In this paper, we developed an adoptable deployment method to the transmitting antennas of a ground based GPS system for aircraft. Aircraft generally uses satellite providing GPS signals for accurate position information, but transfers to ground based GPS signals time to time due to jamming signals or bad weather. The position accuracy of the ground based GPS system is highly dependent on the number and position of the GPS transmitting antennas. In this research, we found an algorism to predict the DOP due to the location of the GPS transmitting antennas and had an accurate DOP 2.5 area into 3-dimension from 0 to 10 km by 12 transmitting antennas.

This paper investigates observability properties of strapdown INS aided by a GPS antenna array. The motivation to consider a GPS antenna array is that the lever-arms between the GPS antennas and IMU play an important role in the estimation of vehicle attitude and biases of IMU. It is shown that time-invariant INS error models are observable with measurements from at least three GPS antennas. It is also shown that time-varying error models are instantaneously observable with measurements from three antennas. Numerical simulation results are given to show the effectiveness of multiple GPS antennas on estimating vehicle attitude and biases of IMU when IMU has considerable magnitude of biases.

In this paper, two dualband internal antennas for GPS/PCS handset are proposed. At first, the monopole antenna with parasitic dipole element is designed to print PCB of handset directly. At second, the antenna with bended loop structure is designed to bend to use internal space of handset maximumly. The proposed dualband internal antennas provide a 2:1 VSWR bandwidth of over 19.1 % which are possible to cover two bands at once. the antennas have a gain between -0.4 and 3.33 ㏈i at all bands and they have almost omni-directional patterns.
In this paper, observability properties of a multiantenna GPS measurement system for the estimation of errors in INS are presented. It is shown that time-invariant INS error models are observable with measurements from at least three GPS antennas on the vehicle. There is at least one unobservable mode with two antennas. There are three unobservable modes with one antenna. It is also shown that time-varying INS error models are instantaneously observable with measurements from three GPS antennas. A numerical simulation results are given to verify the effectiveness of the multiantenna measurement system on the INS error estimation. In the simulation, a GPS measurement system is considered in which a trade-off between computational load and accuracy of estimation is achieved.
In this paper, an antenna for telematics is proposed. It operates at GPS/GSM frequency-bands and it can be installed inside of a vehicle. There is a great difference between the proposed antenna and commonly used antennas. It needs not to use a dielectric with a high permittivity since it is formed on a sheet of FR4 with only 1mm thickness. Thus, it is possible to cut costs and make process of manufacture simple. Planar inverted-F antenna(PIFA) for GSM and microstrip antenna(MSA) for GPS is designed and PIFA-MSA antenna is proposed. The height is lower than that of commonly used antennas. And polarization of the PIFA and MSA is arranged perpendicularly for isolation improvement of each port, thus isolation of these two antennas is improved. Also, it is sufficient for the all specifications.

Incorrect ambiguity integer of GPS make a large error on attitude determination. In this paper one method is suggested for estimating the multipath of GPS carrier measurement while attitude determination. The multi-antenna system consists of 4 antennas have the same clock error help to make attitude determination effectively. If the distance between antennas is a half wavelength, it is not necessary to search the ambiguity integer and the multipath of GPS carrier measurement can be estimated. The results of the simulation are shown and analyzed.
This paper deal with estimating the direction of arrival (DOA) of GNSS signal using two antennae for spoofing detection. A technique for estimating the azimuth angle of a received signal by applying the interferometer method to the GPS carrier signal is proposed. The experiment assumes two antennas placed on the earth's surface and estimates the azimuth angle when only GPS signal are received without spoofing signal. The proposed method confirmed the availability through GPS satellite placement simulation and experiments using a dual antenna GPS receiver. In this case of using dual antenna, an azimuth angle ambiguity of the received signal occurs with respect to the baseline between two antennas. For this reason, the accurate azimuth angle estimation is limits, but it can be used for deception by cross-validating the ambiguity.
Recently, it is considered to combine the GPS receiver with the GLONASS for the improvement of performance and accuracy. This combined system reduces errors by SA for GPS, and has merits to select receivable satellite. In this paper, aperture-coupled patch antenna and small sized ceramic dielectric patch antenna are designed and implemented for GPS/GLONASS combined receiver, which show a wideband characteristics with circular polarization. The manufactured antennas have the bandwidth more than 240 MHz, VSWR less than 1.5:1, and the axial ratio less than 3dB, and satisfy required characteristics of the GPS/GLONASS antenna.

