Case study has been criticized far its lack of generalization to the larger population and lack of sampling controls. Some of shortcomings of case study methods may be overcome, by using logically consistent, rigorous, and systematic approaches. Especially, Case study method has been suggested as appropriate for researching a range of GIS implementation, utilization, and diffusion issues. This paper provides examples of how the substance of its requirements may be met in the context of GIS case study. For the successful implementation of GIS, this study suggest that the case study method in GIS appropriate to the study of casual relations in and explication of complex GIS acquisition and adoption process.

Recently utilizing GPS (Global Positioning System) technology has become the research in progress to improve the accuracy. However, if you encounter problems when you receive a satellite signal reception accuracy it is also significantly lowered. In this paper, we designed a system that combines the GPS technology and the GIS (Geographic Information System) technology, which provides information about the specified location to increase the accuracy. Compare the specified location and the user's location information to determine whether the user enters for the location. Accordingly, is utilized by the GIS technique considered to make improve the accuracy of the location information even when there is interference in the received satellite signal, the user receives a service specified location.

GIS was introduced to spatial information of complex and various facility systematically and scientifically. And, recently, new trend has been spread by Mobile GIS owing to its fast development of information and communication technology. However, these Mobile GIS techniques were introduced in maintenances of various facilities. Due to its mismanagement, the use became insufficient in facilities causing database creation to require realism and mobility. Therefore, in this research to road facility of various facilities, it deduced improving the work process by using a Mobile GIS to analyze work process of the road facility database creation. And, through an experiment, by comparing and analyzing road facilities database creation process by existing method and improving method, could improvement of road facility database creation using a Mobile GIS.

본 논문에서는 최근 널리 보급되고 있는 스마트폰을 활용하여, 재난발생의 예방 대비 대용 북구 단계에서 국민의 안전 및 공공기관의 효율적 재난업무를 위한 방재정보 서비스를 제안한다. 이에 따라 본 서비스의 수요 대상을 공공기관 및 민간으로 구분하여 총 4가지 범주에 대해 기술의 역할을 설정하였고, 이를 바탕으로 스마트폰을 활용한 방재정보서비스의 35가지 세부기술을 구상하였다.

지구 온난화에 따른 기후변화에 의해 동아시아 지역의 가뭄현상은 지속적으로 증가추세이며 우리나라도 최근 중부지방을 중심으로 봄 가뭄이 심화되고 있다. 특히 2001년 봄 가뭄은 기상관측 이래 최악의 가뭄으로 기록되었으며 이에 대한 피해원인 및 가뭄특성에 대한 다양한 연구가 수행되었다. 본 연구에서는 2001년 봄 가뭄을 원격탐사를 기반으로 한 위성영상 자료를 활용하여 분석하였으며, 다양한 파장대의 위성영상 반사특성을 이용하여 생성한 식생지수 및 지표면 복사온도를 가뭄분석을 위한 도구로 활용하였다. 또한, 가뭄의 지속기간이 짧고, 식생의 활력이 크지 않은 봄 가뭄의 특성을 고려하여 토지피복도, 임상도, DEM 등의 GIS자료를 추가적으로 활용하여 가뭄발생지역의 공간적 특성을 분석하였다.

The uniqueness of Korean funeral culture has produced the problems such as forest indiscreet cemetery development and increase of cemeteries for those without surveying family due to negligent management. To solve these problems, government and social organization have recommended a use of cremation, charnel house and cemetery. The objective of this study is to develop a cemetery information management system which cemetery managers who are GIS laypersons are able to understand GIS functions easily and use conveniently. Cemetery tasks should be done not only in the office but also at the field. In the office, they perform GIS functions like input, modification and so forth using a desktop. And at the field, they perform the functions like simple input, inquiry using a PDA(Touchscreen) that can receive GPS signal. As various open source softwares were used to build the system, the expense was reduced largely, and we could expect the possibility that it can be utilized in more cemeteries by adding more various functions.

최근 정보기술의 동향을 살펴보면 공통적인 키워드를 발견할 수 있는데, 그것은 바로 모바일(Mobile)이다. 이에 GIS 분야에서도 무선환경에서의 GIS 활용을 위한 기술이 확산되고 있으며, 대표적인 기술로 LBS(Location Based Service)와 모바일 GIS(Mobile GIS)가 있다. 이러한 배경하에 선진국가에서는 고도화된 전자정부 구현을 위해 무선 GIS 기술적용이 추진되고 있으며, 국내에서도 모바일 전자정부 추진계획이 수립되었다. 이에 본 논문에서는 공공분야에서 효율적인 무선 GIS 기술도입을 위해 공공분야의 무선 GIS라는 개념을 제시하고, 무선 GIS 서비스 구현의 기반이 되는 서비스 유형을 제시하였다. 공공분야의 무선 GIS 서비스 유형은 LBS와 모바일 GIS를 기반으로 적용 가능한 업무유형과 무선 GIS 특성에 따른 서비스 구조로 구분하여 고찰하였으며, 두 내용을 종합하여 공공분야의 무선 GIS 서비스유형을 제시하였다. 제시된 무선 GTS 서비스 유형은 향후 모바일 전자정부 및 공공분야에서의 모바일 관련 GIS 서비스 구현시 참조할 수 있을 것이라 예상된다.

Since GIS strategic implementation plan was prepared in 1995, Seoul Metropolitan Government (SMG) has implemented the distributed GIS at department level, which prevents various SMG organizations from data-sharing and its common utilization. To solve those problems due to the fragmented GIS structure, SMG developed an action plan for the evolution of enterprise GIS with Spatial Data Warehouse (SDW). In this context, this paper initially analyzed the conceptual architecture of SDW structure and then provided the following guidelines for 1) determining the common GIS data and framework data stored at SDW to satisfy the demand for various GIS data from many SMG departments and sub-organizations, 2) developing the data synchronization process and techniques to make effective data-sharing possible, and 3) making an action plan for enterprise GIS of other self-governmental organizations.

The u-City offers diverse u-services, which are integrated with information and GIS technologies, by utilizing an integrated management platform for controlling the city efficiently, increasing convenience of city lift, and improving the quality of lives. An urban control system is a core element of the u-City to connect organically and expand all kinds of information through various u-interfaces. This study presents the implementation of a GIS service module based on the urban control system for the efficient development of u-services, which contributed to the successful execution of GIS service scenarios that include processes of unexpected events, air pollution monitoring, and emergences. The results of the study can be used as basic data for the design and operation of practical u-City services.
