Measurement Feasibility Assessment of Coating Film Thickness using Dual Sensor (이중센서를 이용한 코팅막 두께 측정 가능성 평가)

  • A technical performance of the coating depends greatly on the thickness of painting film or coating film. Therefore the confirmed report of the technique to measure accurately is essential to the coating film thickness for the assessment about a coating quality performance. In this paper, two gap sensors - eddy current gap sensor and capacitance gap sensor - which has a different operating principle were used to measure the thickness of a nonmagnetic substance coating film such as paint, enamel or ceramic that was coated on the metallic material. A capacitance gap sensor was used to measure the distance between the sensor head and a coating film and an eddy current gap sensor to measure the distance between the sensor head and a base metal. Then the thickness of a coating film was obtained by the difference of two measurement value. At this result, the suggested dual sensor can measure an arbitrary film thickness to be coated on a base metal as the measurement value of coating thickness exists accurately within the 2% error.

  • MEMS capacitive gap sensor is developed for measuring abrasion depth of gun barrel rifling. Measuring abrasion depth of gun barrel rifling is very important because it is related with exactness of firing and life of arms. The method using a gap sensor is not to hurt rifling. And it can measure abrasion depth through minimum shooting, because the developed gap sensor can measure from $1{\mu}m{\sim}12{\mu}m$ using Polydimethylsiloxane(PDMS) material and making a stretchable electrode on PDMS. And it's resolution is 1 ${\mu}m$ using capacitive method and MEMS technology.

  • In the present wort the Laser-induced Fluorescence (LIF) technique and Confocal Laser Scanning Microscopy (CLSM) have been combined to measure the temperature distribution across a micro-scale liquid layer as a direct and non-invasive method. Only the fluorescent light emitted from a very thin volume around a focal plane can be selectively detected, and it enables us to measure the liquid temperatures even at the close vicinity of the walls. As an experimental verification, a test section consists of two flat plates (for heating and cooling, respectively) separated by about 240 microns was made, and the methanol mixed with a temperature-sensitive dye, Rhodamine B, was filled in the gap between them. The measured temperature distribution across the gap showed good linearity, which is a typical characteristic of conduction heat transfer through a thin liquid layer. In result, the CLSM-LIF technique proposed in the present study was found to be a promising method to measure the local temperatures in the liquid flow field in microfluidic devices.

  • In continuous galvanizing process at steel making plant, coating weight on the surface of strip that pass through air knife is controlled by the pressure at the chamber of air knife and the gap between the nozzle of air knife and strip. The pressure can be easily measured and controlled. But it is difficult to measure the distance between Air knife nozzle and strip, and also difficult to decide how much distance air knife move. Because, the gap between nozzle and strip varies with the height of air knife, intermesh of stabilizing roll and welding of strips that have different thickness. In this research, we developed a gap sensor that can measure the relative distance between Air knife nozzle and strip. Measuring Service Quality in Academic Libraries (대학도서관 서비스 품질의 측정)

  • The purpose of this research is to evaluate the service quality measure and service quality level between one sample library and the other. Most typically, service quality is defined in terms of reducing the gap between customer expectations and the actual service provided. This research also focuses on gap reduction. Service quality concept was originally discussed in a commercial environment and may require some adaptation to the non-commercial environment of the academic library. A revised service quality measure that developed by P. J. Calvert and P. Hernon(1996) was used for this research. Results showed that service quality measure of this research was reliable(99 service quality items scale's Cronbach Alpha coefficient was 0.983) and was validated by correlation and factor analysis. Therefore service quality measure of this research will be applied positively for academic libraries. And this research showed that the service quality level of sample academic library was inferior to that of the others. The service quality of sample academic library should be improved to meet the customer's needs and expectations immediately.

  • In this paper, we proposed a method to measure the gap between the magnetic pole and the levitated object applying the inductance characteristic which vary according to gap. We made a driving circuit which supply the control input PWM(Pulse Width Modulation) signal and the carrier PWM signal to estimate the gap. Because the inductance is a function of gap, and the current of the carrier signal is a function of the inductance. We investigated the validity of the proposed method through the experimental results.

  • Objectives : The aim of this study was to validated the effectiveness of the information gap in work and daliy life satisfaction. Additionally, this study attempted to verify the mediating effect of self-esteem. Methods : The study examined 327 students who participated in a study on the PSWCI 1st Wave by KCOMWEL. Data were analyzed through descriptive statistics using the reliability test in SPSS 22.0 Ver. Moreover, hypothesis testing was analyzed with covariance based on structure equation modeling (CB-SEM) using Amos 21.0 Ver. Results : The low information gap has a positive effect on satisfaction with work and daily life. Additionally, self-esteem also has a positive effect on each satisfaction measure. However, self-esteem does not have a mediating effect between information gap and each satisfaction measure. Conclusions : The results of the study found the factor of effect on effect factor on beneficiary's satisfaction of industrial accident compensation insurance. Therefore, new ways need to be found that reduce the information gap and increase self-esteem.

  • Recently, a method for detecting animal tinnitus objectively, gap prepulse inhibition of acoustic startling (GPIAS) were reported. However, the GPIAS method is difficult to be directly applied to human tinnitus research because measuring repeatedly startling responses evoked by more than 110 dB SPL acoustic stimuli for human is not easy. In this paper, the auditory late latency response (ALLR) measurement system which can measure conveniently evoked potentials involving the information about the brain cortical activity related with auditory psychologic phenomena such as a tinnitus has been implemented. By using the implemented system, 8 persons with normal hearing sense have been experimented to measure N1-P2 amplitudes of ALLRs evoked by gap prepulse based acoustic stimuli. Through the experimental results, the prepulse inhibitions of all the participants' N1-P2 responses have been observed and their characteristics were evaluated. And it is verified that our implemented system can be utilized as a device for researching and evaluating the objective tinnitus detection method in the future study.

  • A novel method to measure the cell gap of a single-polarizer reflective twisted nematic liquid crystal (TN LC) cell by using a rotating polarizer technique is proposed. By rotating an LC cell, we can measure the cell gap of an LC cell as well as the wavelength dependence of retardation under the condition that the twist angle is known.

  • The research focuses on controlling a gap to measure the surface defect in semi-conductor fabrication device. The measurement is available accompanying a near field image gap control. In this article, a pneumatic servo system is adopted for the near field gap control. The advantage of the pneumatic servo system is on the preventing the possibility of contacting the device to the wapper surface, fence arising fatal damage. Furthermore, the air from the pneumatic system blows the some particle on the wapper during controlling. The target gap is less than 20 $\mu$m and the gap should keep same amount while the device moves around the surface. The experiment by the pneumatic servo control system is done by employing a simple PID control, and the tracking performance is remarkably verified.
