  • In this paper, code and carrier tracking error which resulted from spoofing signal was analyzed by simulation. For a start, the types of spoofing signals and methods were classified. For the simulation, search spoofing method is assumed because a perfect position and velocity are not generally informed to spoofing device. In most cases, the tracking error is increased but a complete deception does not happen because of the inherent anti-spoofing characteristics of the GPS signal.

  • A multi-channel digital GPS receiver has been developed including a RF-to-IF engine (engine 1), a digital signal processing engine (engine 2) with a microprocessor interfacing, and a navigation software. A high speed SiGe heterojunction bipolar transistor (HBT) as a active device has been mounted on chip-on-board (COB) type hybrid ICs such as LNA, mixer, and VCO in RF front-end of the engine 1 board. A 6-channel digital correlator together with a real-time clock and a microprocessor interface has been realized using an Altera Flex 10K FPGA as well as ASIC technology. Navigation software controlling the correlator for GPS signal tracking, retrieval and storing a message retrieval, and position calculation has been implemented. The GPS receiver was tested using a single channel STR2770 simulator. Successful navigation message retrieval and position determination was confirmed.

  • Drones in the contemporary landscape have transcended their initial public utility, expanding into various industries and making significant inroads into the private sector. The majority of commercially available drones are presently equipped with GPS receivers to relay location signals from artificial satellites, aiming to inform users about the drone's whereabouts. However, a notable drawback arises from the considerable distance over which these location signals travel, resulting in a weakened signal intensity. This limitation introduces vulnerabilities, allowing for the possibility of location manipulation and jamming attacks if the drone receives a stronger signal than the intended location signal from satellites. Thus, this paper focuses on the safety assessment of drones relying on GPS-based location acquisition and addresses potential vulnerabilities in wireless communication scenarios. Targeting commercial drones, the paper analyzes and empirically demonstrates the feasibility of GPS spoofing attacks. The outcomes of this study are anticipated to serve as foundational experiments for conducting more realistic vulnerability analysis and safety evaluations.

  • In this paper, we design a local signal to improve a tracking performance of time-multiplexed binary offset carrier (TMBOC) signal, which was adopted in modernized global positioning systems (GPS). Specifically, considering that TMBOC signal includes BOC(6,1) components, we first obtain local signal by evenly dividing sub-carrier of TMBOC(6,1,4/33) by the period of a BOC(6,1) pulse. Finally, we remove side-peaks of TMBOC(6,1,4.33) autocorrelation via combination of partial correlations given from designed local signal and solve the ambiguity problem. From numerical results, when performing signal tracking using the designed local signal, we demonstrate that the improved tracking error standard deviation (TESD) performance is offered as compared its autocorrelation and the conventional correlation functions.

  • In this paper, we developed a traffic signal control system for emergency situations that can minimize loss of property and life by actively controlling traffic signals in a certain section in response to emergency situations. When the emergency vehicle terminal transmits an emergency signal including identification information and GPS information, the surrounding image is obtained from the camera, and the object is analyzed based on deep learning to output object information having information such as the location, type, and size of the object. After generating information tracking this object and detecting the signal system, the signal system is switched to emergency mode to identify and track the emergency vehicle based on the received GPS information, and to transmit emergency control signals based on the emergency vehicle's traveling route. It is a system that can be transmitted to a signal controller. This system prevents the emergency vehicle from being blocked by an emergency control signal that is applied first according to an emergency signal, thereby minimizing loss of life and property due to traffic obstacles.

  • We produced continuous vertical time series of 14 permanent GPS stations operated by National Geographic Information Institute by processing about five years of data. Then we computed the height velocities by using a linear regression fitting of those time series, and did principal component analysis to understand the overall characteristics of the series. The prominent signal obtained as the first mode of PCA results showed an average of 4.2 mm/yr vertical velocity. The values of the first mode eigenvectors were consistent at all sites. Thus, we concluded that all the 14 stations are uplifting nearly at the same velocity for the test period. Then changes of precision before and after removing the first mode signal from the 14 height time series were analyzed. As a result, the precision improved 34.8% on average.

  • 본 연구에서는 PCS(개인통신서비스)를 이용한 신호처리를 하기위한 시스템의 구축과 그의 응용에 관해서 알아보고자 한다. 신호처리를 위해서는 GPS(Global Positioning System)신호를 사용하였으며 그 응용을 위해서 GIS(Geographic Information System)를 이용하고자 한다. 한편 개발된 시스템을활용하기 위해서 기존의 GIS(Geographic Information System)에의 적용을 위한 기초실험을 하고자 한다.

  • It is necessary that Fail-Safe Seaway technology providing a continuous navigation solution though fault of navigation system is occurred in sea. This paper focus on signal processing of GPS receiver, one of receivers using the software radio technology to implement a integrated radio navigation system including satellite-based and ground-based navigation systems. It is difficult to implement the software GPS receivers using a commercial processor because of the heavy computational burden for processing the GPS signals in real time. This paper proposes an efficient multi-bit GPS signal processing scheme to reduce the computational burden for processing the GPS signals in the software GPS receiver. The proposed scheme uses a compression concept of the multi-bit replica signals and patterned look-up table method to generate the correlation value between the GPS signals and the replica signals.
