Dropped objects are among the top ten causes of fatalities and serious injuries in the oil and gas industry (DORIS, 2016). Objects may accidentally fall down from platforms or vessels during lifting or any other offshore operation. Proper planning of lifting operations requires the knowledge of the risk-free zone on the sea bed to protect underwater structures and equipment. To this end a three-dimensional (3D) theory of dynamic motion of dropped cylindrical object is expanded to also consider ocean currents. The expanded theory is integrated into the authors' Dropped Objects Simulator (DROBS). DROBS is utilized to simulate the trajectories of dropped cylinders falling through uniform currents originating from different directions (incoming angle at $0^{\circ}$, $90^{\circ}$, $180^{\circ}$, and $270^{\circ}$). It is found that trajectories and landing points of dropped cylinders are greatly influenced by the direction of current. The initial conditions after the cylinders have fallen into the water are treated as random variables. It is assumed that the corresponding parameters orientation angle, translational velocity, and rotational velocity follow normal distributions. The paper presents results of DROBS simulations for the case of a dropped cylinder with initial drop angle at $60^{\circ}$ through air-water columns without current. Then the Monte Carlo simulations are used for predicting the landing point distributions of dropped cylinders with varying drop angles under current. The resulting landing point distribution plots may be used to identify risk free zones for offshore lifting operations.

This study is to increase the utilization of the ozonated water generator to make it easier to take advantage of the ozone water in the world today, there will be to develop a system that operates in one motion. Furthermore, olive oil and ozone is reacted with the wish to apply to the manufacturing technology. In the case of many existing products ozone generator driven mostly non-ozone system. In the case of ozone, but handwriting is implied general way pressure ozone gas leakage risks of suction force to the pump, it is the case of the challenge by using the injector, and limit the generation of ozone and ozone inhalation according to whether the water inlet leakage of existing products risk due to minimized. Despite the disadvantages of the injector system was found the effectiveness of the ozonated water production unit injector system used in this study to maintain the microbiological disinfection performance.

The study aimed to analyze the status quo of manufacturing work environment and the work clothes' clothing comfort and wearer mobility of welding and grinding work processes in the machine and shipbuilding industries in South Korea. A questionnaire survey was conducted for the study, which consisted of questions about work clothes' clothing comfort and wearer mobility according to body parts. The findings derived from the research were: the high impact levels of work environment factors on welding and grinding work processes were noise, metal fragment, superheat, toxic gas, UV ray factors. Subject workers' assessment of work clothes' clothing pressures were in the levels between 3 (i.e. moderate) and 4 (i.e. comfortable) in a range of 5-point scale. The impact levels of wearer mobility factor were high on the work processes of welding and grinding in machine and grinding in shipbuilding. While welding process in shipbuilding showed a 'moderate' wearer mobility level and this was because its work postures were uncomfortable yet the rate of the motion change was low. The consideration to develop the work clothes specialized for certain work processes should include the materials' protecting performance from the hazardous work environment factors; and work clothes' designs that provides workers with maximized clothing comfort and wearer mobility for bending or tilting postures of upper, lower and lateral body parts defined in the study.

The shock absorber with magnetic effect is suggested for a lunar lander. The shock absorber consists of a metal tube, a piston rod, and several permanent magnets moved by a piston rod in the tube, and the shock energy can be dispersed and dissipated by magnetic effects such as the magnetic force existed between a metal and magnets and the eddy current effect generated by a relative motion with a conductor and magnets. Besides, the shock-absorbing effect similar to that of a coil spring can be obtained by arranging the magnets in line, which are facing the same polar each other. The device has a very simple structure and is usable in space due to the unnecessariness of any oil or gas. The shock absorber was designed and manufactured for experiments and its spring and damping characteristics were studied by the theoretical, analytical and experimental methods.
We present observational results from optical long-slit spectroscopy of parsec-scale jets of DG Tau. From HH 158 and HH 702, the optical emission lines of Hα, [O i] λλ6300, 6363, [N ii] λλ6548, 6584, and [S ii] λλ6716, 6731 are obtained. The kinematics and physical properties (i.e., electron density, electron temperature, ionization fraction, and mass-loss rate) are investigated along the blueshifted jet up to 650′′ distance from the source. For HH 158, the radial velocity ranges from −50 to −250 km s−1. The proper motion of the knots is 0.′′196 − 0.′′272 yr−1. The electron density is ∼104 cm−3 close to the star, and decreases to ∼102 cm−3 at 14′′ away from the star. Ionization fraction indicates that the gas is almost neutral in the vicinity of the source. It increases up to over 0.4 along the distance. HH 702 is located at 650′′ from the source. It shows ∼ −80 km s−1 in the radial velocity. Its line ratios are similar to those at knot C of HH 158. The mass-loss rate is estimated to be about ∼ 10−7 M⊙ yr−1, which is similar to values obtained from previous studies.
The flow pattern and the solid-liquid mass transfer coefficient in figure-eight shaking vessels were observed by experimental method. The flow patterns, mixing time, power consumption and mass transfer coefficient in the figureeight shaking vessels changed irregularly with increase in the shaking frequency. Any frequency, even in the Fr = 0.095 or more became clear experimentally. The region of the optimum operating condition of the figure-eight shaking was larger than that of the reciprocal shaking. The solid-liquid mass transfer coefficient was correlated with the same correlation as that of the rotary shaking vessel of existing. The gas-liquid mass transfer coefficient of the figure-eight shaking vessel was also correlated with the same type of correlation as that of the rotary shaking vessel of existing.

