Blood pressure simulator using hybrid controller (합성제어기를 이용한 혈압 시뮬레이터의 구현)

  • A hybridized simulator for generating blood pressure waveform is proposed to study the remedy and/or evaluation of the conventional sphygmomanometer utilizing the oscillometric method which is widely applied. The blood pressure of a flowing fluid was controlled for the blood vessel's condition caused by a rhythmical and periodical contraction/relaxation because of the special excitatory and conductive system of the heart. In this study, a hybridized controller composed of the PI feedback controller and the feedforward controller. The inverse dynamics function is proposed to operating the control valve while the pressure is applied in an oil pressure tank. The proposed hybrid simulator reproducing the blood pressure waveform in an artificial blood vessel has kept the control performance consistent over all range. Based on these results, the proposed simulators could be applied to the development and compensation of the non invasive sphygmomanometer type as well as to study the characteristics of the blood pressure and blood vessel.

  • 본 논문은 KTX36호(300km/h) 운행시 수집된 검측데이터를 효과적으로 분석하여 유지보수에 활용하기 위한 단락전류의 반파장주기(${\lambda}$/2)에 관한 연구수행 결과를 나타낸다. KTX36호는 현재 하나의 객실을 검측차로 개조하여 운행속도에서 각종 검측을 수행하고 있다. 우리나라의 고속선 궤도회로는 프랑스의 궤도회로와 달리 토공, 교량, 터널 구간으로 나뉘어 있으며, 상용전원 주파수도 프랑스는 50Hz, 우리나라는 60Hz를 사용하고 있어 정보전송을 위해 사용하는 반송주파수도 다르다. 또한 특성임피던스 와 감쇠정수/위상정수를 결정짓는 중요한 변수인 선로정수(R,L,G,C)가 다르기 때문에 KTX36호의 단락전류에 대한 반파장주기(${\lambda}$/2)는 검측데이터를 활용한 유지보수에 있어 매우 중요한 역할을 한다. 본 논문에서는 프랑스에서 사용하는 단락전류의 반파장주기 (${\lambda}$/2)에 대해 언급하고 연구결과 산출된 국내 단락전류의 반파장주기(${\lambda}$/2)를 비교하였다.

A Study of the Urban Tree Canopy Mean Radiant Temperature Mitigation Estimation (도시림의 여름철 평균복사온도 저감 추정 연구)

  • This study aimed to estimate and evaluate the thermal mitigation of the urban tree canopy on the summer outdoor environment by quantitative use of mean radiant temperature. This study applied the SOLWEIG model based $T_{mrt}$ comparison method by using both (1) urban tree canopy presence examples and (2) urban tree canopy absence examples as constructed from airborne LiDAR system based three-dimensional point cloud data. As a result, it was found that an urban tree canopy can provide a decrease in the entire domain averaged daily mean $T_{mrt}$ about $5^{\circ}C$ and that the difference can increase up to $33^{\circ}C$ depending both on sun position and site conditions. These results will enhance urban microclimate studies such as indices (e.g., wind speed, humidity, air temperature) and biometeorology (e.g., perceived temperature) and will be used to support forest based public green policy development.

Geochemistry and Stable Isotopes of Carbonated Waters in South Korea (남한 탄산수의 지구화학적 특성과 안정동위원소 조성)

  • Geochemical and isotopic analyses were carried out to investigate hydrochemical characteristics, source of carbon species in the carbonated waters in South Korea. Most Korean carbonated waters from different geologic settings are characterized by a Ca-HCO$_3$type with a relatively low pH range from 5.3 to 6.3 (avg. 6.0). The concentrations of cations and anions in the carbonate waters are in the order of Ca$^{2+}$>Na$^{+}$>Mg$^{2+}$>Si$^{4+}$>Fe$^{2+}$>K$^{+}$ and HCO$_3$$^{-}$>SO$_4$$^{2-}$>Cl$^{-}$, respectively. The HCO$_3$$^{-}$ ion is more enriched in the carbonated water from the sedimentary rock and granitic rock of Mesozoic age in the Gyungsang basin(GII) and the Precambrian metamorphic rock and Jurassic granitic rocks of the Gyunggj massif in the Gangwon province(GⅠ) than those of the meta-sedimentary rock and granite in the Ogcheon zone(GⅢ). Based on the oxygen and hydrogen isotopic data, the carbonated waters are derived from the meteoric water, showing apparent latitude and altitude effects. The $delta$$^{13}$C values of carbon species in the carbonated water are in between -6.23 and 0.0 $textperthousand$, suggesting inorganic source of carbon originated from the carbonate mineral and carbonate rock in the aquifer.

