Valuation of Online Game Developers Using Real Options Analysis: the Case of Korea (실물옵션을 이용한 온라인게임 개발사 가치평가 사례연구)

  • To sustain the competitive edges in the online game industry, many publishers invest online game developers at early stages. However, the fair value of online game developers at early stages cannot be calculated with traditional valuation methods due to the high level of uncertainties in technology and market. Based on the literature reviews, we recommended real options analysis for the proper valuation methods of online game developers at early stages, and compared it with other methods using "Bluehole Studio" investment case. The case study result showed that real options analysis is better in explaining the market value as expected.

  • This study aims to extract additional elements to the existing game value evaluation using Delphi technique to 23 game experts. As a result of reviewing the characteristics of the development model using the evaluation model of the existing game contents, it was found that the evaluation factor was selected when selecting the content. The Delphi analysis was conducted two times, the first was the expert FGI and the second was the Delphi questionnaire. More detailed elements were presented in the related items such as results, technology transfer and dissemination, and details for promoting commercialization. Through focus group interviews, we extracted additional factors and predicted market size, growth potential, regulatory and market appeal and risk through market analysis of content success in the game industry. This will allow the industry to understand market size, growth potential, regulation, market appeal and risk through a market analysis of its success targets. This study suggests that the proposed evaluation factors can be applied to the entire game and cultural contents industry and will also help to construct market factors such as market value evaluation of contents, goal and goal setting, selection of entry method, and strategic factors.

  • In this paper, I examines the spatial representation of the change in the environment of the digital platform, and play the game with a focus on the spatial characteristics of a digital game. First, what is the Spatial characteristic of digital games? This section applies to a digital game "theory of Lefebvre", and the spatial representation of the practice space, divided into representational space were explored. Second, how to express dealing Is there space in the genre of adventure games? The spatial characteristics of the game medium through the Spatial characteristic of the adventure game genre that is most striking examples was analyzed whether the expression in any way. Consequently, the spatial characteristics of the digital game studies of the game as well as think a very large role in the development direction. In addition, this case analysis of the expression is the basis of this digital game that is utilized in many areas, and I am sure many possibilities to find a positive role in the game.

  • On today, online community that is irrespective to geometrical area and time has been appeared by information technology and development of internet. It has been significant decision method of a personal and company. And online community is variously classified by it's purpose. Among online community, online game community is be roughly classed as community in online game and community in related online game. Community in related online game community is means for interchanging informations using e-mail, bulletin board, so as on. These information contain game playing, game contents so as on. And community in online game is implemented as team, item exchange, chatting etc. Importance of community in online game and community in related online game have been increased. But online game community is not distinguished, comparing with importance of it. So, in this paper, we study on the case analysis of cyworld's community that developed characteristic community. Cyworld community is suitable for new generation and korean life style, method of adaption online game. This paper should be profitable for community in re lated online game, community company to planning, developing a characteristic community.

  • In the area of mobile game, the job of data analysis is very important. As the mobile game market is being expanded, the characteristics of the market have been so much changed, that the contents updating and marketing strategy should be built on thorough understanding and analysis result of the gamers' needs and their play pattern. Thus the importance of the mobile game management system can not be overemphasized. However, in practice, most of the mobile game companies are small scale, and they have intrinsic problem to provide successful game service to user with a dedicated operating team. To overcome these problems, this paper suggests an efficient mobile game management system based on our already developed mobile game. And the effectiveness of our system is illustrated by our case examples such as prompt response to user question or refund request. Our proposed system also played an important role to plan additional contents update, providing scientific data analysis result on user's play pattern and purchase trend.

  • When people enjoy something, they want to be repeated and focus on actions that are rewarded. The same applies to games. The purpose of this study is to ensure that the game continues to enjoy itself over and over again. Based on the artificial reward of the game, two reward methods of the game are studied. It finds Converged Difficulty Reward elements of action game through Confirmatory factor analysis in AMOS.

  • In this paper, in order to improve the online game fatigue system for the purpose of use in South Korea and China's online game fatigue system analysis and comparison and find the problem and make improvements..Poisoning Prevention Youth Network game system, although many of the practical implementation of the research is very inadequate.So here we do it by comparing South Korea and China's online game fatigue system, promote physical fatigue perfect game addicted youth to further resolve the issue.

  • Existing researches have been limited to one-dimensional analysis of game experience (enjoyment, addictive user, usability). However, we considered to analyze complex sentiments of mobile game users due to diffusion of multitasking in these days. In this study, We focused on 'collective sentiments' of mobile game users and studied 'connected emotions and mental model' of them. To support theoretical assumption, we analyzed social data which reflect intention and unintended behavior of users. As a result, multiple consumption of service, diversified patterns of information recommendation and quest experience based on networking were critical to mobile game UX.

  • In this paper, one of the traditional game, Gonu game, is implemented and experimented. The Minimax algorithm was applied as a technique to implement the Gonu game. We proposed an evaluation function to implement game in Minimax algorithm. We analyze the efficiency of algorithm for alpha beta pruning to improve the performance after implementation of Gonu game. Weights were analyzed for optimal analysis that affected the win or loss of the game. For the weighting analysis, a competition of human and computer was performed. We also experimented with computer and computer. As a result, we proposed a weighting value for optimal attack and defense.

  • This paper discusses the shaping of game culture and the socio-cultural functions of game-making events based on co-production ideation by meta-analysis. Research has shown that the experience in this event helps to reshape the perception of the game culture, which eventually will lead to the extended meanings of game culture. It can also be seen that the game-making event serves as an educational platform for building the next generation competencies.
