  • Fifteen years have passed since the enactment of the Industrial Technology Innovation Promotion Act, which promoted industry cooperation activities for universities. Therefore, the study analyzes the relationship between the university's industrial cooperation activities and the college graduates' starting salaries and provides policy suggestions on improving the direction of university-industry cooperation. The study used nine-year panel data from Graduates Occupational Mobility Survey (GOMS) to conduct an empirical analysis and found that starting salaries of college graduates were not significantly higher if the university only participated in basic industry cooperation activities. On the other hand, when the quality of university-industry cooperation activities was higher, such as job search support, the starting salary of college graduates was higher. The findings suggest that university-industry cooperation activities must focus on qualitative performances rather than quantitative approaches.

  • In the IoT environment, context information is important to provide context service to the user. For this, collected data from devices such as sensors or actuators, converts to context information using the ontology. Because the existing ontologies designed for target service, if the user wants to change the service requirements, service condition, service environment or another service, overall ontology will be redesigned to the changed service. To overcome this difficulty, we propose the cross-vertical ontology model called the Generic Ontology Models(GOMs). It can define the user's desired services without regarding to place and situation. Also, we propose IoT service concept model that represents data flow of the IoT service and IoT service environment. Moreover, as the use case, we show that the proposed GOMs are able to provide the IoT service well.

  • This paper estimates the employment and wage effects of the duration of leave of absence for job preparation activities and the duration of leave of absence due to economic difficulties by using the first wave of the Graduates Occupational Mobility Survey of 2009 (2009GOMS1). The employment probability and wage increase by 1.6 percentage points and 4.0 percentage, respectively, with a month of the duration of leave for job preparation activities. The employment probability and wage decrease by 3.6 percentage points and 7.2 percentage, respectively, with a month of the duration of leave due to economic difficulties.

  • Current subway station's office employee must perform safety management tasks by monitoring the various safety management systems. But these monitoring systems are limited in effective situational awareness and response to a state of emergency immediately. It is necessary to develop an integrated safety management system display. In this study, we developed subway station safety management system's (CCTV, fire detection & alarm system, screen door control equipment) integrated prototype display with ecological interface design framework and evaluated prototype display interface's usability with GOMS model. The result was that the ecological interface's performance was better than existing safety management system's interface.

  • This paper analyzes the effects of college students' preparing for government official recruitment exams on their employment and job characteristics. To this end, Graduates Occupational Mobility Survey(GOMS) data were used. The main results of this study are summarized as follows. (1) college students preparing for the exams extend their college enrollment period; (2) college students preparing for the exams delay their employment; (3) college students preparing for the exams lower their wages and job satisfactions if they are employed in private sectors. In general, these results are consistent with common concerns. However, the sizes of the effects are less than common concerns.

  • The purpose of this study is to compare assessment techniques for Korean characters entry methods of mobile phones. This study was performed based on survey of relevant existing studies. The assessment techniques were classified into three: 1) predicting entry time using conceptual models such as Fitts' law, Hick-Hyman's law and KLM-GOMS model (conceptual model); 2) counting the number of pressing button(number of pressing button); and 3) measuring performance or rating subjective measures using real mobile phones(real mobile phone). The comparison revealed that the assessment results were different depending upon the techniques used. The results from the conceptual model using only Fitts' law and the number of pressing button were opposite to those from techniques of the real mobile phone and conceptual model using Fitts' and Hick-Hyman's laws. Based on this result and suggestions provided by the literature, it is recommended that for more precisely assessing interfaces of mobile phones such as Korean characters entry method, real mobile phones be used instead of the conceptual models.

  • The issue of this research is to verify the influence of effort that university students putting and employment goal setting regarding employment preparation behavior. And which behavior affects to the employment goal achievement. This research could surely find that it is positive to employment goal setting. But employment goal setting is not enough to get a actual job. So we should manage job counseling program, and methodical subjects which is directly connected to employment. And also we have to enlarge the opportunity to experience actual job to help graduate students to get a job.

  • This study is aim to the effects of job satisfaction on the major satisfaction of science and engineering college students and also analyzed the mediating effects of future outlook of job and major relevance in career choice. To do this, structural equation modeling(SEM) and multi-group SEM were applied to data from 2016 Graduate Occupational Mobility Survey(GOMS). In the results of this study, the major satisfaction, future outlook of job and major relevance were positive effects on job satisfaction and the mediating effects of future outlook of job and major relevance were verified. And results of analysis according to gender difference, the coefficient of woman was smaller than man. Among major satisfaction had a positive effect on job satisfaction, job satisfaction fell for women who value their relevance to the major when choosing a job. Based on such results, universities need to further strengthen their role in helping them enhance their expertise through skills and learning about their majors.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the work value factors regarded as important by the culinary-related graduates in their 20s, and also to analyze the effects of work value factors on the life satisfaction. To achieve this purpose, this study analyzed the data of 155 graduates from departments including 'culinary arts', 'foodservice', and 'confectionery' among the college graduates in their 20s who participated in GOMS 2018. The results of analysis are as follows. First, the new generation majors in culinary arts showed the high importance of their aptitude and interest, employment stability, earned income. Second, in relation to the major field, the male graduates majored in culinary arts more highly perceived the importance than the female graduates majored in culinary arts. On the other hand, regarding the social reputation of job and work duty, the female graduates majored in culinary arts more highly perceived the importance than the male graduates majored in culinary arts. Third, the developmental value factor of work value had positive effects on the life satisfaction. Thus, the career-related staffs or professors of college should provide the career guidance by considering gender when the majors in culinary arts transit to the labor market after graduation.
