$ emission indices are observed, when strain rate decreases, due to increased residence time and higher flame temperature. Higher NO$_{2}$ production has been also observed when two premixed flames are interacting or cold air stream is mixed with burned gas. The rate of NO$_{x}$ production and destruction is dependent upon the diffusional strength of H and OH radicals, the existence of NO and the concentration of HO$_{2}$. For radiating flames, the peak temperature and NO$_{x}$ production rate decreases as the strain rate decreases. At high strain rate, it is found that the effect of radiation on flame is little due to its negligible radiating volume. It is also found that NO$_{x}$ production from the interacting premixed flame is reduced due to reduced temperature resulting from radiation heat loss. It is concluded that the radiation from gas has significant effect of flame structure and on emission characteristics.ristics.

  • As a future clean substitute energy, the Gas hydrate development projects are world widely carried out to prepare the shortage of petroleum and natural gas resources. The OIIP of gas hydrate is estimated approximately 10 Trillion LNG equivalent ton and it reaches almost the amount of 5 thousand years use for the world people. To develop the commercial production technology, several research projects like Malik and Alaska project have been carried by several advanced countries and teams, but nobody have succeeded it yet due to the technical problems and the high risks. The technologies developed up to now for the hydrate production are categorized to four methods, such as depressurization method, thermal recovery method, inhibitor injection method and replacement method. As these methods are highly related to the costs and the environmental problems, many other researches including the safety, environment and disaster prevention are actively fulfilled as well.

SAFETY STUDIES ON HYDROGEN PRODUCTION SYSTEM WITH A HIGH TEMPERATURE GAS-COOLED REACTOR

  • A primary-pipe rupture accident is one of the design-basis accidents of a High-Temperature Gas-cooled Reactor (HTGR). When the primary-pipe rupture accident occurs, air is expected to enter the reactor core from the breach and oxidize in-core graphite structures. This paper describes an experiment and analysis of the air ingress phenomena and the method fur the prevention of air ingress into the reactor during the primary-pipe rupture accident. The numerical results are in good agreement with the experimental ones regarding the density of the gas mixture, the concentration of each gas species produced by the graphite oxidation reaction and the onset time of the natural circulation of air. A hydrogen production system connected to the High-Temperature Engineering Test Reactor (HTTR) Is being designed to be able to produce hydrogen by themo-chemical iodine-Sulfur process, using a nuclear heat of 10 MW supplied by the HTTR. The HTTR hydrogen production system is first connected to a nuclear reactor in the world; hence a permeation test of hydrogen isotopes through heat exchanger is carried out to obtain detailed data for safety review and development of analytical codes. This paper also describes an overview of the hydrogen permeation test and permeability of hydrogen and deuterium of Hastelloy XR.

가스하이드레이트 포화율 및 감압률에 따른 해리특성 분석 (The Analysis of Dissociation Properties According to Gas Hydrate Saturation and Depressurization Rate)

  • 가스하이드레이트(GH: Gas Hydrate)는 전 세계적으로 약 10조 톤에 이르는 엄청난 양이 대부분 해양의 대륙사면에 부존되어 있으나(동토 지역 : 2 %, 해양 대륙사면 98 %), 현재까지 가스하이드레이트 저류층으로부터 상업화할 수 있을 만큼 가스를 회수하는 기술이 개발되어 있지 않은 실정이다. 일반적으로 회수하는 방법은 감압법, 열자극법, 억제재 주입법 및 치환법 등으로 크게 나누어 볼 수 있으며, 본 연구에서는 가스하이드레이트 포화율과 감압률에 따라서 가스하이드레이트 해리시간 및 가스생산이 어떻게 달라지는 지, 그에 대한 특성을 분석하고자 하였다. 연구분석 결과 감압률과 해리시간의 상관 관계식을 도출($Y=0.0004X^2-0.499X+176.86$)할 수 있었고, 또한 감압률이 클수록 메탄생산량이 좋다는 것을 알 수 있었지만(감압률 40% 대비 50%에서 메탄가스생산량이 46.2% 향상), 감압률이 60%에서는 오히려 생산량이 줄어드는데, 이는 가스하이드레이트 재형성에 기인한 것으로 판단된다.