In this study, CFD is used to compare and analyze the flow characteristics using reflected pressure wave during the intersection of two trains in straight tunnel. Two tunnels of different lengths; 600 m and 3,400 m were designed and numerical analysis of the flow characteristics of two tunnels carried out by setting the crossing state of the two trains at a constant velocity of 27 m/s form the center of the tunnel. The simulation model was designed using the actual tunnel and subway dimensions The train motion was achieved by using the moving mesh method. For the numerical analysis, $k-{\omega}$ standard turbulence model and an ideal gas were used to set the flow conditions of three-dimensional, compressible and unsteady state. In the analysis results, it was observed that the inside of the long tunnel without interference of the reflected pressure wave was maintained at a pressure lower than the atmospheric pressure and that the flow direction was determined by the pressure gradient and shear flow. On the other hand, the flow velocity in the short tunnel was faster and the pressure fluctuation was noted to have increased due to the reflected pressure wave, with more vortices formed. In addition, the flow velocity was noted to have changed more irregularly.
Under certain circumstance, premixed turbulent flame can be treated as wrinkled thin laminar flame and its motion in a hydrodynamic flow field has been investigated by employing G-equation. Past studies on G-equation successfully described certain aspects of laminar flame propagation such as effects of stretch on flame speed. In those studies, flames were regarded as a passive interface that does not influence the flow field. The experimental evidences, however, indicate that flow field can be significantly modified by the propagation of flames through the volume expansion of burned gas. In the present study, a new method to be used with G -equation is described to include the effect of volume expansion in the flame dynamics. The effect of volume expansion on the flow field is approximated by Biot-Savart law. The newly developed model is validated by comparison with existing analytical solutions of G -equation to predict flames propagating in hydrodynamic flow field without volume expansion. To further investigate the influence of volume expansion, present method was applied to initially wrinkled or planar flame propagating in an imposed velocity field and the average flame speed was evaluated from the ratio of flame surface area and projected area of unburned stream channel. It was observed that the initial wrinkling of flame cannot sustain itself without velocity disturbance and wrinkled structure decays into planar flame as the flame propagates. The rate of decay of the structure increased with volume expansion. The asymptotic change in the average burning speed occurs only with disturbed velocity field. Because volume expansion acts directly on the velocity field, the average burning speed is affected at all time when its effect is included. With relatively small temperature ratio of 3, the average flame speed increased 10%. The combined effect of volume expansion and flame stretch is also considered and the result implied that the effect of stretch is independent of volume release.

In this study the seismic performance of a three-story knee-braced moment-resisting frame (KBMRF), which is typically employed to support pipelines for oil or gas, was investigated. Nonlinear static pushover analyses were performed first to observe the force-displacement relationship of KBMRF under increasing seismic load. The results show that, when the maximum inter-story drift reached 1.5% of the story height, the main structural members, such as beams and columns, still remained elastic. Then nonlinear dynamic time-history analyses were carried out using eight earthquake ground motion time-histories scaled to at the design spectrum of UBC-97. It turned out that the maximum inter-story drift was smaller than the drift limit of 1.5 % of the structure height, and that the columns remained elastic. Based on these analytical results, it can be concluded that the seismic performance of the structure satisfies all the requirements regulated in the seismic code.
