In the present work, the corrosion properties of Mg-xSn (x = 1, 3, 5, 7 and 9 wt.%) alloys have been investigated. Potentiodynamic polarization and immersion tests were carried out in 3.5% NaCl solution of pH 7.2 at room temperature to measure the corrosion properties of Mg-xSn (x = 1, 3, 5, 7 and 9 wt.%) alloys. With increase of the Sn contents, the volume fraction of the $Mg_2Sn$ phase was increased. The corrosion rate of Mg-xSn alloys was increased up to 7 wt.%Sn and decreased above 9 wt.%Sn. Initiation of galvanic site during immersion mainly occurred at Mg/$Mg_2Sn$ interface and propagation went into ${\alpha}$-Mg. For this reason, corrosion properties of Mg-xSn (added from 1 wt.%Sn to 7 wt.%Sn alloys) alloys are decreased because the galvanic site was increased with increasing Sn addition. In Mg-9wt.%Sn alloy, however, the corrosion site were changed from Mg/$Mg_2Sn$ interface to ${\alpha}$-Mg/$M_2Sng$ interface in lamellar structure. Preferentially corrosion of ${\alpha}$-Mg/$M_2Sn$ interface in lamellar structure impeded corrosion propagation went into ${\alpha}$-Mg.
Pure copper, Cu-1.1wt%Cd and ACSR(Aluminum Conductor Steel Reinforced) have been used as Catenary Materials in Electric Railway System. Since these materials may have chance to be exposed to the corrosive environments like polluted air, acid rain and sea water, it is important not only to investigate the corrosion characteristics but also to measure corrosion rates in various corrosive environments. In order to examine corrosion characteristics according to the dissolved oxygen content, pH, chloride ion concentration ion, and the addition of Cd to Cu, a series of tests such as potentiodynamic polarization. a.c impedance spectroscopy and galvanic corrosion tests were carried out in these materials. Results showed that the addition of Cd to Cu and chloride ion in the solution have an adverse effect on the resistance to corrosion. Additionally, Galvanic currents between Al and steel wires of ACSR were confirmed by using ZRA(zero resistance ammeter) method.

Recently, with the tendency of lightening, high-strength and high-speed in the marine industries such as marine structures, ships and propellers, it is rapidly enlarged the use of the aluminium alloy. Therefore, there occurs much interest in the study on corrosion characteristics of aluminium alloy. This paper was studied on the corrosion characteristics of Al-Mg alloy propeller used for a coasting vessel. Under the various pH of marine environment, the corrosion test of Al-Mg alloy was carried out. And thus polarization resistance, corrosion potential, and current density behavior of Al-Mg alloy and galvanic corrosion behavior of Al-brass and Al-Mg alloy coupled Al 5086 and SS 400 for hull were investigated. The main results are as following: 1. The corrosion potential of Al-brass propeller is more nobel than materials for hull, but that of Al-Mg alloy propeller is low or similar to materials for hull. Therefore, the galvanic corrosion of hull due to Al-Mg propeller don't occur. 2. The polarization resistance of Al-Mg alloy in sea water of pH 4 is highest, and corrosion current density of Al-Mg propeller is the most controlled. 3. As pH value decreases, potential showed Evans polarization diagram approaches cathodic potential. The corrosion current density of Al-Mg alloy is controlled to anodic reaction rate, therefore, the corrosion reaction of Al-Mg alloy is anodic control.
Galvanic current measurement, polarization curves, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy and weight loss test were used to study the corrosion behavior of carbon steel before and after carbon fibers coupling to the carbon steel in simulated concrete pore solutions, and the film composition on the steel surface was analyzed using XPS method. The results indicate that passive film on steel surface had excellent protective property in pore solutions with different pH values (13.3, 12.5 and 11.6). After coupling with carbon fibers (the area ratio of carbon steel to carbon fiber was 12.31), charge transfer resistance $R_{ct}$ of the steel surface decreased and the $Fe^{3+}/Fe^{2+}$ value in passive film decreased. As a result, stability of the film decreased and the corrosion rate of steel increased. Decreasing of the area ratio of steel to carbon fiber from 12.3 to 6.15 resulted in the decrease in $R_{ct}$ and the increase in corrosion rate. Especially in the pore solution with pH 11.6, the coupling leads the carbon steel to corrode easily.
Austenitic stainless steels have been widely used for various systems of nuclear power plants. Among these stainless steels, small pipes with diameter less than 14 inch have been produced in the form of seamless pipe. Annealing and cooling process during the manufacturing process can affect corrosion properties of seamless stainless steels. Therefore, 12 inch-diameter of as-received 304L stainless steel pipe was annealed and aged in this study. Intergranular corrosion resistance was evaluated by ASTM A262 Practice A, C, and E methods. The degree of sensitization was determined using a DL-EPR test. U-bend method in an autoclave was used to evaluate the SCC resistance in 0.01 M $Na_2S_4O_6$ or 40% NaOH solution at $340^{\circ}C$. As-received specimen showed relatively high degree of sensitization and intergranular corrosion rate. Carbon segregation was also observed near grain boundaries. Annealing treatment could give the dissolution of segregated carbon into the matrix. Aging treatment could induce segregation of carbon and finally form carbides. Microstructural analysis confirmed that high intergranular corrosion rate of the as-received seamless pipe was due to micro-galvanic corrosion between carbon segregation and grains.
