LPG충전소에서 증기운폭발이 주변건물에 미치는 영향의 정량적 해석 및 평가에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Quantitative Analysis and Estimation for Surround Building caused by Vapor Cloud Explosion(VCE) in LPG Filling Station)

  • This paper is estimation of structure damage caused by Explosion in LPG(Liquefied Petroleum Gas) filling station. As we estimate the influence of damage which occur at gas storage tank in filling station. We can utilize the elementary data of safety distance. In this study, the influence of over-pressure caused by VCE(Vapor Cloud Explosion) in filling station was calculated by using the Hopkinson's scaling law and the accident damage was estimated by applying the influence on the adjacent structure into the probit model. As a result of the damage estimation conducted by using the probit model, both the damage possibility of explosion overpressure to structures of max 265 meters away and to glass bursting of 1150 meters away was nearly zero in open space explosion.

  • As the hydrogen industry grows, expansion of infrastructure for hydrogen supply is required, but the safety of hydrogen facilities is concerned due to the recent accidents at the Gangneung hydrogen tank and the Norwegian hydrogen fueling station. In this study, the damage range and impact analysis on the on-site hydrogen fueling station was conducted using Hy-KoRAM. This is a domestically developed program that adds functions based on HyRAM. Through this risk assessment, it was evaluated whether the on-site hydrogen fueling station meets international standards and suggested ways to improve safety.

주유소 기반의 전기자동차 충전인프라 구축에 대한 취약지역 분석 (Analysis of Vulnerable Districts for Electronic Vehicle Charging Infrastructure based on Gas Stations)

  • Car exhaust emissions are recognized as one of the key sources for climate change and electric vehicles have no emissions from tailpipe. However, the limited charging infrastructures could restrict the propagation of electric vehicles. The purpose of this study is to find the vulnerable districts limited to the charging station services after meeting the goal of Ministry of Knowledge Economy(12%). We assumed that the charging service can be provided by current gas stations. The range of the vulnerable grades was determined by the accessibility to current gas stations and the vulnerable regions were classified considering the optimal number of charging stations estimated by the efficiency function. We used 4,827 sub-municipal divisions and 11,677 gas station locations for this analysis. The results show that most of mountain areas are vulnerable and the fringe areas of large cities generally get a good grade for the charging infrastructure. The gangwon-do, jeollanam-do, gyeongsangbuk-do, and chungcheongnam-do include more than 40% vulnerable districts.

Association between traffic-related environmental factors and allergy symptoms for children

  • Traffic-related environmental factors (TREF) are a major problem in developed countries, leading to increased atopic sensitivity, allergy symptoms, and diseases. This study shows an association between traffic-related pollutants, distance of road and gas station from the children's daycare center, and allergy symptoms. Data was obtained from the 2018 survey, an ongoing allergic diseases prevalence survey for children aged 4-7 (n=1175). This survey considered 36 public daycare centers, across 6 districts in Seoul. Allergic symptoms were defined as the presence of at least 1 or more allergic diseases (International Study of Asthma and Allergies in Childhood (ISAAC)). TREF was derived from the distance to the nearest main roads and gas stations. Geographic data processing and variable computation were conducted using ArcGIS version 10.2. The odds ratios for allergy symptoms increased by 1.189 (1.235-2.679) times with decreasing distance to main roads and by 1.846 (1.176-2.896) times with decreasing distance to a gas station. This study concludes that main roads and gas-stations near children's daycare centers are related to the allergy symptoms in children.

Calculation of fuel temperature profile for heavy water moderated natural uranium oxide fuel using two gas mixture conductance model for noble gas Helium and Xenon

  • A model for calculation of fuel temperature profile using binary gas mixture of Helium and Xenon for gap gas conductance is proposed here. In this model, the temperature profile of a fuel pencil from fuel centreline to fuel surface has been calculated by taking into account the dilution of Helium gas filled during fuel manufacturing due to accumulation of fission gas Xenon. In this model an explicit calculation of gap gas conductance of binary gas mixture of Helium and Xenon has been carried out. A computer code Fuel Characteristics Calculator (FCCAL) is developed for the model. The phenomena modelled by FCCAL takes into account heat conduction through the fuel pellet, heat transfer from pellet surface to the cladding through the gap gas and heat transfer from cladding to coolant. The binary noble gas mixture model used in FCCAL is an improvement over the parametric model of Lassmann and Pazdera. The results obtained from the code FCCAL is used for fuel temperature calculation in 3-D neutron diffusion solver for the coolant outlet temperature of the core at steady operation at full power. It is found that there is an improvement in calculation time without compromising accuracy with FCCAL.

수소 스테이션의 연구개발 동향 및 단위공정 기술 (R&D Trends and Unit Processes of Hydrogen Station)

  • 연료전지와 수소를 사용하는 연료전지 자동차의 상용화를 위해서는 수소 공급용 수소 스테이션(hydrogen station)의 개발이 중요한 핵심 기반기술이다. 일반적으로 수소 스테이션은 탈황반응, 개질반응(reforming), 수성가스전환(WGS) 반응 및 수소분리(PSA) 장치로 구성된 수소제조 공정과 압축, 저장 및 분배 장치로 구성된 후처리(post-treatment) 공정으로 구성되어 있다. 본 총설에서는 수소 경제(hydrogen economy) 사회로의 진입을 위해 국내외에서 연구개발 중인 수소 스테이션에 대한 연구 개발 동향과 전망을 고찰하였다. 그리고 향후 풍력 및 태양열 등 재생 가능 에너지(renewable energy)원으로부터 물의 분해에 의한 수소제조 기술이 확립되기 전까지는 화석연료의 개질 반응이 수소를 제조하는 핵심기술이 될 것으로 판단된다. 따라서 화석연료의 탈황반응, 화석연료의 개질 반응에 의한 수소제조, CO 농도 저감을 위한 수성가스 전환반응 및 수소의 분리기술 등 수소 스테이션의 상용화에 필수적인 단위공정개발에 대한 최근의 연구동향을 정리하였다.

CNG/HCNG 복합충전소의 안전에 관한 동향분석 (A Trends Analysis on Safety for CNG/HCNG Complex Fueling Station)

  • 본 연구에서는 강화되는 자동차 배기가스 규제를 만족시키기 위하여 압축천연가스자동차보다는 배기가스부분에서 유리하고, 아직 상용화되지 않은 수소연료전지자동차의 대안으로서 수소경제의 본격적인 도입을 위한 과도기적 대안연료로 주목받고 있는 수소와 천연가스를 혼합한 연료인 HCNG 충전소의 안전에 관한 동향 및 기술을 분석하였다. HCNG는 기존의 CNG 인프라의 활용, 점점 강화되는 배기가스 배출기준의 충족, 그리고 다가오는 수소시대를 대비하여 수소시대로 가기위한 기술적, 사회적 가교역할을 한다는 점에서 매우 중요한 기회이자 도전이다. 이를 위해 HCNG 상용화에 필수적으로 요구되는 수소-압축천연가스 혼합연료 사용에 대비한 각종 안전 고려사항 들에 대하여 검토하여 국내 사고 이력을 기초로 하여 사고발생시나리오, 안전거리 추가 필요성, 수소침식, 점화원, 화재감지 등의 안전 고려사항을 제시하였고, HCNG 충전소 기술 및 기준에 관한 최근동향을 분석하여 향후 HCNG 충전소 시범 운영을 위한 안전성평가 등 제도적 기반 구축을 제안하였다.
