승차감 향상을 위한 에어셀시트의 모델링 및 능동제어 (Modeling and Active Control of an Air-Cell Seat for Ride-Comfort Improvement)

  • In this paper, an active vibration control with the use of an air-cell seat for passenger cars is investigated. The roles of the air-cell inserted between the polyurethane foam of the seat and seat cover are first to extend the seat's capability to adopt various shapes of human body and to improve the ride-comfort against road disturbances. The air-cell seat is modeled as a 1-d.o.f. spring-damper system. Because an exact modeling of the air-cell itself is alomost impossible, its dynamic characteristics are analyzed through experiments. A road-adaptive gain-scheduled sky-hook control for the air-cell seat system is proposed. The skyhook gains are scheduled in such a way that the acceleration level transmitted to human body on various road conditions is minimized. Simulations and experimental results are provided.

  • A gain scheduling approach for the suspension control of a nonlinear MAGLEV System is presented. We show that this technique is ver useful for improving not only performance to the operational disturbances originating aerodynamic force but also robustness to the uncertainty of payload. As a scheduling variable, even though the external disturbance need to be estimated in real time, but the additive measurement is not required to do it. Some simulations show that the gain scheduling control system performs very well comparing with other method using a nonlinear feedback linearization or a fixed gain linear feedback.

  • This paper proposes a fast H$\sub$$\infty$/ gain scheduled controller that stabilizes the uncertain nonlinear system with exogenous signals. The controller is constructed at a distinct and fixed value of exogenous signals using H$\sub$$\infty$/ syn-thesis methodology. Then the constructed controller set is switched for the wide range of variation of exogenous signals. Using the derivative gain, the number of constructed and engaged controllers for the fast varying exogenous signal is reduced.

  • This paper focused on the design of an efficient temperature controller for a plant with a wide range of operating temperatures. The greater the temperature difference a plant has, the larger the nonlinearity it is exposed to in terms of heat transfer. For this reason, we divided the temperature range into five sections, and each was modeled using ARMAX(auto regressive moving average exogenous). The movement of the dominant poles of the sliced system was analyzed and, based on the variation in the system parameters with temperature, optimal control parameters were obtained through simulation and experiments. From the configurations for each section of the temperature range, a temperature-based gain-scheduled controller (TBGSC) was designed for parameter variation of the plant. Experiments showed that the TBGSC resulted in improved performance compared with an existing proportional integral derivative (PID) controller.

  • An automated storage and retrieval machinery for high rack warehouse systems is developed in order to stack the various kinds of productions. However, according to increase in the rack height, the long lead time should be taken. In stacker crane systems, the variations of the lifting height and the load generate the vibration of lifting machine, and it makes a Position control to be difficult Therefore, the reduction of vibration will be important factor for saving the lead time and the damage of Productions. This paper deals with a position control of stacker crane in automated high rack warehouse system by using a gain-scheduled control algorithm via a LMI method, where the variations of elastic coefficient of the stacker crane's post are considered.

  • This paper describes an approach for synthesizing a Fuzzy Logic Controller(FLC) that combines the benefits of fuzzy logic control and fuzzy logic gain scheduling for the F/A-18 aircraft. Specially, fuzzy rules are utilized on-line to determine the denoralization factor(Κ) of a feedback fuzzy controller based on the dynamic pressure(Q) indicateing the region of the flight envelop the aircraft is operating in. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed FLC provides excellent compensation for time-varying and/or nonlinear characteristics of the aircraft, and that it also exhibits satisfactory robustness with noisy air data sensors.

  • In a networked control system (NCS), time delays which are larger than one sampling period can change the control period. As a result, it may cause system instability. This paper presents a control method for an NCS using the controller area network (CAN), where time delays arise in the control loop. Specifically, a simple yet efficient method is proposed to improve control performance in the presence of time delays. The proposed method, which can be regarded as a gain scheduling method, selects a suitable LQ control gain among several gains to deal with the problems due to the change of control period. It is found that the gain can be scheduled in terms of the relation between the gain and the sampling period, which is represented by first-order algebraic equations. The proposed method is evaluated with an inverted cart pendulum system where the actuator and sensors are connected through the CAN. Experiment results are presented to show the efficiency of the proposed method.

  • The pitch control system in wind turbines becomes more and more important as the wind turbines are larger in multi-MW size. PI controller has been applied in most pitch controllers and it has been known that gain-scheduling is essential for pitch control of wind turbines. A demo model of 2 MW wind turbine which represents the whole dynamics of wind turbine including dynamic behaviors of blade, tower and rotational shaft is given in the commercial Bladed S/W for real wind turbines. In this paper, some results on step responses of the pitch PI controller and effectiveness of gain-scheduled pitch PI controller are presented through the Bladed S/W for the 2 MW wind turbine.

  • A method of autopilot gain-scheduling is presented for missiles which have heavy aerodynamic coupling between pitch and yaw channels due to high maneuverability. Pitch and yaw, autopilot are cross-coupled, and their feedback gains are scheduled by total acceleration and bank angle for given Mach number and height. Bank angle information is obtained by using a simple estimator. By computer simulation, it is shown that the proposed method is superior to other existing methods.

  • Parameter set of an LPV system is divided into a number of subsets so that robust feedback gains may be designed for each subset of parameters. A concept of quasi-invariant set is introduced, which allows finite steps of delay in reentrance to the set. A feasible and positively invariant set with respect to a gain-scheduled state feedback control can be easily obtained from the quasi-invariant set. A receding horizon control strategy can be derived based on this feasible and invariant set.
