  • This paper deals with the data processing method relative to reference frames through the calculation of absolute coordinates of permanent GPS site which was established at Sungkyunkwan University. In this paper. we computed the ITRF97 coordinates with high precision (0.0001 ppm) from GPS data analysis. Also, we derived the accurate coordinates referred to WGS84 and Korean Geodetic Datum (KGD) using transformation parameters provided. ITRF97 coordinates were computed by using the GIPSY-OASIS II (GOA II) software and the algorithms for determining the position developed Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL). The coordinates referred to WGS84 and KGD were derived from the transformation parameters provided by International Earth Rotation Service (IERS) and National Geography Institute (NGI). The parameters determined by NGI were calculated from the 2000 project of the establishment of geocentric coordinate system. We tested its availability through the comparison of the coordinates obtained from local GPS data analysis.

  • In case of more than 50km baseline length, the correlation between receivers is reduced. Therefore, there are still some rooms for improvement of its positional accuracy. In this paper, the stochastic modeling of the ionospheric delay is applied and its effects are analyzed. The data processing has been performed by constructing a Kalman filter with states of positions, ambiguities, and the ionospheric delays in the double differenced mode. Considering the medium or long baseline length, both double differenced GPS phase and code observations are used as observables and LAMBDA has been applied to fix the ambiguities. The ionospheric delay is stochastically modeled by well-known 1st order Gauss-Markov process. And the correlation time and variation of 1st order Gauss-Markov process are calculated. This paper gives analyzed results of developed algorithm compared with commercial software and Bernese.

  • This study deals with the precise GPS data processing refer to ITRF2000 through the calculation of absolute coordinates of cadastral satellite station which were established by purpose of cadastral surveying. We used the Gipsy-Oasis II software developed Jet Propulsion Laboratory to estimate daily position of GPS stations with orbital and atmospheric parameters. Especially, we carried out ionospheric delay, tropospheric delay, data existence whether or not and quality control check of observation data during pre-processing. The standard deviation of absolute coordinates was determined better than ${\pm}4mm$ from GPS precise analysis. The RMSE of difference between the result of this study and existing result by using Bernese s/w shows ${\Delta}X={\pm}0.079m$, ${\Delta}Y={\pm}0.019m$ and ${\Delta}Z={\pm}0.031m$.

  • The International GNSS Service (IGS) has prepared for a transition from the relative phase conte. variation (PCV) to the absolute PCV, because the terrestrial scale problem of the absolute PCV was resolved by estimating the PCV of the GPS satellites. Thus, the GPS data will be processed by using the absolute PCV which will be an IGS standard model in the near future. It is necessary to compare and analyze the results between the relative PCV and the absolute PCV for the establishment of the reliable processing strategy. This research analyzes the effect caused by the absolute PCV via the GPS network data processing. First, the four IGS stations, Daejeon, Suwon, Beijing and Wuhan, are selected to make longer baselines than 1000km, and processed by using the relative PCV and the absolute PCV to examine the effect of the antenna raydome. Beijing and Wuhan stations of which the length of baselines are longer than 1000km show the average difference of 1.33cm in the vertical component, and 2.97cm when the antenna raydomes are considered. Second, the 7 permanent GPS stations among the total 9 stations, operated by Korea Astronomy and Space Science Institute, are processed by applying the relative PCV and the absolute PCV, and their results are compared and analyzed. An insignificant effect of the absolute PCV is shown in Korea regional network with the average difference of 0.12cm in the vertical component.

  • Network-RTK GPS positioning technique based on national CORS(Continuous Operating Reference Station) and wireless internet access as like VRS and FKP was developed to overcome the limitations of traditional RTK technique. In Korea, NGII(National Geographic Information Institute) provides network-RTK service based on 51 CORS and mobile internet network. The purpose of this study is the accuracy evaluation of the height determined by GPS VRS technique based on network-RTK, So, in this study GPS VRS positioning was accomplished through 1st level BM line located at Sancheong~Jinju and $2^{nd}$ level BM line located at Geochang~Sancheong and the average error of the each BM line was calculated as 2.15cm and 1.80cm respectively. This result shows that GPS VRS height positioning can be used in $3^{rd}$ and 4th public BM leveling and also work regulation is needed to apply the GPS VRS height positioning.

