Study on die electric characteristics of TIPS-pentacene transistors with variation of electrode thickness (소스/드레인 전극의 두께변화에 따른 TIPS-pentacene 트랜지스터의 전기적 특성 연구)

  • We investigated the electrical properties of tris-isopropylsilylethynyl (TIPS)-pentacene organic thin-film transistors (OTFTs) employing Ni/Ag source/drain electrodes. The gap height between the gate insulator and S/D electrode was controlled by changing the thickness of Ag under-layer(20, 30, 40 and 50nm). After evaporating the Ni under-layer, TIPS pentacene channel material was dropping the gap between the gate insulator and SID electrodes. The electrical proprieties of OTFT such as filed-effect mobility, on/off ratio, threshold voltage and subthreshold slope were significantly influenced by the gap height.

  • The practical pumping speed of a dry pump is considerably lower than the intrinsic speed because of back-streaming through finite gaps of the rotor assembly. The maximum compression ratio and the ultimate pressure of the pump are also directly influenced by the back-streaming rate. Therefore, information on the gap conductance, which determines the back-streaming characteristics of the rotor assembly, is the most important key for estimating the pumping performance of a dry pump. In this paper, the feasibility of calculating analytically the pumping performance of a multi-stage Roots pump, one of the most popular types of dry pumps, by quantifying the gap conductance in a rational way, is discussed.

  • For an electrical insulation design of HTS cable, it is important to understand the dielectric characteristics of insulation materials in L$N_2$ and the insulation type. Generally, the electrical insulation of HTS Cable is classified into two types of the composite insulation and solid insulation type. In this research, we selected the insulation paper/L$N_2$ composite insulation type for the electric insulation of a HTS cable, and studied electric insulation characteristics of synthetic Laminated Polypropylene Paper(LPP) in liquid nitrogen(L$N_2$) for the application to high temperature superconducting(HTS) cable. Furthermore, we compared the breakdown characteristics of the butt gap and bended mini-model cable. It is necessary to understand the winding parameter of insulation paper/LN2 composite insulation.

  • The flow pulsation of two parallel channels is investigated using RANS and URANS approaches. The parallel channels are connected with a small gap and have different cross section areas. The ratio of a right side area and a left side area ($A_R$ / $A_L$) is 0.5. Computations are conducted using a CFX code. Turbulence models adopted for RANS are Reynolds stress model and Shear Stress Transport (SST) model. The bulk Reynolds number is 60,000. Predicted results are compared with the experimental result of Lee et al. and show the flow pulsation with the frequency of about 100 Hz at the center of the gap.

  • This study evaluated the influence of the strength mismatch of HAZ for a plastic ${\eta}$-factor, which is the principle parameter determining the plastic portion of J-integral to assess the fracture toughness of the weldment. The specimen of tensile and hardness test was manufactured from the piping applying narrow-gap welding, and the mechanical properties of weldment, HAZ and a base metal were obtained. To perform the finite element analysis according to the ratio of strength mismatch, the material properties was chosen with the change of strength using the determination method of Ramberg-Osgood constant. Also, the influence of the strength mismatch of HAZ was determined using finite element analysis by those properties.

  • High-speed rotors set a lot of high vibration and stability problems especially when the speed of rotation is going through the first or the second critical speed. The aim of this paper is to investigate the possibility of an active control of a rigid rotor with squeeze film damper which has a good configuration of easily controlled end seal clearances and/or adjustment of a feed pressure. A theoretical method is presented and some numerical results are compared with test measurements. Both results show that the vibration or bit sizes are decreased when the end seal gap decreases with constant supply pressure, and when the supply oil pressure increases with constant seal gap. The experimental results show also a pleasing similarity on both orbit sizes and their decrement ratio compared with theoretical analysis. The possibility of an active control with the squeeze film damper was verified by adjusting the seal gap and the supply pressure.

  • The characteristic of flashover electric discharge has been brought to light in this paper for the situation in which the space and creeping gaps are laid out in series. The result of this study has disclosed the facts that the over all flashover characteristics have three kind of features such as unilateral increase after increase, and increase after decrease in compliance with varied layout method and relative magnitude of gap length, and accordingly there exist a ratio among the magnitudes of gap length and a proper layort method through which the over all flashover voltage reaches the highest. Also involved with this study is the theoretic analysis of flashover characteristics even in the case of creeping electric discharge from hand tip of the gauge, where the over all value of flashover voltage can be estimated from the peculiar value of flashover voltage and flicker voltage for the space and creeping gap within the extent of 5% error.

  • 각종 신호의 디지털 전송에서 Modulation기법에 의해 발생되는 PAPR(Peak to Average Power Ratio)은 전송 신호의 선형성을 보장하기 위하여 고출력 증폭기의 Back-off를 요구하게 된다. 이러한 고출력 증폭기의 Back-off요구로 인하여 원하는 출력에 비해 높은 전력소모량이 필요하여 대출력을 요구하는 장비의 소형화는 크게 제한을 받게 된다. 본 논문에서는 PAR을 감소하기 위한 CFR(Crest Factor Reduction)기법을 위성 DMB용 Gap Filler에 적용하여 장비 크기를 소형화한 사례에 대해 소개한다. 전송신호의 품질에 대한 영향을 최소화 하면서 PAR을 감소하기 위한 방안을 위해 도입된 Simulation 결과와 CFR기법을 적용한 장비에 대한 성능시험 결과 및 필드 테스트 결과에 대해 소개한다.

  • 최근들어 Device 크기가 100nm 이하로 줄어듦에 따라 High Density Plasma Chemical Vapor Deposition(HDP-CVD) 기술로는 100nm 이하의 gap에 Aspect ratio가 6:1 이상 되는 STI(Shallow Trench Isolation) 구조를 Void 없이 채우는 것이 불가능해 지고 있다. 이를 극복하기 위하여 여러 방면으로 연구가 수행되어지고 있다. 그 방법 중의 하나인 Dep/Etch/Dep Cycle이 이번 연구에서 사용되었으며, 일반적인 HDP CVD보다 더 낮은 압력에서 증착과 식각이 수행되었다. 그 결과 다른 여러 방법들보다 좋은 막질을 얻을 수 있었으며, Gap fill 성능을 향상 시킬 수 있었다.

A Comparative Study on Definition of Ratios in Elementary School Mathematics Textbooks between Korean and Japanese (우리나라와 일본의 초등학교 수학 교과서에 제시된 비율의 정의 비교 연구)

  • In this paper, focusing on definitions of terms related to ratio (a:b, external ratio, internal ratio, percentage, proportion, bi-ui-gap(value of a:b)), elementary school mathematics textbooks of Korea and Japan are compared. We can find significant differences between Korean and Japanese textbooks. In Korean textbook, 'bi-yul' includes both of the internal ratio and the external ratio. In Japanese textbooks, the external ratio(amount of unit size) and the internal ratio(wariai) are defined independently. And a:b is set to a subconcept of the internal ratio. In addition, a:b and percentage are presented as methods to express the internal ratio. From these results, the following four implications for developing our mathematics textbooks can be presented as conclusions. First, it is necessary to limit the ratio to mean the internal ratio. Second, it is necessary to define connotatively the ratio as the internal ratio and to set it as a prior concept of a:b. Third, it is necessary to define 1% as the internal ratio 0.01. Fourth, it is necessary to define bi-ui-gap as a number for expressing a:b, when viewing a:b as the expression method of the internal ratio.
