  • In order to find out better cultivation practices for environmentally-friendly agriculture, an experiment with four fertilizer levels and one cultivar, 'Boseokchal', and three lines, GG-05-03, GG-05-04, and GG-05-07 was carried out. Those lines had been selected from native green waxy rice over a period of five years (2004~2008). The tillering numbers of both the GG-05-03 and GG-05-04 lines were similar, but GG-05-07 was less than those. Regarding plant height, both GG-05-04 and GG-05-07 were higher than 'Boseokchal', while GG-05-03 was similar to it. There was no marked difference of quantitative character amond the three lines regarding grain weight and grain number of ear. 1000-grain weights of all three lines were slightly light compared to 'Boseokchal' cultivar. Head rice yields of both the GG-05-03 and GG-05-07 lines were less than 'Boseokchal', but the GG-05-04 line was similar to it. Only total lipids of all compositions of brown rice showed a slightly different rate compared to 'Boseokchal'. These results summarize that the GG-05-07 line was shown to be better than both the GG-05-03 and GG-05-04 lines for environmentally-friendly agriculture practices.

  • Seed dehiscence of ginseng (Panax ginseng C. A. Mayer) is affected by moisture, temperature, storage conditions and microbes. Several microbes were isolated from completely dehisced seed coat of ginseng cultivars, Chunpoong and Younpoong at Gumsan, Korea. We investigated the potential of five Talaromyces flavus isolates from the dehiscence of ginseng seed in four traditional stratification facilities. The isolates showed antagonistic activities against fungal plant pathogens, such as Cylindrocarpon destructans, Fusarium oxysporum, Rhizoctonia solani, Sclerotinia nivalis, Botrytis cinerea, and Phytophthora capsici. The dehiscence ratios of ginseng seed increased more than 33% by treatment of T. flavus GG01, GG02, GG04, GG12, and GG23 in comparison to control (28%). Among the treatments, the reformulating treatment of T. flavus isolates GG01 and GG04 showed the highest of stratification ratio of ginseng seed. After 16 weeks, the reformulating treatment of T. flavus isolates GG01 and GG04 significantly enhanced dehiscence of ginseng seed by about 81% compared to the untreated control. The candidate's treatment of T. flavus GG01 and GG04 showed the highest decreasing rate of 93% in seed coat hardness for 112 days in dehiscence period. The results suggested that the pre-inoculation of T. flavus GG01 and GG04 found to be very effective applications in improving dehiscence and germination of ginseng seed.

  • $\ll$Yongchu(靈樞)$\gg$ is completed as a result of gathering several treatises about oriental medicine in B.C. 3c ~ A.D. 1c, and esteemed as a bible of oriental medicine, especially very much quoted in acupuncture fields. But the name of $\ll$Yongchu(靈樞)$\gg$ wasn't in existence at that time. Until A.D. 3c, it had been named after $\ll$Guguen(九券)$\gg$, given it's number of volumes, and since then mainly named after $\ll$Chimgueng(針經)$\gg$, given a word of the first volume. After A.D. 6c, under the influence of Taoism(道家), it was titled $\ll$Yongchu(靈樞)$\gg$, $\ll$Guhe(九墟)$\gg$, $\ll$Gureong(九靈)$\gg$ etc. Yongchu(靈樞), guhe(九墟), gureong(九靈) are words which is connected with Taoism(道家). In 1155, Sung Sa(史崧) published $\ll$Yongchu(靈樞)$\gg$, whim became a textbook of oriental medicine, so other titles disappeared since then. $\ll$Yongchu(靈樞)$\gg$, $\ll$Guhe(九墟)$\gg$, $\ll$Gureong(九靈)$\gg$, $\ll$Guguen(九卷)$\gg$, $\ll$Chimgueng(針經)$\gg$ are not the same book, but the contents are almost similar, and some letters are different. Especially the textbook, pubished by Sasung(史崧), had been related to the $\ll$Chimgyeng(針經)$\gg$, delivered to North-Song(北宋) dynasty by Jong-Gag Haung(黃宗慤), an envoy of an ancient Korean state(918-1392). So I expect to progress the study of medical exchange about it in the future.

  • In this paper, we characterize the chaotic operator order $A\;{\gg}\;C\;{\gg}\;B$. Consequently all other possible characterizations follow easily. Some satellite theorems of the Furuta inequality are naturally given. And finally, using results of characterizing $A\;{\gg}\;C\;{\gg}\;B$, and by the Douglas's majorization and factorization theorem we are able to characterize the chaotic operator order $A\;{\gg}\;B$ in terms of operator equalities.

  • Jang Sang-Hoon(장상훈) concluded that Dongyeo(東輿) seemed to be made between 1859 and 1866 but it was ahead of Cheonggudo(靑邱圖) in terms of the content and format. Accordingly he insisted that Cheonggudo was compiled based on the original version of Dongyeo which was supposed to be drawn between 1790 and 1834. This paper reappraised critically the previous researches and got several findings. Firstly, the changes of place names-4 places names were selected for the Jang Sang-Hoon's research and 2 were added in this paper-are reflected in the Yeodobiji(輿圖備志) and Dongyeo compiled by Choi Seonghwan(최성환) and Kim Jeongho(金正浩) between 1853 and 1856. Secondly, the sectioning format of Dongye shows some transitional character from the book style such as Cheonggudo to the folding style that was shown in Dongyeodo(東輿圖) and Daedongyeojido(大東輿地圖). Thirdly, the expression of the mountains in Dongyeo shares the same style which is shown in Dongyeodo and Daedongyejido. Fourth, Dongyeo contains the same information about old military bases and the castle locations in small local town centers that appear in Dongyeodo and Daedongyeojido but not in Cheonggudo and similar kinds of maps. In conclusion, Dongyeo and the original version of it are likely to be drawn by Kim Jeongho between 1853 and 1856 after Cheonggudo was made.

  • This study has the purpose of reviewing the period when four types of alternative versions of ${\ll}$Cheonggudo(靑邱圖)${\gg}$ were produced. The study results can be summarized as follows: First, "Cheonggudobeomrye(靑邱圖凡例)" was drawn up after 1834 when the "Cheonggudoje(靑邱圖題)" was drawn up. Second, it was highly possible that was drawn beginning from 1846 when Chongyungcheong(摠戎廳) was changed into Chongwiyeong(總衛營) to 1849 when Chongwiyeong was changed into Cheongyungcheong again. Third, it was highly possible that "Cheonggudobeomre" in which it was recorded that was inserted was also drawn up after 1864. Fourth, the order of drawing up the records were as follows: ${\ll}$Cheonggudo${\gg}$ without "Cheonggudobeomrye" and ${\rightarrow}$ ${\ll}$Cheonggudo${\gg}$ that has the but without "Cheonggudobeomrye" ${\rightarrow}$ ${\ll}$Cheonggudo${\gg}$ that has "Cheonggudobeomrye" and which was represented by a shape like a peak ${\rightarrow}$ ${\ll}$Cheonggudo${\gg}$ that has "Cheonggudobeomrye" and was represented by a shape of mountain range.
