입구부 형상이 수중 카고 펌프의 성능에 미치는 영향 (Effects of inlet shape on the performance of a submerged cargo pump)

  • In this paper, effects of inlet shape on the performance of a submerged cargo pump were numerically studied using a commercial CFD code CFX. The inlet shape, especially the gap between pump and suction well, is an important parameter in a point of view of performances of submerged cargo pump due to its effects on the residual and also hydraulic performance of the pump, respectively. To know the optimized gap, the overall performance degradations were calculated with the gap. In addition to that, the flow field through the gap was investigated to explain the effect of velocity non-uniformity on the performance of the pump impeller.

압축기 갭 유로 형상에 따른 압축기 EER 향상 (Improvement of Compressor EER Based on Shape of Gap Flow Passage)

  • Compressor efficiency must be improved to reduce refrigerator power consumption. In this study, the heat dissipation rate through the compressor housing is increased via gap flow passages between the compressor body and housing. Four types of gap flow passages are considered for achieving the maximum heat-dissipation rate. In addition, thermal analysis is performed to examine the effect of increased heat dissipation rate on the energy efficiency ratio (EER). The results show that the heat dissipation rate, compressor superheat, and compressor EER increased by up to approximately 52%, 3 ℃, and approximately 1%, respectively.

동적 다엽콜리메이터의 Leaf gap이 전산화 치료계획에 미치는 영향 (The dosimetric impact on treatment planning of the Dynamic MLC leaf gap)

  • 목 적 : 최근 사용이 급증하고 있는 미국 베리안사의 이클립스 치료계획 시스템은 치료기에 설치되어 있는 다엽콜리메이터의 충돌 보호를 위해 존재하는 하드웨어적 제한성을 립 갭이라는 설정을 통하여 소프트웨어적으로 극복함으로써 정확한 치료계획을 구현 할 수 있도록 한다. 본 연구에서는 이클립스 치료계획 시스템에 설정되어 있는 립 갭이 치료계획에 미치는 영향을 분석하고 정확한 임상적용에 이용할 수 있도록 하고자 한다. 대상 및 방법 : 연구에 사용되어진 이클립스 치료계획 시스템의 버전은 11.0이다. 시스템에 설정되어 있는 립 갭은 각 치료기와 광자 에너지별로 측정되었다. 일반적으로 0.05~0.30 mm의 값을 가지고 있고, 다엽콜리메이터의 교정상태에 따라 다르므로 일괄되게 적용하지 않고 측정를 통하여 적용한다. 본 연구에서는 세기변조와 용적변조 치료계획을 측정된 각각의 립 갭을 적용하고, 립 갭이 달라질 때마다 치료계획의 영향을 Dmax, CI 등을 이용하여 평가하였다. 결 과 : 동일한 치료계획을 각각의 치료기에서 립 갭을 변화하며 평가하였을 때, 립 갭이 0.05 mm ~ 0.50 mm로 증가할수록 Dmax, CI 의 값이 2~5% 이상 증가하였다. 세기변조방사선치료계획과 용적변조방사선치료계획 모두 동일한 경향을 나타내었고 각 치료계획 간의 유의성은 찾아 볼 수 없었다. 결 론 : 치료기의 다엽콜리메이터의 립 갭 설정은 일반적으로 고유한 측정값을 가지고 있다. 하지만, 다엽콜리메이터의 노후, 교정, 수리 및 점검 후에 립 갭은 변할 수 있고, 이러한 값은 결국 치료계획에 영향을 미치기 때문에 반드시 확인 후 치료에 적용해야 한다. 경우에 따라선 립 갭을 초기 설정값을 유지하는 할 수 있는데, 이는 치료계획에 미치는 영향을 무시할 수 있기 때문에 바람직하지 않다.

GDP갭의 물가영향력 변화 분석 (An analysis of changes in the influence of GDP gap on inflation)

  • 한 나라 전체의 경제활동 수준을 나타내는 경기의 변동과 밀접한 관계를 지닌 지표로서 GDP갭을 꼽을 수 있다. GDP갭은 초과수요압력이나 고용사정에 대한 정보를 제공하기 때문에 중앙은행의 통화정책 수행시 중요한 고려변수로 꼽히고 있다. 그러나, GDP갭 총량만으로는 최근의 경제구조 변화라든지 대내외 경제여건의 영향 등을 살펴볼 수 없는 등 제한적인 부분이 있다. 본 논문에서는 통계적 필터링 기법에 의해 새로운 갭을 추정하고 다양한 물가영향 모형을 설정하여 각 요인들이 인플레이션에 미치는 영향력을 추정하는 한편 동 요인들의 영향력이 시간에 따라 변화하는지도 분석하였다. 분석결과, GDP갭의 물가영향력이 2000년대 들어 대체로 그 영향력이 축소되는 것으로 추정된 반면, 글로벌갭이 국내 물가에 미치는 영향력은 증대된 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 변화는 최근의 저물가 현상이 국내요인과 더불어 세계 경기침체에서 비롯된 수출의 둔화와 같은 국외여건에 영향을 받았다는 것을 의미한다.

