  • 선박화재의 최근의 예는 1990년 4월 $\ulcorner$스칸다나비아.스타호$\lrcorner$ 158명 사망사고와, 1991년 4월의 $\ulcorner$모베이.프린스호$\lrcorner$ 이탈리아 선박)140명 사망 사고이다. IMO (International Maritime Organization, 국제 해사협회)에서는 이 대책을 위해 법개정을 했지만, 이것은 한마디로 말하면 $\ulcorner$불에 타기 쉬운 재료$\lrcorner$에서 $\ulcorner$불에 잘 타지 않는 재료$\lrcorner$, 예를 들면 $\ulcorner$페놀 컴포지트$\lrcorner$ (이하 PC라고 생략한다.)으로의 개선이었다. 본 보고서는 이 PC를 $\ulcorner$선박.주정$\lrcorner$용 재료로써 설계 심사하도록 규정으로 정리했던 논문을 조사해서 보고한다.

  • Researchers at Truman State University in Missouri, located in the heartland of the United States, have been using materials adapted from the English translations of the sixth national primary mathematics curriculum from Korea for professional development and assessment with groups of Missouri teachers for the purpose of enhancing teachers' understanding of the fundamentals of mathematics since 2002 [gecKo Mathematics (2008). A professional development initiative for 50 teachers conducted in Missouri this past year is reported here. Significant gains in teacher understanding of fundamental mathematics concepts and pedagogy necessary for student achievement in primary mathematics were found as a result of the initiative.

고속 전철용 소결 마찰재료 개발 (Development of Sintered Friction Material for High Speed Train)

  • The Friction Brake Pad of High Speed Train is the most important parts in brake system, which is usually made of Cu-based Sintered friction material. This study has been carried out about the formulation effects of sintered friction material and made lots of sample brake pads. Then, we have done the performance test of the developed product by using full scale inertia Dynamo-meter. This performance test (braking speed 300km/h) was conducted as GEC Alsthom Standard test procedure and High Speed Brake Test (braking speed 350km/h) was done at "Poli" in Italy. The friction properties of this product was almost identical with the brake pad which is currently used to TGV. And the temperature of brake disk on braking speed 350Km/h was a little higher.

정적균형훈련이 운동수행력 및 상해발생에 미치는 영향(탄성을 이용한) (The Effects of the Balance Training Program on the Excercise Performance and Injuries)

  • This study approaches the effects of Balance Training on excercise performance and the prevention from the injuries caused by excercise. The subjects of the Balance Training program are female exercise beginners and the research period covers 8 weeks from January 10 to March 7, 2003. The research objects are 19 female golf beginners in 30s to 40s, who live in Seoul or Seongnam in Gyeonggi province and have played golf less than 6 months. The programs of the Balance Training and exercise performance were conducted to an 11 experimental group among the 19 research objects at the same time, and only the exercise performance program was applied to an 8 control group for 8 weeks. Before and after 8 weeks' application of the research programs to each group, the research subjects were examined, especially the components of their bodies, the balance and the performance capability were measured both before and after the test. The frequency of injuries by exercise was measured after the test, and the difference of the frequency was compared with the frequency before exercise. First, the experimental group, in a measurement of balance, showed that SN, MB, SAr and SAg of static balance decreased in a situation of MEO, MEC, GEO, GEC, TBEO, TBO, FHEO, FEO(p <0.05), but the control group increased. Second, the analysis on the change of exercise performance indicated better improvement in distance, ball speed, and accuracy of the experimental group than the control group(p<0.05). Third, the experience of injuries showed that there were 2 injuries in the experimental group and 11 injuries in the control group. The injured parts were 2 cases in the hands and fingers of the experimental group, and 1 case in the shoulder, 4 in the elbows, 4 in the hands and fingers and 2 in the lumber of the control group. From the above-mentioned results, it is recognized that the Balance Training program improved the exercise performance of female golf beginners and had good effects on the prevention from injuries. Accordingly, if this program is applied to sports-beginners, it will contribute to the improvement of the public health.

