  • The domestic cultural contents industry has been growing rapidly since the 2000s. The government has designated the cultural content industry as the next generation domestic growth industry. In order to cultivate this, various regulations are made and the budget is supported. Local governments are preparing various policies of cultural contents industry. This study presents the economic ripple effect by analyzing the status level and competence of the cultural contents industry in region based on LQ(location quotient) analysis and GAP analysis. Through this, this study will examine the competitiveness of the cultural content industry with high added value in Busan and draw out the plan for activation of cultural contents. Also, this study will compare competitiveness of Busan with other regions and show the economic contribution of Busan City.

  • This study analyzes the trend of the gender wage gap and its sources in the Korean labor market for the years 1985-2004. Following Oaxaca and Ransom (1994), the gender wage gap is composed of the productivity-related gap and non-productivity-related gap (unobserved productivity gap and discrimination). Empirical findings indicate that both the productivity-related gap and non-productivity-related gap have dwindled, while the decline of the former far excelled that of the latter. The non-productivity-related gender wage gap is much larger for married women than for single women, possibly implying a lower unobserved productivity of married women because of their childcare responsibilities. The non-productivity-related gap is also very substantial in the male-dominated occupations as compared to the female=dominated occupations, supporting the existence of network externalities in employment.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the effects of women 's perception of economic risk on the fertility gap. This study analyzed how the economic risks such as the risk of unemployment and poverty, the risk of housing insecurity, the risk of financial instability and the risk of economic downturn affects the gap between the actual number of children and the ideal number of children. For this purpose, exploratory factor analysis, reliability analysis, correlation analysis and multiple regression analysis were performed using the KGSS(Korean General Social Survey) 2014 dataset. The result of the analysis shows that women who perceived economic risk seriously had fewer children but had a higher fertility gap. This study suggested policy suggestions based on the above results.

  • This study examines the association between family policies and family gap using data for 14 OECD countries. As family policies have different assumptions about women's roles and include variant sub-policies, this study identify two distinct family policies: 'employment support policy' to support women as employed workers and 'caregiving support policy' to support women as caregivers. Meanwhile, women's wage cannot be determined by the effect of 'only' family policy. Therefore, analysis model includes variant macro structure supposed to affect women's labor status and wage, like labor market structure, wage structure(compression), women's social status and economic status, and examines interaction effects between family policies and these labor market and social structures using Fuzzy-Set Qualitative Comparative Analysis (FSQCA). The FSQCA result shows that relatively low family gap is associated with the conjunctual causation of developed 'employment support policy' and compressed wage structure.

  • GAP or GAP-co-BO based energetic thermoplastic elastomers (ETPEs) were synthesized by changing the hard segment content percent in the range of 30~45% by 5% difference. Thermal and mechanical properties of GAP-co-BO based ETPEs were compared to those of GAP based ETPEs. FT-IR results showed that the capability of forming hydrogen bond increases with increasing the hard segment content in GAP/GAP-co-BO based ETPE, and also the GAP-co-BO based ETPEs are stronger than GAP based ETPEs in the hydrogen bond formation. DSC and DMA results showed that the glass transition temperature (Tg) of GAP based ETPEs increased with the increment of the hard segment content, while the Tg of GAP-co-BO based ETPEs was maintained even the hard segment content increased. The storage modulus at room temperature of the GAP-co-BO based ETPEs was higher than that of the GAP based ETPEs. This was due to the strong phase separation behavior of the hard and soft segment of GAP-co-BO based ETPEs, which further resulted in the stronger breaking strength and lower tensile elongation at break point for GAP-co-BO based ETPE than the GAP based one.

  • This study was conducted to develop the design methodology of gap slabs for the post-tensioned concrete pavement (PTCP). The gap slabs were considered as unbonded, half bonded, and bonded types. According to the types of the gap slabs, the curling stresses were investigated first under the environmental loads. The stresses due to the vehicle loads were analyzed considering both the single and tandem axles. The method to calculate the prestressing amount was suggested by comparing the combined stresses due to both loads and the allowable tensile stress of concrete. The prestressing amount for the unbonded type gap slab could be designed by considering only the gap slab; however, for the half bonded and bonded gap slabs, the whole PTCP slab should be analyzed to properly design the prestressing amount.

  • This study dealt with the critical gap of roundabouts in Korea. The objective was to develop a model to derive critical gaps by analyzing gap acceptance patterns. In this context, the present study had a particular emphasis on collecting the data for accepted or rejected gaps. The main contributions of the study were as follows. First, accepted or rejected gaps were counted and measured through video frame analysis on the traffic patterns of 20 roundabouts in Korea. Based on the data, a gap acceptance model, guaranteeing the statistical significant in their parameters, was developed in the framework of the Logit model. Second, the critical gap calculated from the developed model was evaluated to be 2.584 seconds as a whole. Also, the critical gap in urban areas was estimated to be 2.744 seconds, whilst the critical gap in rural areas was estimated to be 2.416 seconds. Finally, critical gaps of roundabout in Korea were found to be smaller than those in foreign countries by about 1.5~2.5 seconds.

  • In the construction industry, "Green" is emerging as a keyword of new growth engine. Since green construction competitiveness is essential for contractors' survival and growth, it is important to understand what constitutes green construction competitiveness. The objective of the study is to identify elements of green construction competitiveness and to discuss relationships between their importance and current level based on the Gap analysis. A better understanding of the elements of green construction competitiveness assists contractors in formulating green strategies. It also provides insight into what motivates contractors in establishing related policies and regulations. The study identifies that in general there exists a gap between the importance and current level of green construction competitiveness. It also demonstrates that CEO' competence shows a less gap between the importance and current level but firms' competence is an area of weakness. Finally a substantial gap is observed in the field of green R&D strategies and sub-contracting partners.

  • With the prolonged COVID-19, the existing academic gap is widening. The purpose of this study is to provide homeroom teachers with a visual confirmation of the academic achievement gap in grades and classrooms through academic achievement analysis, and to use this to help them design lessons and explore ways to improve the academic achievement gap. The data of students' Korean and math diagnostic evaluation scores at the beginning of the school year were visualized as clusters using the K-means algorithm, and as a result, it was confirmed that a meaningful clusters were formed. In addition, through the results of the teacher interview, it was confirmed that this system was meaningful in improving the academic achievement gap, such as checking the learning level and academic achievement of students, and designing classes such as individual supplementary instruction and level-specific learning. This means that this academic achievement data analysis system helps to improve the academic gap. This study provides practical help to homeroom teachers in exploring ways to improve the academic gap in grades and classes, and is expected to ultimately contribute to improving the academic gap.