Effect of Cold Brine Immersion Time on Sliced Raw Fish Texture (생선회의 육질향상에 미치는 저온 브라인 침지시간의 영향)

  • The purpose of the present study was to investigate physicochemical changes in olive flounder and korean rockfish muscle subjected to the cold brine, and to find the optimal immersion condition. Effects of various immersion conditions in a sliced raw fish quality were investigated in the rigor index, breaking strength, ATP related compounds, and lactate accumulation in the muscle. The onset of rigor-mortis was accelerated by the increase of immersion time. Also, the time reaching full rigor was shortened remarkably too. However, the rigor index of samples immersed in the cold brine decreased more than that of samples killed instantly. Rigor index was the highest in samples killed instantly, followed by 2.5 min, 5min, 7.5 min, 10 min and 15 min in order. Breaking strength of all samples immersed in the cold brine decreased significantly after reaching the maximum values. The content of ATP related compounds in olive flounder, korean rockfish were $12.0{\mu}mole/g$ and $8.3{\mu}mole/g$, respectively. However, ATP decreased in the samples immersed in the cold brine. The content of ATP was lower, at the optimal condition and then it was increased. Also, lactates increased, at the optimal condition and then it decreased, in contrast with the ATP. The results suggested that the optimal immersion condition of olive flounder and korean rockfish was at -${12.5}^{\circ}C$ for 5min.

Effects of total pressure and gravity level on the physical vapor transport of $Hg_2Cl_2-Cl_2$ system

  • Our computational studies for the physical vapor transport crystal growth of $Hg_2Cl_2-Cl_2$ system evidence suggests that the PVT growth process exhibits the diffusion-dominated behaviors for aspect ratios more than and equal to 10, which would provide purely diffusive transport conditions adequate to microgravity environments less than $10^{-3}g_0$. Also, the regimes of high temperature difference based on the fixed source temperature of $380^{\circ}C$, where ${\Delta}T$ is relatively large enough for the crystal growth of mercurous chloride, the transport rates do not keep increasing with ${\Delta}T$ but tend to some constant value of $2.12\;mole\;cm^{-2}s^{-1}$. For the aspect ratios of 5, 10, and 20, the transport rate is directly proportional to the total pressure of the system under consideration. For Ar = 5, the rate is increased by a factor of 2.3 with increasing the total pressure from 403 Torr to 935 Torr, i.e., by a factor of 2.3. For both Ar = 10 and 20, the rate is increased by a factor of 1.25 with increasing the total pressure from 403 Torr to 935 Torr.

Synergistic Effects of Bacteriocin-Producing Pediococcus acidilactici K10 and Organic Acids on Inhibiting Escherichia coli O157:H7 and Applications in Ground Beef

  • When used in combination with organic acids, Pediococcus acidilactici K10 or its bacteriocin was effective in inhibiting Escherichia coli O157:H7 in vitro and in situ. P. acidilactici K10, a strain of bacteriocin-producing lactic acid bacteria (LAB), was previously isolated from kimchi in our laboratory, and the molecular weight of its bacteriocin was estimated to be around 4,500 Da by SDS-PAGE. Initially, P. acidilactici K10 and its bacteriocin could not inhibit E. coli O157:H7, when used alone. However, when they were used together with organic acids such as acetic, lactic, and succinic acids, they greatly inhibited E. coli O157:H7 in vitro. Based on these in vitro results, a real sample test with ground beef was conducted at $4^{\circ}C$ with acetic acid (0.25%) or lactic acid (0.35%) alone, and then in combination with P. acidilactici K10 (10^5 CFU/g of sample). Combined treatment of P. acidilactici K10 with lactic acid showed the most inhibitory effect: a 2.8-$log_{10}$-unit reduction of E. coli O157:H7 in ground beef during storage at $4^{\circ}C$. This result suggests that the combination of bacteriocin-producing P. acidilactici K10 and organic acids has great potential as a food biopreservative by inhibiting the growth of E. coli O157:H7.

