Hydraulic hose assemblies are used as piping components for construction machinery, automobile, aircraft, industrial machinery, machine tools, and machinery for ships. Then the reliability of hose assemblies is important because total hydraulic system, which used to deliver the fluid power ($P^*Q$) needed to flexibility in the piping system, is not operated if the hose assembly failed in the system. The data of the accelerated life test estimated through the shape parameter(${\beta}$) resulting of the Weibull distribution analysis. This study has tried to reduce the test time resulting from varying impulse pressure range and the flexing diameter. Accelerated life test model for the test results was adopted the GLL(generalized log linear) and the accelerated indexes are identified as 6.64 for the pressure and 4.46 for flexing radius. Also, it found that shape parameter is 6.19, scale parameter(${\eta}$) is $1.035{\times}108$, which were adopted the pressure 35 MPa and the flexing diameter R100 mm in the used condition.

Increasing concern about biodiversity has lead to a rise in demand on the spatial assessment of biological resources such as biodiversity assessment, protected area selection, habitat management and restoration in Korea. The purpose of this study is to create species richness map through data collection and modeling techniques for wildlife habitat assessment. The GAM (Generalized Additive Model) is easy to interpret and shows better relationship between environmental variables and a response variable than an existing overlap analysis and GLM (Generalized Linear Model). The study area delineated by a large watershed contains Jirisan national park, Mt. Baekun and Sumjin river with three kinds of protected areas (a national park, a landscape ecology protected area and an otter protected area). We collected the presence-absence data for wildlife (mammals and birds) using a stratified random sampling based on a land cover in the study area and implemented natural and socio-environmental data affecting wildlife habitats. After doing a habitat use analysis and specifying significant factors for each species, we built habitat suitability models using a presence-absence model and created habitat suitability maps for each species. Biodiversity maps were generated by taxa and all species using habitat suitability maps. Significant factors affecting each species habitat were different according to their habitat selection. Although some species like a water deer or a great tit were distributed at the low elevation, most potential habitats for mammals and birds were found at the edge of a national park boundary or near a forest around the medium elevation of a mountain range. This study will be used for a basis on biodiversity assessment and proected area selection carried out by Ministry of Environment.

This paper presents an application of LMI-based techniques to the mixed $H_2/ H_\infty$ control of an inverted pendulum. The linear model of the inverted pendulum represented by an LFR(Linear Fractional Representation) model of uncertainties is derived. Considered uncertainties are three nonlinear components and a parameter uncertainty Augmenting the LFR model by adding weighting functions, we get a generalized plant, for which we design a mixed $H_2/ H_\infty$ controller using the LMI technique. To evaluate control performances and robust stability of the mixed $H_2/ H_\infty$ controller designed, we compare it with the $ H_\infty$controller through the simulation and experiment. The mixed $H_2/ H_\infty$ controller shows the better control performances and robust stability than the $H_\infty$controller in the sense of pendulum angle.

This study investigates the capital structure policy among Indonesian public companies. Previous studies suggest that capital structure policy could follow either static or dynamic behavior. The sample data used in this study was companies in the manufacturing sector, divided into three sub-sectors: the basic and chemical industry, miscellaneous industry, and the consumer goods industry. This study uses panel data from 2010 to 2018, with the Generalized Least Square (GLS) method and compared whether the fixed effect model is better than the common effect model. The results show that the dynamic and non-linear model tests can explain the capital structure determinants than the static and linear models. The dynamic model shows that the capital structure of a certain year is influenced by the capital structure of the previous year. The findings indicate that the company performs some adjustments in its capital structure policy by referring to the previous debt ratio, which implies support to the trade-off theory (TOT). The study also shows that profitability, tangible assets, size, and age explain the variation of capital structure policy. The patterns on the dynamic and non-linear confirm that capital structure runs in a nonlinear pattern, based on the sector, company condition, and the dynamic environment.

Effective thermal conductivity of nanofluids has been predicted by using generalized self-consistent model and modified Eshelby model, which have been used for analysis of material properties of composites. A nanolayer between base fluid and nanoparticle, one of key factors for abrupt enhancement of thermal conductivity of nanofluids, is included in the analysis. The effective thermal conductivities of the nanofluid predicted by the present study show good agreement with those by models in the literature for the nanolayer with a constant or linear thermal conductivity. The predicted results by the present approach have been confirmed to be consistent with experiments for representative nanofluids such as base fluids of water or ethyleneglycol and nanoparticles of $Al_2O_3$ or CuO to be validated.

The quasi-likelihood models which greatly widened the scope of generalized linear models are widely used in data analysis where a likelihood is not available. Since a quasi-likelihood may not appear to be an ordinary likelihood for any known distribution in the natural exponential family, to fit the quasi-likelihood models the standard statistical packages such as GLIM, GENSTAT, S-PLUS and so on may not directly applied. SAS/IML is very useful for fitting of such models. In this paper, we present simple SAS/IML(version 6.11) program which helps to fit and analyze the quasi-likelihood models applied to the leaf-blotch data introduced by Wedderburn(1974), and the problem with deviance useful generally to model checking is pointed out, and then its solution method is mention through the data analysis based on this quasi-likelihood models checking.
In the class of models which include random effects, the variance component estimates are important to obtain accurate predictors and estimators. Variance component estimation is straightforward for balanced data but not for unbalanced data. Since orthogonality among factors is absent in unbalanced data, various methods for variance component estimation are available. REML estimation is the most widely used method in animal breeding because of its attractive statistical properties. Recently, Bayesian approach became feasible through Markov Chain Monte Carlo methods with increasingly powerful computers. Furthermore, advances in variance component estimation with complicated models such as generalized linear mixed models enabled animal breeders to analyze non-normal data.

In a meta-analysis combining the results from different clinical trials, it is important to consider the possible heterogeneity in outcomes between trials. Such variations can be regarded as random effects. Thus, random-effect models such as HGLMs (hierarchical generalized linear models) are very useful. In this paper, we propose a HGLM framework for analyzing the binominal response data which may have variations in the odds-ratios between clinical trials. We also present the prediction intervals for random effects which are in practice useful to investigate the heterogeneity of the trial effects. The proposed method is illustrated with a real-data set on 22 trials about respiratory tract infections. We further demonstrate that an appropriate HGLM can be confirmed via model-selection criteria.

In this paper we consider the part-machine cell formation decision of the generalized Group Technology(GT) problem in which multiple process routes can be generated for each part. The existing p-median model and similarity coefficient algorithm can solve only small-sized or well-structured cases. We suggest an assignment method for the cell formation problem. This method uses an assignment model which is a simple linear programming. Numerical examples show that our assignment method provides good separable cells formation even for large-sized and ill-structured problems.

In the fast sampling limit the delta operator model tends to the analog system model. This fundamental property of the delta operator model unifies continuous and discrete time control system. In this paper we study robust linear optimal model following servo system in the presence of disturbances and parameter perturbations. A technique to directly design the generalized differential operator based unified control system that covers both differential operator based continuous time and delta operator based discrete time case is presented. The quadratic criterion function for a linear system is used to design the robust unified servo control system The characteristics of the proposed servo system are analysed and simulated to verify the robustness.