  • The tendency of erosion and accretion of the coast has occurred by the wanton development of a shore so that establishing the plans of nature preservation and development according to shoreline change is in demand. In this study, six DGPS positioning are executed in the periodic interval of about 2 months to choose coastal area of Gangnung, Gangwon-do and the observation data which is post-processed about 50cm accuracies on the Gangnung regular service is compared with digital map in 1998 and digital chart in 2006. Comparing DGPS values with shoreline of digital map, we know that erosion has occurred locally around training dike placed in Gangmun harbor and in southern Namhangjin, many accretions has happened near the breakwater of Namhangjin region and partial accretion is occurring in the other area. Therefore DGPS which is an acquisition method suitable for GIS data input is in use to collect the horizontal data and it could be used effectively to measure the shoreline change of time series through the long-term continuous observation by the coastal development.

  • Crustal velocities around the Korea peninsula are estimated and investigated from eight IGS permanent stations in eastern Asia area. GPS data for the period of May 1995 to December 1991 were analyzed to estimate daily coordinates of each site relative to TAEJ site. The velocity vector of each site is estimated from linear regression analysis with time series of coordinates. As the result, horizontal velocity components for four stations(Tsukuba, Usuda,Taiwan and Shanghai) using thirty-two months data were estimated with the standard error less than 1 mm/year. Our GPS velocity of six sites on the interiors of the Eurasia plate are similar within 1 cm/year with small differences respectively. On the other hand, the velocities of Tsukuba and Usuda showed the great differences from the other six sites. This can be explained by the fact that these two sites are enforced by the surrounding four plates, such as the Pacific, Eurasia, North America and Philipine plate. This study showed that the distance between Korea and Japan is shortened with the rate of 3 cm per year.

  • Finite source inversion is performed with a Green's function matrix and geodetic coseismic displacement. Conventionally, the Green's function matrix is constructed using the Okada model (Okada, 1985). However, for more realistic earthquake simulations, recent research has widely adopted the physics-based model, which can consider various material properties such as elasticity, viscoelasticity, and elastoplasticity. We used the physics-based software PyLith, which is suitable for earthquake modeling. However, the PyLith does not provide a mesh generator, which makes it difficult to perform finite source inversions that require numerous subfaults and observation points within the model. Therefore, in this study, we developed CPInterface (COMSOL-PyLith Interface) to improve the convenience of finite source inversion by combining the processes of creating a numerical model including sub-faults and observation points, simulating earthquake modeling, and constructing a Green's function matrix. CPInterface combines the grid generator of COMSOL with PyLith to generate the Green's function matrix automatically. CPInterface controls model and fault information with simple parameters. In addition, elastic subsurface anomalies and GPS observations can be placed flexibly in the model. CPInterface is expected to enhance the accessibility of physics-based finite source inversions by automatically generating the Green's function matrix.

  • Sonar bearing accuracy is the correspondence between the target orientation predicted by sonar and actual target orientation, and is obtained from measurements. However, when measuring sonar bearing accuracy, many errors are included in the results because they are made at sea, where complex and diverse environmental factors are applied. In particular, parallax error caused by the difference between the position of the GPS receiver and the sonar sensor, and the time delay error generated between the speed of underwater sound waves and the speed of electromagnetic waves in the air have a great influence on the accuracy. Correcting these parallax errors and time delay errors without an automated tool is a laborious task. Therefore, in this study, we propose a sonar bearing accuracy measurement equipment with parallax error and time delay error correction. The tests were carried out through simulation data and real data. As a result of the test it was confirmed that the parallax error and time delay error were systematically corrected so that 51.7% for simulation data and more than 18.5% for real data. The proposed method is expected to improve the efficiency and accuracy of sonar system detection performance verification in the future.
