  • Objective : The purpose of this study was to understand the game world experience and peer interaction of students with disabilities in the community. Method : In this study, Giorgi's phenomenological method was used to understand the game world experience and peer interaction of two students with disabilities in the community. The data collection about the situation and the context of the subjects was conducted over three times of interviews, until no new data. Meaning units through the four steps for Giorgi's scientific phenomenology were analyzed in the context of the overall data. Result : Two students with disabilities in the community had to spend time at home with physical limitation and alienation, and their leisure activities was mainly using the computer and television. Restrictions of leisure activities wad the cause of difficulties of social accessibility, and they need the correct thinking and self-control in the use of the time. Due to the game for fun, they have no interact with peers. On the other hand, most of conversation about the game were with families. Conclusion : Students with disabilities had a physical and psychological difficulties were feeling pleasure through the game. They need the correct thinking and self-control in the use of the time, and need an alternative solution for a reckless game use.

  • As the development of game graphic technology, games include many characters and various virtual worlds. In this paper we proposed the architecture which can make efficient game world through ontology technology. We applied Gaia theory to this architecture. And this game world can have ecological feedback structure. So we proposed the Gaia game architecture which can increase the interaction between user and game world.

  • This study evaluates the effect of structured debriefing for a business simulation game for university students. The program provides an authentic learning experience of real-world business management by allowing learners to make decisions related to R&D, marketing, production, and finance through a business simulation game, and check the results in real time. In 2022, University A and B each ran a business simulation game-based program as an extra-curricular activity. University A conducted a traditional instructor-led debriefing where the instructor explained the summarized process and results, while University B implemented a structured debriefing which had been developed based on Gibbs' and 3D models. To assess the effect of the structured debriefing compared to the traditional instructor-led debriefing, business knowledge and entrepreneurship competencies were measured three times. Repeated measures ANOVA was used to test for the differences between the two groups and to examine interaction effects between group and time. The structured debriefing group achieved statistically significantly higher academic scores than the traditional instructor-led debriefing group at the post-test and in 2 weeks. There was no statistically significant difference between the groups in terms of entrepreneurship competencies. There was no interaction effect between group and time, both in academic achievement and in entrepreneurship competencies. In conclusion, the simulation game-based program integrated with the structured debriefing session is more likely to have a stronger impact on academic achievement and its retention.

  • In this paper we propose a serious game for experience of music performance, which allows users to readily enjoy musical playing, even if the player has little or no experience in playing musical instruments. This game makes it easier for users to correctly perform given melodies along with standard performance, using a score-adjusting algorithm that can cope with the particular errors commonly made by beginners. This music performance is achieved by the agent to interpret the gestural sign of the user. We understands the interaction of the user and the agent as a communication model from the Peircean Semiotic perspectives.

  • User participation, potentiality of modification, and interaction are some of significant features of game, and in the same sense, mod - user-created additions and modifications to an existing game - represents these aspects of game. Therefore, this study shows the possibility of customer involvement in the game development process through a case study of Half-life mod.

  • This article combines literature and empirical research based on space perception theory and the case study of mixed reality game "The Fragment." It is concluded that the mixed reality scene under space perception has a three-level visual definition. This definition carries out a corresponding level analysis of the scenes of the "The Fragment" game and draws up the constituent factors of the mixed reality game scene characteristics. Finally, through questionnaire data investigation and analysis, it is verified that the three factors of virtual reality coexistence, human-computer interaction, and local serviceability can better explain the characteristics of mixed reality game scenes. At the end of the study, it is concluded that the definition of three levels of visual hierarchy and the constituent factors of mixed reality game scenes can provide reference and help for other mixed-reality game designs and a brief description of future research plans.

  • This study is an interaction design study which can improve the usability of random item boxes that are used as in - game contents in Korean mobile games. Currently, Korean mobile game sales continue to rise. Sales of random item boxes are the main reason for the increase in sales. Problems with the use of random item boxes have been continuously raised, and legal regulations are currently in place. When using random item boxes, the user can not know the exact percentage information. There is a concern that this expresses gambling. In this context, we have studied interaction design to improve the usability of random item boxes, and conducted user online surveys and in - depth interviews to provide users with a better game experience. As a result, it is shown that providing percentage information intuitively when using random item boxes can enhance user experience. Through this study, it is expected that interaction design research will be actively conducted to provide a better user experience when using random item boxes.

  • This paper proposes the adaptive way that intended screen applies the same proportion of the game screen to mobile devices having various resolution. Generally speaking, clipping is the way to show only part of screen with designated proportion and is widely used in game industry. It costs additionally because developers make game screens fit various resolutions. However, the proposed method of this study saves developing time and cost if automatically calculated output is possible according to designated screen proportion and devices' aspect ratio. This suggested algorithm makes it possible to display game screen in same proportion automatically to various resolution and the mini-map is automatically fixed regardless of the mobile devices' resolution.

  • Pay-to-Win (P2W) is a billing system that pays cash in-game and has a impact on results and it has been criticized by users. Research on the adolescent users and the effect of the P2W is insufficient. In this regard, this study compares the game billing in P2W and non-P2W based on self-esteem. As a result, systems showed the interaction effect on the game billing with the self-esteem. In the non-P2W, game billing increased when the self-esteem was high, whereas the billing increased rapidly as the self-esteem was low in the P2W.