레일 개구부에서의 궤도-차량 상호작용에 대한 연구 (A Study of Dynamic Behavior of Track and Train Interaction on Rail Open Gap)

  • 장대레일은 동절기에 기온하강으로 인한 인장력을 발생하는데 중위온도 이하로 떨어져 파단이 발생되면 인장파단과 레일 간에 틈이 발생되며 이를 개구부라 한다. 이 개구부를 차륜이 통과하면 충격하중이 발생하며, 큰 손실이 발생할 수 있는 열차탈선이 발생할 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 동적해석을 위해 개구부를 가진 궤도와 차량의 상호작용을 고려한 동적해석모델을 제안하였다. 궤도와 차량의 선형시스템은 비선형 헤르찌안 접촉 스프링에 의해 연성되었으며 전체 궤도-차량 시스템 운동방정식을 정식화하였다. 그리고 개구부에서의 상호작용 현상을 고려하여 궤도 불균일부의 함수를 정의하고 개구부에서의 전후방 레일 사이의 개구량을 고려하였다. 비선형 방정식을 풀기위해 동적해석은 수정된 Newton-Raphson 방법에 근거한 Newmark - $\beta$ 방법에 의해 수행되었다. 그리고 차량속도, 개구량, 레일지지강성에 따른 매개변수를 조건으로 수치해석을 수행하였다.

The Combined Effects of Ginkgo Biloba Extracts and Aspirin on Viability of SK-N-MC, Neuroblastoma Cell Line in Hypoxia and Reperfusion Condition

  • Objective: The purpose of this study is to investigate the combined effects of ginkgo biloba extract, ginkgolide A and B and aspirin on SK-N-MC, human neuroblastoma cell viability and mRNA expression of growth associated protein43 (GAP43), Microtubule-associated protein 2 (MAP2), B-cell lymphoma2 (Bcl2) and protein53 (p53) gene in hypoxia and reperfusion condition. Methods: SK-N-MC cells were cultured with Dulbecco's Modified Eagle's Medium (DMEM) media in $37^{\circ}C$, 5% $CO_2$ incubator. The cells were cultured for 8 hours in non-glucose media and hypoxic condition and for 12 hours in normal media and $O_2$ concentration. Cell survival rate was measured with Cell Counting Kit-8 (CCK-8) reagent assay. Reverse transcriptase polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) was used to estimate mRNA levels of GAP43, MAP2, Bcl2, and p53 genes. Results: The ginkgolide A and B increased viable cell number decreased in hypoxic and reperfused condition. The co-treatment of ginkgolide B with aspirin also increased the number of viable cells, however, there was no additive effect. Although there was no increase of mRNA expression of GAP43, MAP2, and Bcl2 in SK-N-MC cells with individual treatment of ginkgolide A, B or aspirin in hypoxic and reperfused condition, the co-treatment of ginkgolide A or B with aspirin significantly increased GAP43 and Bcl2 mRNA levels. In MAP2, only the co-treatment of ginkgolide A and aspirin showed increasing effect. The mRNA expression of p53 had no change in all treating conditions. Conclusion: This study suggests that the combined treatments of Ginkgo biloba extracts and aspirin increase the regeneration of neuroblastoma cells injured by hypoxia and reperfusion.

Antimutagenic and Anticarcinogenic Effect of Methanol Extracts of Sweetpotato (Ipomea batata) Leaves

  • The present study was conducted to investigate the antimutagenic potential of the methanolic extract from the leaves of sweet potato (Ipomea batatas, IB) with the SOS chromotest (umu test) and Salmonella typhimurium TA 98 and TA 100. The anticarcinogenic effects were also studied by calculation of the $IC_{50}$ on human cancer cell lines and investigating the function of gap junction in rat liver epithelial cells. The IB extract inhibited dose-dependently the ${\beta}$-galactosidase activity induced spontaneously at concentration of more than 200 mg/ml in S. typhimurium TA 1535/pSK 1002, and decreased significantly (p < 0.01) the ${\beta}$-galactosidase activities induced by mutagen 6-chloro-9-[3-(2-chloroethylamino)proylamino]-2-methoxyacridine dihydrochloride (ICR) at dose of more than 0.4 mg/0.1 ml. The IB extract showed no effect on the spontaneous reversions of S. typhimurium TA 98 and 100 but benzo(${\alpha}$)pyrene (BaP)-stimulated reversions were decreased dose-dependently (p < 0.01) at the concentration of more than 100 mg/ml. The $IC_{50}$ value of stomach cancer cells was lower than that of normal rat liver epithelial cells, but the values of colon and uterine cancer cell lines were similar to those of normal rat liver epithelial cells. The transfer of dye through gap junctions was not affected by treatment of the IB extracts at any concentration during treatment periods. The simultaneously treatment of IB extract and 12-O-tetradecanoylphorbol-13-acetate (TPA) effectively prevented the inhibition of dye transfer induced by TPA 1 hour after treatment at all exposed concentrations. The number of gap junctions was significantly (p < 0.01) increased by the treatment with IB extract at concentrations of more than 40 ${\mu}g$/ml. The inhibition of the expression of gap junction proteins by TPA (0.01 ${\mu}g$/ml) was recovered dose dependently by the simultaneous treatment of IB extracts. Our data suggest that Ipomea batatas has antimutagenic and anticarcionogenic activity in vitro.