Effects of Tropical High Tannin Non Legume and Low Tannin Legume Browse Mixtures on Fermentation Parameters and Methanogenesis Using Gas Production Technique

  • In vitro experiments were conducted to evaluate the suitability of several mixtures of high tanniniferous non legumes with low tanniniferous legumes on in vitro gas production (IVGP), dry matter degradation, Ammonia-N, methane production and microbial population. Eight treatments were examined in a randomized complete block design using four non-legumes and two legumes (Carallia integerrima${\times}$Leucaena leucocephala (LL) (Trt 1), C. integerrima${\times}$Gliricidia sepium (GS) (Trt 2), Aporosa lindeliyana${\times}$LL (Trt 3), A. lindeliyana${\times}$GS (Trt 4), Ceiba perntandra${\times}$LL (Trt 5), C. perntandra${\times}$GS (Trt 6), Artocarpus heterophyllus${\times}$LL (Trt 7), A. heterophyllus${\times}$GS (Trt 8). The condensed tannin (CT) content of non legumes ranged from 6.2% (Carallia integerrima) to 4.9% (Ceiba perntandra) while the CT of legumes were 1.58% (Leucaena leucocephala) and 0.78% (Gliricidia sepium). Forage mixtures contained more than 14% of crude protein (CP) while the CT content ranged from 2.8% to 4.0% respectively. Differences (p<0.05) were observed in in vitro gas production (IGVP) within treatments over a 48 h period dominated by C. perntandra${\times}$G. sepium (Trt 6). The net gas production (p<0.05) was also high with Trt6 followed by A. heterophyllus${\times}$L. leucocephala (Trt 7) and A. heterophyllus${\times}$G. sepium (Trt 8). Highest (p>0.05) NH3-N (ml/200 mg DM) production was observed with the A. heterophyllus${\times}$G. sepium (Trt 8) mixture which may be attributed with it's highest CP content. The correlation between IVGP and CT was 0.675 while IVGP and CP was 0.610. In vitro dry matter degradation (IVDMD) was highest in Trt 8 as well. Methane production ranged from 2.57 to 4.79 (ml/200 mg DM) to be synonimous with IVGP. A higher bacteria population (p<0.05) was found in C. perntandra${\times}$G. sepium (Trt 6) followed by Artocarpus heterophyllus+G. sepium (Trt 8) and the same trend was observed with the protozoa population as well. The results show that supplementing high tannin non leguminous forages by incremental substitution of legume forage increased gas production parameters, NH3-N, IVDMD and microbial population in the fermentation liquid. Methane production was not significantly affected by the presence of CT or different levels of CP in forage mixtures. Among non legumes, Ceiba perntandra and Artocarpus heterophyllus performed better in mixture with L. leucocephala and G. sepium.

동해-1 가스전 B2 저류층의 생산성 분석에 관한 Field Case Study (Field Case Study for the Productivity Analysis of B2 Reservoir, Donghae-1 Gas Field)

  • 본 연구에서는 국내대륙붕 제 6-1광구 고래 V 구조 (동해-1 가스전)의 B2 저류층에 대한 생산성 분석을 수행하기 위해 상평형 모델과 물질평형식 및 유임유동식에 근거한 사용자 친화적 생산거동분석 모델을 개발하였다. 이 모델에서는 저류층 주변에 대수층이 존재하는 경우에 대해서도 분석이 가능하도록 설계하였다. 또한 콘덴세이트가 생산성에 미치는 효과를 분석하기 위해 저류층에서 생성된 콘덴세이트를 겉보기스킨의 효과로 고려함으로써 저류층 평균압력에 대한 정저압력을 산출하는데 있어서 콘덴세이트에 의한 효과를 묘사하고자 하였다. 상기 모델을 활용하여 다양한 생산시스템에 대해 분석한 결과, B2층을 연간 5500 MMSCF 생산하는 비폐쇄시스템 즉 저류층이 10배 유한대수층과 270$^{\circ}C$ 유입각도로 접해있 다고 가정할 때, B2 저류층은 생산 개시 후 8년 6개월이 결과한 시점에서도 계산된 정저압력이 운영 정저압력 1298 psia보다 높게 산출되어 최대 생산을 유지할 수 있음을 확인하였다. 또한 콘덴세이트는 생산 개시 1100일이 경과한 시점에서부터 생성되기 시작하여 1270일이 지나면 저류층 전체에 콘덴세이트가 존재하는 것으로 나타났다. B2층은 생산이 종료되는 시점까지 많은 양의 물이 유입되는 관계로 저류층의 압력이 충분히 유지되고 콘덴세이트의 생성량이 적어 이에 따라 스킨인자의 증가도 크지 않게 산출되었다.

