This paper, Al-doped ZnO(AZO) thin films for application as transparent conducting oxide films were deposited on the Corning glass substrate by using RF magnetron sputtering system. The effects of various Argon gas flow rates on optical and electrical characteristics of AZO films were investigate sputtering method. The Carrier Concentration is enhanced as Ar gas rate increases, and also the oxygen vacancy concentration. The figure of merit obtained in this study means that AZO films which deposited Ar gas rate of 75 sccm have the highest Carrier concentration and Hall mobility, which have the highest photoelectrical performance that it could be used as transparent electrodes.
Natural gas liquefaction plant and LNG carrier needs large capital investment. Therefore a lot of small or middle scale natural gas fields aren't developed due to poor profitability. If natural gas is made to gas hydrate instead of liquefaction, developing small-scale natural gas field can be profitable because building cost of gas hydrate plant and carrier are economical. Because the process of making gas hydrate consumes much energy, the gas hydrate formation process has to be optimized for energy consumption. In this study, gas hydrate formation process was investigated experimentally. Experimental apparatus consists of reactor, pressure regulator, chiller, and magnetic stirrer. 99.95% methane was used to make gas hydrate. Tests were conducted at variable pressure and temperature condition.

The TMA gas sensors are fabricated with the ZnO-based thin films grown by a RF magnetron sputtering method. The hall effect measurement and AES analysis are carried out to investigate the effects of the sputtering gases and dopants which effect on the electrical resistivity and sensitivity to TMA gas. We measure the cfhanges of the surface carrier concentration, haall electron mobility, electrical resistivity, surface condition, and depth profile of the films. The ZnO-based thin film sensors sputtered in oxygen, or added with dopants showed a high sruface carrier concentration, film sensors sputtered in oxygen and doped with 4.0 wt.% $Al_{2}$O$_{3}$, 1.0 wt.% TiO$_{2}$, and 0.2 wt% v$_{2}$O$_{5}$ showed the highest surface carrier concentration of 5.952 * 10$^{20}$ cm$^{-3}$ , hall electron mobility of 176.7 cm$^{2}$/V.s, lowest electrical resistivity of 6*10$^{-5}$ .ohm.cm and highest sensitivity of 12. These results were measured at a working temperature of 300.deg. C to 8 ppm TMA gas.
Nanocrystalline ceria particles were prepared by using the ultrasonic spray pyrolysis method. The prepared ceria particles were found to be spherical and non-agglomerated by the SEM and TEM analyses. It was found that carrier gas influences the size and morphology. It was found that the air stream of carrier gas results in porous agglomerated structure of ceria abrasives, whereas solid nano-sphere can be obtained in a more oxidizing atmosphere.
In this study, the alumina for gas sensor was prepared by anodic oxidation. It was stable thermally and chemically, and pore diameter and pore distribution was uniform. And the shape of pore was cylinderical. The aluminum plate was carried out by the thermal oxidation, chemical polishing and electropolishing pretreatment. The pore diameter, pore size distribution, pore density and thickness of alumina was observed with the change of reaction temperature, electrolyte concentration and current density. As a results, It was able to use for carrier because alumina which was prepared by anodic oxidationhas uniform pore size distribution.
Fine powders of the 2212 superconducting phase of bismuth system have been prepared directly from solution using ultrasonic spray pyrolysis. The fine superconducting powders produced by pyrolysis were characterized for the size, shape, and crystalline phase by SEM and XRD. The pyrolysis temperature, flow rate of the carrier gas, residence time of the droplets greatly influenced the size, shape, and crystalline phase. The optimum temperature and flow rate of the carrier gas for the preparation of fine powders of the 2212 superconduting phase were found to be 830$^{\circ}C$and 3ι/min, respectively.

This study analyzes the optimal location of gas detectors through the gas dispersion in a cargo compressor room of a 174K LNG carrier equipped with high-pressure cargo handling equipment; in addition, we propose a reasonable method for determining the safety regulations specified in the new International Code of the Construction and Equipment of Ships Carrying Liquefied Gases in Bulk (IGC). To conduct an LNG gas dispersion simulation in the cargo compressor room-equipped with an ME-GI engine-of a 174 K LNG carrier, the geometry of the room as well as the equipment and piping, are designed using the same 3D size at a 1-to-1 scale. Scenarios for a gas leak were examined under high pressure of 305 bar and low pressure of 1 bar. The pinhole sizes for high pressure are 4.5, 5.0, and 5.6mm, and for low pressure are 100 and 140 mm. The results demonstrate that the cargo compressor room will not pose a serious risk with respect to the flammable gas concentration as verified by a ventilation assessment for a 5.6 mm pinhole for a high-pressure leak under gas rupture conditions, and a low-pressure leak of 100 and 140 mm with different pinhole sizes. However, it was confirmed that the actual location of the gas detection sensors in a cargo compressor room, according to the new IGC code, should be moved to other points, and an analysis of the virtual monitor points through a computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulation.
Triplex composite is an epoxy-bonded joint structure, which constitutes the secondary barrier in a liquefied natural gas (LNG) carrier. Defects in the triplex composite weaken its shear strength and may cause leakage of the LNG, thus compromising the structural integrity of the LNG carrier. This paper proposes an autonomous triplex composite inspection (ATCI) system for visualizing and classifying hidden defects in the triplex composite installed inside an LNG carrier. First, heat energy is generated on the surface of the triplex composite using halogen lamps, and the corresponding heat response is measured by an infrared (IR) camera. Next, the region of interest (ROI) is traced and noise components are removed to minimize false indications of defects. After a defect is identified, it is classified as internal void or uncured adhesive and its size and shape are quantified and visualized, respectively. The proposed ATCI system allows the fully automated and contactless detection, classification, and quantification of hidden defects inside the triplex composite. The effectiveness of the proposed ATCI system is validated using the data obtained from actual triplex composite installed in an LNG carrier membrane system.
The change in discharge current of a glow discharge has been shown the potential sensitive detector for gas chromatography. To investigate the effect of carrier gas on the electrical characteristics of the discharge and the peak response, the discharge pressure, gas flow rate, and discharge gap have been studied. The discharge gas included the Ar, He, and N$_{2}$. The gas flow rate has been found one of the important parameters to affect both the electrical characteristics and the peak response.
Gas Chromatography (GC) is a wisely technique used for the separation and analysis of liquid and gas sample. Separation of the sample vapors is achieved via their differential migration through a capillary column with an insert carrier gas. The identity and quantity of each vapor in the mixer can be determined from its retention time in the column and a particular property of the gas, such as thermal conductivity, which can be related to the concentration of sample vapor in the carrier gas. Therefore, the flow characteristics in the spiral gas chromatographic column are numerically investigated in this study. Especially, different pressure drop between the front and the rear of GC column with various flow rates is estimated the governing equations are derived from making using of three-dimensional Naver-Stokes equation with incompressible and laminar model due to the nature of low Reynolds number flow. Using a commercial code, FLUENT, the pressure and flow fields in GC column are calculated with various flow rates. The characteristics of thermal cycling which is one of the most important factors affecting the column efficiency and analysis time is also estimated. Furthermore, numerical analyses are also carried out by using commercial code, ANSYS, with various values of power, which is applied to the heating element located at lower GC column.