비탈면 복구사례 분석을 통한 쏘일네일링 공법의 국내외 설계기준 평가 (Evaluation of Domestic and Foreign Design Standards for Soil Nailing Method by Analysis of Slope Restoration Case)

  • 쏘일네일링 설계기법은 한계상태설계와 허용응력설계에 기반한 두가지 형태가 있다. 한계상태설계법은 지반강도와 작용하중 등에 개별적인 계수를 적용하여 안정성을 판단하며, 허용응력설계법은 안전율을 산출하고 이값을 허용최소안전율과 비교하여 안정성을 판단하는 설계법이다. 쏘일네일링 벽체 설계의 세계적인 추세는 허용응력설계법에서 한계상태설계법으로 변화하고 있다. 대부분의 국가에서 한계상태설계법을 적용하고 있으나 한국 및 일본에서는 아직까지 허용응력설계법을 사용하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 비탈면의 붕괴가 발생하여 보강이 이루어진 실제 쏘일네일 보강 비탈면에 대해, 미국의 FHWA GEC 7(2015), 프랑스의 Clouterre(1991), 영국의 CIRIA(2005), 홍콩의 Geoguide 7(2008) 및 한국의 건설공사비탈면설계기준(KDS 11 70 15, 2016)을 적용하여 안정성을 평가하고 그 결과를 상호 비교 분석하였다. 분석 결과, 국내의 건설공사비탈면설계기준에서 제시한 전체 안정성 검토 방법이 가장 보수적이며, FHWA, Clouterre, Geoguide 7 및 CIRIA의 순서로 보수적인 것으로 밝혀졌다. 그러나 그 결과에 있어서 FHWA과 Clouterre의 차이는 미미한 것으로 분석되었다. 또한, 본 연구를 통해 인발저항력의 극한값 적용, 부분 계수값의 도입 또는 피해규모를 고려한 최소안전율 차등적용 등 설계기준 개선을 위한 노력이 필요함을 파악하였다.

Moderating Effect of Color on Store Atmospherics Predictors

  • Purpose - Pleasing ambient colors, music, scent, layout and salespeople are hypothesized to positively impact shoppers' perceptions about the atmosphere of a store. Few studies on the interactive effect of these atmospheric factors have earlier been undertaken. This paper looks at the interactive effect of color on the other predictor variables. Research design, data, and methodology - This study is from field locations in the shopping malls located in Delhi NCR. A descriptive study was undertaken to decipher the interactive effect of color with music, scent, layout and salespeople. Moderation of color on music, scent, layout and salespeople is regressed on store atmospherics. The authors investigate the effects of color, light, music, scent, layout and salespeople on store atmospherics in a retail context. They also study the interactive effect of color with predictor variables which significantly influence the perception of store atmospherics. Results - The paper reveals that music, scent, layout and salespeople influence customer's perception about store atmospherics. The interactive effect of color with scent, layout and sales people influence customer's perception about store atmospherics significantly. It does not moderate with layout and music. Conclusions - Store color is important in predicting store atmospherics. Care is needed to ensure that the effects of different environmental stimuli match.

고속열차(KTX)의 TORNAD 네트워크시스템 데이터 분석방법 연구 (Research on data analysis method of KTX TORNAD network system)

  • KTX train system is composed of TORNAD* network for transmitting information of train's internal equipments and OBCS which proceed information within train. OBCS of one trainset consisted of 28 equipments takes intelligent and dynamic composition according to equipment handling, train command and control flow. Each OBCS which is installed within trainset handle and supervise mutually action information about equipments, transmit it to driver to transmit information about train operation and preventive management. This mutual supervision and information transmission use KTX TORNAD* network system. TORNAD* network system is the one which is uniquely developped by GEC ALSTHOM, the KTX trainset manafacturing provider and this field is excluded from technical know-how transfer item. Through the research on analysis method of KTX TORNAD* system data structure which is operating on Seoul-Pusan Line, I hope that this thesis can contribute to train network system's standardization after applying it to improvement of train network system maintenance, enhancing quality of train service and applying it to future Korean rolling stock network system development.