  • In order to analyze the cellular proteins which interact with core protein of hepatitis C virus (HCV), a yeast two-hybrid screening technique was employed. A carboxyl terminus truncated core protein, which contained amino acid residues from the 1st to 120th, was used as a bait to screen cellular proteins. The expression library prepared from HeLa cell was screened and 400 positive clones were selected. The 75 clones from the positive clones were sequenced and analyzed by undergoing the Blast search. Interestingly, 7 out of the 75 clones encoded E7 antigen of human papilloma virus (HPV). We studied in detail the Interaction between the truncated version of HCV core and E7 antigen in vitro. The core$_{120}$ protein expressed in chimeric form with G57 was able to bring down the E7 protein of HPV type 18 expressed in bacteria. It is therefore suggested that the core of HCV might affect the interaction between E7 and a normal cellular tumor suppressor, known as Rb protein.

  • The composite fiber adsorbents containing amidoxime group were prepared and separation properties of uranium ion from seawater were investigated. The amount of uranium adsorption was increased with an increase in adsorption time. When the mole ratio of monomer and comonomer, such as acrylonitrile (AN), tetraethyleneglycol dimethacrylate(TEGMA), and divinylbenzene (DVB), were 1 :0. 1 :0.003, this resin showed the maximum adsorption ability for uranium at a level of pH 8. The amount of uranium adsorption was also increased linearly to one hour with an increase in the content of adsorbent which was added in the composite fiber adsorbents(CFA). The maximum adsorption for uranium of CF A showed at $25^{\circ}C$. Hence, the adsorption ability of CF A for calcium and magnecium ions were increased gradually by the recycling of adsorption and disorption, the adsorption content of their on were 0.3, 0.9mmole/g-adsorbents, respectly. It also showed that the adsorption contents of Ca and \1g ions were much lower than them of uranium. The desorption of uranium on the CF A was carried out , bout 100% within 30min, and the desorption rate of various CF A were equalled.

SO2 Reduction with CO over SnO2-ZrO2(Sn/Zr=2/1) Catalyst for Direct Sulfur Recovery Process with Coal Gas: Optimization of the Reaction Conditions and Effect of H2O Content (석탄가스를 이용한 직접 황 회수공정을 위한 SnO2-ZrO2(Sn/Zr=2/1) 촉매 상에서의 CO에 의한 SO2 환원 반응: 반응조건 최적화 및 수분의 영향)

  • In this study, the reactivity of a $SnO_2-ZrO_2$(Sn/Zr = 2/1) catalyst for $SO_2$ reduction by CO was investigated in order to optimize the various reaction conditions such as temperature, gas hourly space velocity (GHSV), and [CO]/[$SO_2$] molar ratio. The reaction temperature in the range of $300{\sim}550^{\circ}C$, space velocity in the range of $5000{\sim}30000cm^3/[g_{-cat}{\cdot}h]$ and [CO]/[$SO_2$] molar ratio in the range of 1.0~4.0 were employed. The optimum temperature, GHSV, and [CO]/[$SO_2$] molar ratio were determined to be $325^{\circ}C$, $10000cm^3/[g_{-cat}{\cdot}h]$, and 2.0, respectively; under these conditions, $SO_2$ conversion was over 99% and sulfur selectivity was over 95%. In addition, the effect of $H_2O$ content on the $SO_2$ reduction by CO was also investigated. As the $H_2O$ content increased from 2 vol% up to 6 vol%, the reactivity and sulfur selectivity decreased. In case of 2 vol% $H_2O$ content, the reaction temperature and [CO]/[$SO_2$] molar ratio were varied in the range of $300{\sim}400^{\circ}C$ and 1.0~3.0. The optimum temperature and [CO]/[$SO_2$] molar ratio were $340^{\circ}C$ and 2.0, respectively under which $SO_2$ conversion and sulfur selectivity were about 90% and 87%, respectively.