Nonlinear self-induced vibration and operability envelope analysis of production strings in marine natural gas development

  • Marine production strings are continuously affected by unstable internal fluid during operation. In this paper, the structural governing equation for marine production string self-induced vibration is constructed. A finite element analysis model is established based on Euler-Bernoulli theory and solved by the Newmark method. Furthermore, based on reliability theory, a self-design procedure is developed to determine the operability envelope for marine production string self-induced vibration. Case studies show: the response frequency of the production strings is consistent with the excitation frequency under harmonic fluctuation and mainly determined by the first-order natural frequency under stochastic fluctuation. The operability envelope for marine production string self-induced vibration is a near symmetrical trapezium. With the increasing of natural gas output, the permissible fluctuation coefficient dramatically decreases. A reasonable centralizer spacing, increasing top tension, and controlling natural gas output are of great significance to the risk control in marine production string operation.

Evaluation of Some Aquatic Plants from Bangladesh through Mineral Composition, In Vitro Gas Production and In Situ Degradation Measurements

  • A study was conducted to evaluate the nutritive potential value of different aquatic plants: duckweed (Lemna trisulaca), duckweed (Lemna perpusila), azolla (Azolla pinnata) and water-hyacinth (Eichhornia crassipes) from Bangladesh. A wide variability in protein, mineral composition, gas production, microbial protein synthesis, rumen degradable nitrogen and in situ dry matter and crude protein degradability were recorded among species. Crude protein content ranged from 139 to 330 g/kg dry matter (DM). All species were relatively high in Ca, P, Na, content and very rich in K, Fe, Mg, Mn, Cu and Zn concentration. The rate of gas production was highest in azolla and lowest in water-hyacinth. A similar trend was observed with in situ DM degradability. Crude protein degradability was highest in duckweed. Microbial protein formation at 24 h incubation ranged from 38.6-47.2 mg and in vitro rumen degradable nitrogen between 31.5 and 48.4%. Based on the present findings it is concluded that aquatic species have potential as supplementary diet to livestock.

Effect of Unsaturated Fatty Acids on Cellulose Degradation and Fermentation Characteristics by Mixed Ruminal Microbes

  • This experiment was conducted to evaluate the effects of supplemental unsaturated fatty acids (UFA) on fermentation characteristics, especially on gas production, cellulose degradation and volatile fatty acid (VFA) concentration by mixed ruminal microorganisms. In order to attain this objective, unsaturated fatty acids including oleic acid (C 18:1), linoleic acid (C18:2) and arachidonic acid (C22:4) were added at varying level. Mixed ruminal microbes used in this experiment were obtained from the rumen of a cannulated Holstein cow. Medium pH values after 7 d incubation were significantly affected by type and level of unsaturated fatty acids (p<0.01). All of UFA inhibited total gas production, and especially treatment of arachidonic acid at the levels of 0.01% gave the lowest gas. production after 7 d incubation (p<0.01). Comparison of the population of protozoa revealed that UFA did not have any significant effect on the total protozoa number. The addition of UFA did not effect dry matter degradation. Volatile fatty acid (VFA) composition of the culture was influenced little by UFA, although the considerable amount of iso-type VFA were detected in UFA supplemented incubations. The ratio of acetic acids to propionic acids, however, was lower than control in all the treatments after 7 d incubation (p<0.01).
