Fuzzy Linear Parameter Varying Modeling and Control of an Anti-Air Missile

  • An analytical framework for fuzzy modeling and control of nonlinear systems using a set of linear models is presented. Fuzzy clustering is applied on the aerodynamic coefficients of a missile to obtain an optimal number of rules in a Tagaki-Sugeno fuzzy rule-set. Next, the obtained membership functions and rule-sets are applied to a set of linear optimal controllers towards extraction of a global controller. Reported simulations demonstrate the performance, stability, and robustness of the controller.

퍼지 이론을 이용한 수중 운동체의 자세계산 혼합 알고리즘 (Mixing algorithm for attitude computation of underwater vehicle using fuzzy theory)

  • In this paper, attitude computation algorithm for a strap down ARS(Attitude Reference System)of an underwater vehicle has been studied. Attitude errors o the ARS using low-level gyroscopes tend to increase with time due to gyroscope errors. To cope with this problem, a mixing algorithm of accelerometer aided attitude computation has been developed. The algorithm can successfully bound the error increase for cruising motion, but it gives instantaneously large errors when a vehicle maneuvers. To improve the performance in case of vehicle's maneuver, a new attitude computation mixing algorithm complying state of vehicle and to manage the adjustment of the gains which are invariant in the existing algorithm. In addition, a gain scheduling method is applied to fuzzy inference composition process for real-time computation. Monte Carlo simulation results show that the proposed algorithm provides better performance than the existing algorithm.

  • In this paper, a fault tolerant control problem is considered for a class of nonlinear system formulated in a gain scheduling form with LMI-based H-inf control technique Key benefits of this proposed scheme are demonstrated in the simulation of an electromagnetic suspension system with actuator and/or sensor failures, and the method is compared with the convensional state-feedback and output-feedback controller. It is clearly observed that the proposed control scheme shows an improved output performance in comparision with convensional methods.

Alleviating the Tower Mechanical Load of Multi-MW Wind Turbines with LQR Control

  • This paper addresses linear quadratic regulation (LQR) for variable speed variable pitch wind turbines. Because of the inherent nonlinearity of wind turbines, a set of operating conditions is identified and then a LQR controller is designed for each of the operating points. The feedback controller gains are then interpolated linearly to get a control law for the entire operating region. In addition, the aerodynamic torque and effective wind speed are estimated online to get the gain-scheduling variable for implementing the controller. The potential of this method is verified through simulation with the help of MATLAB/Simulink and GH Bladed. The performance and mechanical load when using LQR are also compared with those obtained when using a PI controller.

  • In this research a fault-tolerant and bumpless switching control is proposed for boiler systems used in the power plants. Firstly, three operating points are selected to control the nonlinear boiler through the full operational range, and the $H_{\infty}$ loop shaping controller and the model-based predictive controller(MBPC) are designed. To prevent the windup and bump problems which are caused by the actuator saturation and the controller switching, an anti-windup and bumpless transfer technique is adopted to the $H_{\infty}$ loop shaping controller. Also the constrained gain-scheduling technique is applied to MBPC to achieve the same objective. Secondly, the fault-tolerant control technique is proposed to continue the control action without stopping the boiler operation even in case of some faults. Through various simulation studies, the performances of the proposed control techniques are demonstrated.

Effects of multiple MR dampers controlled by fuzzy-based strategies on structural vibration reduction

  • Fuzzy logic based control has recently been proposed for regulating the properties of magnetorheological (MR) dampers in an effort to reduce vibrations of structures subjected to seismic excitations. So far, most studies showing the effectiveness of these algorithms have focused on the use of a single MR damper. Because multiple dampers would be needed in practical applications, this study aims to evaluate the effects of multiple individually tuned fuzzy-controlled MR dampers in reducing responses of a multi-degree-of-freedom structure subjected to seismic motions. Two different fuzzy-control algorithms are considered, a traditional controller where all parameters are kept constant, and a gain-scheduling control strategy. Different damper placement configurations are also considered, as are different numbers of MR dampers. To determine the robustness of the fuzzy controllers developed to changes in ground excitation, the structure selected is subjected to different earthquake records. Responses analyzed include peak and root mean square displacements, accelerations, and interstory drifts. Results obtained with the fuzzy-based control schemes are compared to passive control strategies.

