A Study on the Construction of GCM System (GCM 시스템 구축 방안에 관한 연구)

  • GCM(Green Chain Management) is being spread by that companies which apply with eco-friendly concept in entire SCM(Supply Chain Management) perspective is being increased for resolving some recent environmental problems. There are reasons that numerous companies focus on GCM. At first various governments began to directly manage components and material contents about various noxious substances. Second, environment problem management in the entire logistics process from procurement of product materials to distribution of product became to be important according to introduction of certification system that evaluate the environmental impact throughout life-cycle of products. Purposes of this paper are 1) to analyze the GCM process whose important is more increasing in the recent logistics environment change, 2) to comprehend places and sources that generate environmental elements like energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions in elements of logistics function, and 3) to construct integrated GCM system for observing activity of logistics function throughout life-cycle of products.

Estimation and Adjustment of Time Point in Manifestation of Gas Safety Project Effects using Sigmoid Functions (시그모이드 함수를 이용한 가스안전사업 효과의 발현시점 추정과 조정)

  • Gas has replaced coal or petroleum as primary fuel because of its convenience. However, gas has risk of fire, explosion, or poisoning. To reduce gas-related accidents, many strategic projects have been being carried based on 'Gas Safety Management Basic Plans' on a domestic scale. In spite of those projects, the gas-related accident rate did not decrease over past decades. Thus, this study was conducted to analyze the effectiveness of ongoing projects, and to find out ways to make improvements. Conventional statistical analyses on accident data published by gas-related institutions were not useful to determine meaningful attributes to predict future. Whereas, accident case analyses adopted in the present study discovered differences in the type of people and their unsafe acts for each gas type. Meanwhile, the overall average priority of projects was not high in the aspect of System Safety Precedence. If the current trend is maintained, with sigmoid functions, it can be estimated that mean annual accident rate will decrease by only 2.0% in the next two decades. To improve the current trend, the present study made conclusions as followings: (1) safety projects should be designed with careful consideration of accident traits including gas type, unsafe acts, and persons involved and (2) alternative strategies should include system considerations such as minimum hazard design and safety devices prior to mere education or training. To summarize briefly, the present state related with gas accidents highlights the necessity of a system-based multidisciplinary approach.

Development and Performance Test of Gas Safety Management System based on the Ubiquitous Home (u-home 가스안전관리시스템 개발 및 성능시험)

  • In this paper, we proposed a system to raise gas safety management by using the wireless communication module and intelligent gas safety appliances. Our designed systems configure a micom-gas meter, an automatic extinguisher, sensors, and a wallpad. A micom-gas-meter monitors gas flow, gas pressure, and earthquake. An automatic fire extinguisher checks gas(combustible) leaks and temperature of $100^{\circ}C$ and $130^{\circ}C$. Sensors measure smoke and CO gas. In our novel system, a micom-gas meter cut off inner valve with warnings, an automatic fire extinguisher cut off middle valve and spray extinguishing materials, and sensors generate signals for smoke and CO when occurring gas risk. Gas safety appliances and sensors takes safety measures, and transmit those signal to a wallpad. The wallpad again transmit signal like events to a control server. Users can connect web pages for gas safety through B-ISDN and control and manage them. We hereby devised scenarios for gas safety and risk management, and demonstrated their effectiveness through experiments.

A Study on the Odorization Levels and Management in the Facility using Liquified Natural Gas(LNG) (액화천연가스(LNG) 사용시설내의 부취농도 분포 및 관리방법에 관한 연구)

  • In many mass-consumption gas facilities, natural gas is not supplied through the pipeline of the gas corporation. LNG is supplied from the gas corporation through the tank lorry to be vaporized. In order to prevent human or property damage due to gas leakage at these facilities, a study was conducted to analyze the concentration of odorant injected at the initial and consumption points. An analysis was performed to confirm the change in odorant concentration according to the pipe position in the gas facility when a constant flow rate flowed. For this study the gas samples were taken with aluminium cylinders(4.5 L) which were created a vacuum at the pressure regulator in which the odorants was injected and the points using the gas. Odorant levels of the samples were analyzed by Gas chromatography(Main Body : Agilent 7890A, Detector : ANTEC 7090).We suggest that the small facilities using LNG need to make the management system by the types of facilities for maintaining the odorization system.

  • Currently, 787 hydrogen tube trailer are in operation as of the end of October 2022, and a maximum of 340 kg is transported in a Type 1 seamless container at a pressure of up to 200 bar. The current safety management system and facility management are in good condition, but the system and facility structure improvement are needed to strengthen safety. Accordingly, this paper simulated and analyzed an accident case that occurred on the Daejeon-Dangjin highway on December 28, 2021 during the process of expanding the supply and operation of hydrogen tube trailer according to the hydrogen energy activation policy. Based on the results, suggestions were made on how to improve the safety of hydrogen tube trailer.

  • The performance characteristics of heat exchangers which consist of a gas cooler, an evaporator and an internal heat exchanger have been investigated at various operating conditions of $CO_2$ air conditioning system by experiments. The heat exchangers were designed for use in the vehicle $CO_2$ air conditioning system, when considering the characteristics of heat transfer and high pressure as $CO_2$ refrigerant. This paper studied the performance of heat exchangers at various compressor speeds and expansion valve openings, and quantified the heat transfer rates and pressure drops. Heat transfer rates at the gas cooler and the evaporator were 6.9 kW and 5.2 kW, respectively, when the compressor speed was 4000 rpm and refrigerant vapor quality at the evaporator outlet was 0.98. Therefore, this paper carried out that the heat exchangers were analyzed to achieve superior performance for the vehicle transcritical $CO_2$ cycle.

  • Technology trends of onboard and ground health management system software for aircraft gas turbine engines are surveyed. The software has changed from ground based software for fault detection and identification to a model based health identification technology for onboard software. This advanced algorithm is currently under development in a technically advanced country while domestic research is on the birth stage. This paper suggested that the optimal development plan of the software considering current technology state.

  • Although the usage of gas as one of the most economical energy source is ever expanding, numerous gas accidents occur as a result of negligence in safety management. The main reason behind such accident is that the current safety control system relies heavily on the manual control mechanism. This paper designed and developed a prototype of a computerized gas safety control system that automates such critical functions as the alarm sensing and the valve control. Since the system is connected through a digital network, the control can be performed remotely. Most importantly, the accidental risk or damage can be greatly reduced since the system monitors and reacts actively to gas leakage in real time.
