자유이물에 의한 GIS 내부 코로나특성 연구 (Corona Discharge In GIS Initiated by Free Conducting Particles)

  • The Gas Insulated Switchgear(GIS) has made it an indispensible part of power transmission network. In order that the GIS may have its high reliability, it is necessary to pay careful attention to its whole process e.g., designing, manufacturing, installation, and operation. The main hazard in GIS comes from free conducting particles, which can move and cause breakdown under the influence of the electric field. Although the concentration on protecting the GIS inner part against the free conducting particles is made, it is, actually, almost impossible to avoid the hazard from the particles throughly. In this paper, the corona discharge in GIS initiated by the free conducting particles was discribed through laboratorial experiment The magnitude of the corona discharge voltage was measured using current measuring method by the impedance. The purpose of this experiment is to get fundamental data which is essential to develop GIS diagnosis technology.

  • 본 연구는, 초고압 GIS(Gas Insulated Switchgear)용 GCB(Gas Circuit Breaker)의 3상 배치구조를 설계 하기 위한 상간, 대지간의 절연성능을 평가하였다. 피임펄스 전압과 상용주파 전압인가시 상간, 대지간의 절연설계 기준과 비교하여 절연설계 안전율을 고려하여 설계에 적용하였다. 수치적 전계 해석법으로 3차원 전계 해석법과 2차원 축대칭 전계 해석법을 통해 전계 강도를 비교하였으며 3차원 전계 해석법으로는 경계 요소법(Boundary Element Method)을 사용하는 상용프로그램인 coulomb을 사용하였으며, 2차원 전계 해석법으로는 유한요소법(Finite Element Method)을 사용하는 Maxwell을 통해 절연성능 평가를 하였다. 마지막으로, 전계 해석을 통해 절연설계 기준에 적합한 상배치 구조 설계를 하였다.

  • We proposed a new sensitivity verification method for the UHF partial discharge(PD) detection system. Initially, we measure the UHF power induced by 5 pC PD which takes place near UHF sensor. Subsequently, we inject the swept UHF signal from a network analyzer into the GIS and measure the attenuation of the signal along the 71S Both the UHF power by 5 pC PD and the attenuation make it possible to verify the sensitivity and spatial coverage of the PD detection system. This method doesn\`t require the calibration of injected pulse type UHF signal into the GIS and makes us precisely measure the attenuation in frequency domain.

  • GIS 부분방전 진단 시스템은 가스 절연개폐장치(GIS: Gas Insulated Switchgear) 내부에서 발생하는 UHF 대역의 부분방전 신호를 측정하며 이상신호가 발생하면 위상에 대한 부분방전 패턴을 분석하고 원인을 진단한다. 이러한 GIS 부분방전 진단 시스템은 다수의 변전소에 설치되어 운전되며 중앙제어센터에서 통합하여 관리하고자 할 경우 네트워크와 데이터베이스에 병목현상이 발생한다. 이에 본 논문에서는 Web을 통한 시스템의 분산화와 정보의 구분을 통한 정보의 분류로 병목현상을 줄이는 Web기반 GIS 부분방전 진단 시스템의 개발에 대하여 기술하고자 한다.

  • The main hazard leading to breakdown in GIS(Gas Insulated Switchgear) comes from free conducting particles, which can cross between tee electrodes and cause dielectric failure under the influence of the electric field. Bouncing height of the particle can be an important factor to evaluate the possibility of breakdown occurrence. In this paper, how to estimate, outside a GIS, the bouncing height of the particle was newly suggested when GIS is in service. Both experimental results using 362 kV test chamber and computer simulation results on estimating the height were presented and compared with each other.

  • Laboratory experiments and on site measurements were conducted to detect partial discharges in GIS(Gas Insulated Switchgear) using the UHF(Ultra High Frequency) technique that has been applied many places in the world. Experimental results were in good agreement with calculation in locating a partial discharge source using mock-up GIS. Defect type and its location were inferred after a measurement on 345 kV GIS that showed some abnormal phenomenon. Precise examination inside the GIS coincided with the results inferred from the measurement. High reliability of UHF technique for site application was confirmed.

  • This paper was studied electromagnetic field distribution and damping of PD(Partial Discharge) signal in GIS(Gas Insulated Switchgear). Cut-off frequency of electromagnetic wave propagation modes were computed, electromagnetic field distribution of propagation modes in GIS by FEM(Finite Element Method) were simulated and simulated damping characteristic of electromagnetic waves in GIS by EMTP(Electromagnetic Transient Program) when generated PD pulse. Frequency band of $TE_{mn}/TM_{mn}$ modes were determinated by simulation results of electromagnetic field distribution and were discussed optimal position of UHF sensor from this results. Equivalent circuit was used to simulate signal damping of PD pulse in GIS by EMTP and compared with measured results in laboratory of KERI.

  • UHF method is very effective to diagnosis for partial discharge of GIS. In generally, inner UHF sensor can be attached on sheath cover of GIS under construction for periodic inspection. However, there is no inner UHF sensor for GIS of the domestic substation. We used the outer UHF sensor attached on spacer for GIS of existing substation. In this paper, we report the diagnosis result of partial discharge on 800kV GIS in domestic substation. From these results, we can find the quantity, reason and location of PD and certificate the performance of UHF method for partial discharge diagnosis of GIS.

  • In this paper the experiments of insulation characteristics by temperature change of SF6 gas and insulation characteristics about liquid SF6 in GIS(Gas Insulated Switchgear) were described. From this result, at low temperature, the breakdown voltage was increased with a drop of temperature and an increase of the inner pressure in GIS. The ability of insulation in liquid SF6 was higher than that of the highly pressurized SF6 gas.

A liquid $SF_6$ discharge characteristics was caused by bubble formed evaporation of liquid $SF_6$ and bubble when high voltage apply to electrode. Corona was happened to weak bubble and was proceed to new bubble breakdown.