  • The life of modern society is going to be more scientific and rationalized. According to these trends, our dietary life was also dramatically changed. Family restaurants grew up by 30% every year was became the place of meeting and relaxation from the place of selling and eating. These demands request to improve an atmosphere, a facility and a service in family restaurants. The objective of the present study is to investigate the effect of the gap of service in family restaurant on customer loyalty based on Oliver's gap theory. These results could be contributed to make the strategy of marketing in family restaurants. The purpose of this study in detail is as below. First, it is determined the difference of its expectation and its outcome regarding on the family restaurant service. Second, it is investigated the relationship of the gap of family restaurant with customer satisfaction. The suggestions of the present study are as below. First, it is necessary to get a novel CI strategy to clean the environment of restaurant and to induce the customer desires for young females as a dominant customers. Second, it is need to improve the interior of restaurant and to develop foods for optimal dietary environments. Third, based on the customer loyalty of the present study, customer satisfaction belongs to optimal dietary environment and utilization, whereas the negative gap of service is commercial dietary goods and employee's service. Therefore, the continuous loyalty along with personal satisfaction intends to improve the maximized atmosphere and utilization on use. The main strategy of marketing could be focused on the improvement of commercial dietary goods and utilization for the satisfaction and demands of customers.

Surface Treatment of Air Gap Membrane Distillation (AGMD) Condensation Plates: Techniques and Influences on Module Performance

  • Air Gap Membrane Distillation (AGMD) is one of several technologies that can be used to solve problems fresh water availability. AGMD exhibits several advantages, including low conductive heat loss and higher thermal efficiency, due to the presence of an air gap between the membrane and condensation wall. A previous study by Bhardwaj found that the condensation surface properties (materials and contact angle) affected the total collected fresh water in the solar distillation process. However, the process condition differences between solar distillation and AGMD might result in different condensation phenomena. In contrast, N. Miljkovic showed that a hydrophobic surface has higher condensation heat transfer. Moreover, to the best of our knowledge, there is no study that investigates the effect of condensation surface properties in AGMD to overall process performance (i.e. flux and thermal efficiency). Thus, in this study, we treated the AGMD condensation surface to make it hydrophobic or hydrophilic. The condensation surface could be made hydrophilic by immersing and boiling plate in deionized (DI) water, which caused the formation of hydrophilic aluminum hydroxide (AlOOH) nanostructures. Afterwards, the treated plate was coated using hexamethyldisiloxane (HMDSO) through plasma-enhanced chemical vapor deposition (PECVD). The result indicated that condensation surface properties do not affect the permeate flux or thermal efficiency significantly. In general, the permeate flux and thermal efficiency for the treated plates were lower than those of the non-treated plate (pristine). However, at a 1 mm and 3 mm air gap, the treated plate outperformed the non-treated plate (pristine) in terms of permeate flux. Therefore, although surface wettability effect was not significant, it still provided a little influence.

경사각이 좁은 틈새를 가지는 환상공간 내부 풀비등 열전달에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Orientation on Pool Boiling Heat Transfer in Annulus with Small Gap)

  • 경사각이 대기압하의 포화상태인 물의 풀비등에 미치는 영향을 조사하기 위해 실험을 통한 연구를 수행하였다. 연구를 위하여 5mm의 틈새간격을 가지는 하부유로개폐 상태인 환상공간을 고려하였다. 환상공간의 내부에 설치된 튜브를 가열하였으며 튜브의 직경과 길이는 각각 25.4mm와 500mm이다. 경사각은 수평부터 수직까지 변경하였다. 본 실험의 결과를 틈새간격이 더 큰 환상공간 및 단일튜브에 대한 결과와 서로 비교하였다. 작은 틈새간격을 가지는 환상공간의 경우 경사각이 열전달에 미치는 영향은 그다지 크지 않음을 확인하였다. 그러나 환상공간이 수평상태인 경우 80kW/$m^2$에서 임계열유속이 관찰되었다. 액체 교란의 정도와 기포군집형성이 환상공간 내부 풀비등의 주된 열전달 기구로 이해된다.