Purpose: This study aimed to compare the effects of three interventions on pain, blood pressure, and pulse rate during infiltration anesthesia in patients about to undergo gamma knife surgeries. Methods: The three interventions employed in a university-affiliated Hospital in J City, South Korea were as follows: EMLA cream plus Vapocoolant spray (Vapocoolant, n=30), EMLA cream plus 10.0% Lidocaine spray (Lidocaine, n=30), and EMLA cream only (EMLA, n=30). The equivalent control-group pre test - post test study design was used. Pain was assessed subjectively using the numeric rating scale (NRS) and objectively using a Galvanic Skin Response (GSR) tester. NRS scores were assessed after infiltration anesthesia and the GSR was assessed during infiltration anesthesia. Blood pressure and pulse rate were assessed twice: before and after infiltration anesthesia. Data were collected between August 3, 2016 and March 24, 2017. Results: NRS scores after infiltration anesthesia and the GSR during infiltration anesthesia were significantly lower in the Vapocoolant group than in the Lidocaine and EMLA groups (F=13.56, p<.001 and F=14.43, p<.001, respectively). The increase in systolic blood pressure (F=4.77, p=.011) and in pulse rates (F=4.78, p=.011) before and after infiltration anesthesia were significantly smaller in the Vapocoolant group than in the Lidocaine and EMLA groups; however, no significant differences were observed in diastolic blood pressures (F=1.51, p=.227). Conclusion: EMLA cream plus Vapocoolant spray was the most effective intervention to relieve pain and to lower increase in systolic blood pressure and pulse rate caused by infiltration anesthesia for stereotactic frame fixation. Thus, application of Vapocoolant spray in addition to EMLA cream is highly recommended as a nursing intervention for patients undergoing gamma knife surgeries.
This study was carried out of to determine effects of high voltage pulsed galvanic stimulation on the soleus. target muscle of the sciatic nerve, of white rat two condition. The coditions included normal, and denervated muscle. The histochemical, ultrastructural observations were made. The following results were obtains. 1. The histochemical observations found the inflammatory cells between muscle bundle and muscle fiber since 1-week control group. In addition, nucleus located in the muscle fiber was frequently observed. 2. The experimental group showed a similar phenomenom to the normal muscles in terms of glycogen granules in the 1-week group, where as fiber were not distinguishable in4-weeks group which indicated that the degenerative changes had occured. 3. The NADH-TR reaction showed that the red muscle slightly increased in the 2-weeks group, and the distinguished was impossible the red fiber 4. The ultrastructures of the muscles in both groups were severely bend, and a number of vacuoles were observed due to the destruction of mitochondria..

Al-Mg alloy, an open rack vaporizer(ORV) material was reported to be corroded in seawater environments though the ORV material was coupled to thermally sprayed Al-Zn alloy functioning a sacrificial anode. In addition, the corrosion behavior based on the calculated corrosion potential did not match the observed corrosion behavior. Hence, the goal of this study is to get better understanding on Al or Al-Mg alloy coupled to Al-Zn alloy and to provide the calculated corrosion potential representing the corrosion behavior of the ORV material by immersion test, electrochemical tests, and calculation of corrosion and galvanic potential. The corrosion potentials of Al and Al alloys also depended on alloying element as well as surface defects. The corrosion potentials of Al and Al-Mg alloy were changed with time. In the meantime, the corrosion potentials of Al-Zn alloys were not. The corrosion rates of Al-Zn alloys were exponentially increased with zinc contents. The phenomena were explained with the stability of passive film proved by passive current density depending on pH and confirmed by the model proposed by McCafferty. Dissimilar material crevice corrosion (DMCC) test shows that higher content of zinc caused Al-Mg alloy corroded more rapidly, which was due to the fact that higher corrosion rate of Al-Zn makes [$H^+$] and [$Cl^-$] more concentrated within pit solution to corrode Al-Mg alloy. Considering electrochemical reactions within pit as well as bulk in the calculation gives better prediction on the corrosion behavior of Al and Al-Mg alloy as well as the capability of Al-Zn alloy for corrosion protection.
This study aims to provide data on attitudes towards the use of Homecare beauty devices in correlation to narcissism of women between ages 30-59. Through statistical analysis of 563 survey questions, data displayed that respondents' age, level of education, marital status, economic status, and career status showed a strong correlation with implicit narcissism, while explicit narcissism only showed a correlation with age and career status. The most popular skincare location was shown to be 'self-provided at home', and the most popular item purchased being 'galvanic devices'. Secondly, attitudes towards the use of homecare beauty devices in correlation towards implicit narcissistic respondents were only to the consideration of its use, while explicit narcissists displayed a strong correlation between the purchase of a product and the recommendation of others. While this is the first study on attitudes towards homecare beauty devices in relation to a personality-based trait like narcissism and it displayed meaningful results, a more in-depth study in the future dealing with a larger region and respondent groups of a wider age and gender group should be undertaken.