In this paper, newly proposed dual-band microstrip antennas using stacked inverted-L-shaped parasitic elements are presented for GPS $L_1(1.575GHz)$ and $L_2(1.227GHz)$ bands. For making dual band which has large interval, ${\lambda}/4$($L_1$ band) inverted-L-shaped parasitic elements were stacked at both side of radiation apertures on the half-wavelength($L_2$ band) patch antennas. The resonance in the parasitic elements occurs through coupling to the patch. Next, due to using circular polarization at GPS, ${\lambda}/4$($L_1$ band) inverted-L-shaped parasitic elements was stacked using sequential rotation technique on the patch and both side of the diagonal corners of the antenna were eliminated to make dual-band circular polarization. The designed circular polarized antenna's dimensions are $0.43{\lambda}L{\times}0.43{\lambda}L{\times}0.06{\lambda}L$ (${\lambda}L$ is the free-space wavelength at 1.227 GHz). Measured -10 dB bandwidths was 120 MHz(7.6%) and 82.5 MHz(6.7%) at GPS $L_1$ and $L_2$ bands. and 3 dB axial ration bandwidths are 172 MHz(10.9%) and 25 MHz(2.03%), respectively. All of these cover the respective required system bandwidths. Within each of the designed bands, broadside radiation patterns were observed.
In 1995 the VSOP satellite, which is called MUSES-B in Japan, will be launched under the VLBI Space Observatory Programme(VSOP) promoted by ISAS(Institute of Space and Astronautical Science) of Japan. We are now developing the GPS Receiver(GPSR) and On-board Orbit Determination System. This paper describes the GPS(Global Positioning System), VSOP, GPSR(GPS Receiver system) configuration and the results of the GPS system analysis. The GPSR consists of three GPS antennas and 5 channel receiver package. In the receiver package, there are two 16 bits microprocessing units. The power consumption is 25 Watts in average and the weight is 8.5 kg. Three GPS antennas on board enable GPSR to receive GPS signals from any NAVSTARs(GPS satellites) which are visible. NAVSATR's visibility is described as follows. The VSOP satellite flies from 1, 000 km to 20, 000 km in height on the elliptical orbit around the earth. On the other hand, the orbit of NAVSTARs are nearly circular and about 20, 000 km in height. GPSR can't receive the GPS signals near the apogee, because NAVSTARs transmit the GPS signals through the NAVSTAR's narrow beam antennas directed toward the earth. However near the perigee, GPSR can receive from 12 to 15 GPS signals. More than 4 GPS signals can be received for 40 minutes, which are related to GDOP(Geometric Dillusion Of Precision of selected NAVSTARs). Because there are a lot of visible NAVSTARs, GDOP is small near the perigee. This is a favorqble condition for GPSR. Orbit determination system onboard VSOP satellite consists of a Kalman filter and a precise orbit propagator. Near the perigee, the Kalman filter can eliminate the orbit propagation error using the observed data by GPSR. Except a perigee, precise onboard orbit propagator propagates the orbit, taking into account accelerations such as gravities of the earth, the sun, the moon, and other acceleration caused by the solar pressure. But there remain some amount of calculation and integration errors. When VSOP satellite returns to the perigee, the Kalman filter eliminates the error of the orbit determined by the propagator. After the error is eliminated, VSOP satellite flies out towards an apogee again. The analysis of the orbit determination is performed by the covariance analysis method. Number of the states of the onboard filter is 8. As for a true model, we assume that it is based on the actual error dynamics that include the Selective Availability of GPS called 'SA', having 17 states. Analytical results for position and velocity are tabulated and illustrated, in the sequel. These show that the position and the velocity error are about 40 m and 0.008 m/sec at the perigee, and are about 110 m and 0.012 m/sec at the apogee, respectively.
