A Study on the GUI Design of Fashion Customizing Web : Centered on Custom Knitware (패션 커스터마이징 웹 GUI디자인연구 : 커스텀 니트웨어를 중심으로)

  • The need for customized products has also been increasing as more active consumers consume according to their values in recent years. Accordingly, fashion customizing web is becoming popular, but because custom freedom is low, we want to increase custom freedom by applying knitwear. To this end, a theoretical review was conducted through prior research and literature research on customization, knit design, and GUI, and based on this, a case analysis was conducted focusing on knit-making programs and fashion customizing web. Knit designs have more considerations than other fashion design process, resulting in more UIs, so users should use visual elements that are easily recognizable. Therefore, a draft assessment item was derived based on the preceding survey and three Delphi surveys were conducted on experts based on the draft. Each item was modified and deleted during the Delphi research process to produce the Custom Knitware Web GUI Design Guide. Through this study, we were able to identify the need for intuitive understanding and application of knit custom functions in GUI design of custom knitwear web. Through this research, it is expected that this data will be used to improve the usability of custom knitwear websites and to refer to knit design fields that utilize knit machines.

  • Ambient Media (or ambient displays, Wisneski et al 1998) is one of newly emergent dynamic design objects, representing information through subtle changes of everyday objects and environments. Unlike the existing GUI-based media focusing on the situation that a user is concentrating the media, ambient media enable a user to be peripherally aware of the information without his/her concentration. In order to design ambient media, it is necessary to interpret the basic elements of dynamic changes in physical space and the proper method to apply them for peripherally representing information in ambient media. The aim of this study is to investigate dynamic design elements and the method to apply them for ambient media design in physical space. We explored and refined the type of the dynamic design elements, analyzing dynamic qualities of ambient media cases as well as various time based design fields. As a result, 4 dynamic elements - tempo, connectivity, intensity and rhythm- were proposed. By literature reviews related to peripheral awareness in psychology or ambient media, we analyzed the characteristics of dynamic design elements. Based on that, we developed a new ambient media, 'Cyber Pung-Kyung', and applied dynamic elements for designing the prototype system. The research outcome is expected to contribute designing ambient media which can represent information peripherally or centrally as needed. Understanding the dynamic design elements is helpful for designing various time based design outcomes as well.

  • The touch screen phone launched domestically in Korea, unlike the existing plane UI, it applied a cubic shape of 3D UI which provides three dimensional solid graphic. This study proposes to examine the correlation between the users' experience of 3D GUI, which were made by two different companies, and the brand. From this point of view, this study sets up a hypothesis about intimate correlation between individual differentiated brand and the user experience. Base on that, a model was designed. This study measured the satisfaction of user experience through the disclosure and non-disclosure of brand, focusing on 3D GUI cases which were launched so far, and it demonstrated that there was a clear difference in the degree of satisfaction. Through this examine, a brand was confirmed as one of the important element of user experience in using the 3D GUI that was launched competitively by companies. Therefore, the result of this study suggest that the designers need to establish strategies that make the brand as the core subject of design during the process of manufacturing product and service.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze and define user's emotional satisfaction factors to the PC OS GUI image. The study is to investigate the relationship between PC OS GUI Image and Sensitive Vocabula교 based on user's emotional preference. 47 user preferred sensitive words are collected by the initial survey. Through the similarity test, 47 words are narrowed down to 20 comprehend words. The semantic differential methods is used in the final survey with 5 step questionnaire. From this process, user preferred the GUI design that is vocabularized as Clear, Easy, Safety, Stability. Additionally, the result shows that the image of Clear is related to Safety and the image of Easy is related to Stability. The result of the study could be used in design PC OS GUI as base data.

  • The game industry using Smart phones and related market is rapidly growing every year and a graphical view of the game fun and games player is in a diverse environment improvement. Game visuals in the design of the application of the user's perspective, very simple tricks, unlike such as the game's environment is pc, but more sophisticated and to improve the quality of the game, planning is required. Ranking the top rankings, game downloads this study, therefore, has recently structured questionnaire based on the case in existing research conducted a survey. The surveyed more than 200 million people downloaded the Onmyoji game users in China was limited to the preferences of each gui survey analyzed. Preference shown in graphic identify success factors should be improved to lighting of the basic elements of design / ux ui and applications should be taken into account when designing the game.   • Head-Up Display, an information-providing display, is a device that provides necessary information through a vehicle window for a driver when driving, with which the driver secures the visibility and acquires information necessary for driving. Head-up displays in early days were mostly installed in imported vehicles but increasingly, being installed in medium and large-sized domestic vehicles, they secures convenience of driving and information acquirement. The information display element of each of currently released brand cars not only has limits in consistency and in displaying interface but also reveals the limitation of a way to apply GUI, being applied to dot reflective form in terms of the technology type. Accordingly, this study draws real time information element described as necessary during driving through case survey and analysis, and aims to provide a user with new GUI guideline through transparent display technology recently developed based on results analyzed with priority of POI(Point of Interest) information.

  • 최근 컨버전스 현상이 가속화 됨에 따라 모바일의 다양한 기능이 휴대 가능한 하나의 단말기에 통합되는 흐름을 보여준다. 이에 휴대형 통합단말은 항상 네트워크에 연결됨으로써 개인적인 종합 미디어로서 가능할 수 있게 되었다. 디지털 미디어, 특히 이용자의 개성과 능동성이 강조된 퍼스널 미디어에서는 인터페이스가 매우 중요한 요소로 부각된다 할 수 있다. 이와 더불어 기능이 고도화, 복합화 됨에 따라 매체의 기술적 제약사항보다는 사용자의 필요가 우선 고려되는 추세에 있다. 따라서 사용하기 쉬운 사용자 인터페이스를 디자인하는 문제가 더욱 중요시 되어진다고 할 수 있다. 이에 본 논문에서는 앞으로 더욱 가속화될 기능의 고도화, 복합화에 따라 기능이란 요소를 가지고 사용성을 극대화 시킬 수 있는 모바일 인터페이스 디자인 가이드라인을 제시하는데 목적이 있다.

The Reminding Words Evaluation Method for Icon Design (연상단어 평가를 통한 아이콘 디자인 연구)

  • As the importance of interface became emphasized recently, function of icon as an element that helps operation and formative function as an aesthetic element are becoming emphasized. Specially, various research methodologies for measuring the understanding degree of users are being attempted in functional aspect, however, they are facing limitations as user evaluation method of quantitative investigation for statistical analysis became overly dependent on the consent from majority. To overcome such limitation, a methodology of measuring sensibility as aesthetic impression or individuality based on the system of emotion or system of understanding of users and designing icon based on the measurement is being attempted continuously. Therefore, this study suggested an evaluation method using reminding words and conducted an empirical study to apply results on the icon design by applying the evaluation method on icon design of printing products to measure the user sensibility and understanding level. Through this process, this study intended to research summaries on the design evaluation method which based on the evaluation of user sensibility and understanding level and to debate effective design methodologies through the process of applying these summaries on the project. The intention was to progress discussion from practical application perspectives apart from the textbook type discussion by applying a research methodology through concrete cases. This study objectified sensibility and understanding level of users in the icon design aspect, suggested a methodology that can be applied on the design, and it is expected to be used when progressing the icon and GUI design.