Femtocell Networks Interference Management Approaches

  • Small cells, particularly femtocells, are regarded a promising solution for limited resources required to handle the increasing data demand. They usually boost wireless network capacity. While widespread usage of femtocells increases network gain, it also raises several challenges. Interference is one of such concerns. Interference management is also seen as a main obstacle in the adoption of two-tier networks. For example, placing femtocells in a traditional macrocell's geographic area. Interference comes in two forms: cross-tier and co-tier. There have been previous studies conducted on the topic of interference management. This study investigates the principle of categorization of interference management systems. Many methods exist in the literature to reduce or eliminate the impacts of co-tier, cross-tier, or a combination of the two forms of interference. Following are some of the ways provided to manage interference: FFR, Cognitive Femtocell and Cooperative Resource Scheduling, Beamforming Strategy, Transmission Power Control, and Clustering/Graph-Based. Approaches, which were proposed to solve the interference problem, had been presented for each category in this work.

  • 사물인터넷 (Internet of Things)은 우리의 실생활에서 그 범위가 급격히 커지면서, 스마트 모바일 장치들에 대용량 실시간 데이터를 모바일 환경에서 고속으로 처리 및 전송하기에 적합한 처리능력이 요구되고 있다. 배터리 파워가 중요한 모바일 기기에서 성능과 에너지 보존성을 높이기 위해 big.LITTLE 멀티코어 구조와 같은 비대칭 멀티코어 구조가 널리 사용되고 있다. 에너지 보존성을 높이기 위해서는 에너지 효율이 높은 LITTLE 코어의 활용도를 높여하며, 이룰 위해 본 논문에서는 실시간 태스크를 대상으로 하여 마감 시간을 보장하는 범위 내에서 LITTLE 코어에 우선적으로 할당하는 코어 선택 알고리즘을 제안하다. 또한, 시뮬레이션을 통하여 기존 기법에 비해 마감시간을 보장하면서 에너지 소비량을 줄 있 수 있음을 보였다.

이종 네트워크 하향링크의 셀간 간섭 조정 및 사용자 스케줄링을 위한 저복잡도 알고리즘 (A Low-Complexity Algorithm for Inter-Cell Interference Coordination and User Scheduling in Downlink Heterogeneous Networks)

  • 이종 네트워크(HetNet)란 매크로셀 내에 소형셀이 혼재한 네트워크이다. 이종 네트워크에서는 대형셀로부터 소형셀 사용자에게 미치는 간섭이 소형셀 사용자의 성능을 열화시키는 주 원인 중 하나이며, 이 간섭을 줄이기 위해 향상된 셀간 간섭 조정기법(eICIC)이 필요하다. 기존의 eICIC 관련 연구에서는 프레임별 채널 변화를 거의 고려하지 않고 네트워크의 장기 처리율을 최대화하는 데 치중되어 성능 향상이 제한적이었다. 이 논문에서는 네트워크 전체 효용을 최대화하기 위해 매 프레임마다 동적으로 셀간 간섭을 제어하고 사용자를 스케줄링하며, 전수검색보다 계산 복잡도가 낮은 새로운 알고리즘을 제안한다. 제안된 알고리즘이 기존 알고리즘보다 네트워크 전체 처리율을 향상시키며, 사용자의 수가 많을 때 사용자간 공평성을 향상시킴을 컴퓨터 모의실험을 통해 보인다.

제한된 피드백을 사용하는 결합 전송 공간 분할 다중 접속 기술을 위한 코드북 설계와 집중 스케줄링 (Codebook Design and Centralized Scheduling for Joint Transmission SDMA with Limited Feedback)

  • 본 논문에서는 협력 무선 통신 시스템의 순방향 링크에서, 각 이동국의 제한된 피드백 정보를 이용하여, 인접한 다수의 기지국들에서 동시에 코히어런트(coherent)하게 하나의 이동국에 데이터를 전송하는 결합 전송 공간 분할 다중 접속(Joint Transmission Space Division Multiple Access: JT-SDMA) 기술을 제안한다. JT-SDMA 기술을 위해, 공간상관도가 높은 각 collaborative base transceiver station(C-BTS)의 하향 링크 채널과 공간상관도가 낮은 다른 C-BTS들 간의 하향 링크 채널 특성에 적합한 unitary precoding 행렬 코드북을 디자인하였다. 또한, 제안하는 JT-SDMA 기술에서, 각 이동국의 제한된 피드백 정보량을 이용하여 다중 사용자 다이버시티 이득을 증가시키는 클러스터에서 수행되는 집중 스케줄링 기술을 제안하였다. 시뮬레이션의 통해 JT-SDMA 기술이 제한된 피드백 정보량을 이용하여, 다중 사용자 다이버시티 오더가 충분하지 않은 환경에서 셀 간 간섭을 효과적으로 억제하여, 클러스터 전송 용량을 향상시킬 수 있음을 확인하였다.