Vaginal Dose, Toxicity and Sexual Outcomes in Patients of Cervical Cancer Undergoing Image Based Brachytherapy

  • Background: The aim of the study was to evaluate the vaginal dose and toxicity in patients of cervical cancer treated with image guided brachytherapy at our institute. Materials and Methods: Thirty-five patients treated with image based brachytherapy for cervical cancer were included. Vaginal contouring was done on MRI at brachytherapy and with CT scans of subsequent brachytherapy fractions. Dose volume parameters (DVH) were reported in accordance with the GEC-ESTRO guidelines. These were correlated with vaginal toxicity (assessed by CTCAE version 3) and quality of sexual life assessed at one year of completion of treatment. Results: Vaginal shortness was observed in 22 out of 30 (62.8%) patients, Nine (25.7%) had vaginal dryness and in 10 (28.5%) patients, there was contact bleeding. No association could be demonstrated between the dose volume parameters and vaginal toxicity in the present study. Conclusions: The lack of association between dose volume parameters of vagina with vaginal morbidity may be due to uncertainties involved in the delineation of vaginal wall and dosimetry. Future research is required to accurately define vaginal dose distribution to study its correlation with vaginal morbidity. Vaginal morbidity needs to be documented in order to improve the sexual outcome in these patients.

Evaluation of Response to Preoperative Chemotherapy Versus Surgery Alone in Gastroesophageal Cancer: Tumor Resectability, Pathologic Results and Post-Operative Complications

  • Gastroesophageal cancer is one of the most common types of cancer worldwide. Despite significant developments in management, 5-year survival in the developing world is less than 20 percent. Due to restricted research about the impact of preoperative chemotherapy (POC) on tumor resection, pathological response and postoperative complications in Iran, we designed and implemented the present retrospective cross- sectional study on 156 patients with gastroesophageal cancer (GEc) between 2013 and 2015 at Shariati Hospital of Tehran. Two groups were included, the first group had previously received preoperative chemotherapy and the second group had only undergone surgery. All patients were followed for at least one year after the operation in terms of tumor recurrence, relapse free survival and one-year survival. The two groups were eventually compared regarding tumor resection, pathological response, postoperative complications, recurrence rate and survival. The mean age was $66.5{\pm}7.3years$ and 78 percent were male. The tumor resectability, pathological response and postoperative complications in the group which received POC were 93.5%, 21.8% and 12.8%, respectively, and in the surgery alone group figures for tumor resection and postoperative complications were 76% and 29.5%, respectively. Also based on our study the 5-year survival in the POC group was better (79.5% vs. 66.5%). Using standard neoadjuvant regimens (preoperative chemotherapy/chemoradiotherapy) beforesurgery could increase tumor resectability, pathological response, and improve the general status of the patients. Therefore using POC may be recommended over surgery alone.

  • 페놀 컴포지트(PC)의 실용화에 관해서 세계에서 가장 발전한 영국의 철도차량, 선박$.$주정과 해양 유전시설 등에서의 실적과, 관련한 상황을 조사하고 일.영 공동의 집필로 지금까지 4회 본지에 보고해 왔다. 본 보고에서 어떤 재료라도 실용화가 비교적 어렵다고는 것을 알 수 있었다. 금번 호에서는 $\ulcorner$건설.건축분야$\lrcorner$를 중심으로 영국에서의 $\ulcorner$PC 실용화$\lrcorner$의 현상을 정리하여 개설한다. 이 분야는 일본뿐만 아니라 영국, 프랑스, 미국에서도 신 재료가 시장에 진입하는 것은 어렵고, 각 국의 PC 관계자의 고통도 모두 마찬가지이다. 최 선단을 가는 영국의 $\ulcorner$PC 실용화$\lrcorner$도, 건축으로는 런던 지하철역 구내 화재 사방사고 이래, 지하철역, 학교. 병원, 시영 아파트 등에 $\ulcorner$PC$\lrcorner$ 화재대책으로써 시설이 뛰어나게 보완되어 $\ulcorner$세계의 모범$\lrcorner$이 되었지만, 지금도 대 지하상가에서 검은 연기 화재에 대한 걱정을 배제할 수 없다.
