A 61-year-old man with an antecedent febrile illness presented with progressive flaccid paraparesis, but no sensory or sphincter involvement. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) of the spine was negative and nerve conduction study (NCS) showed the absence of F-waves in his legs, suggesting $Guillain-Barr{\acute{e}}$ syndrome (GBS). However, abdominal pain after admission led to the consideration of the spinal cord ischemia secondary to aortic dissection confirmed by computed tomography. We report the rare condition of painless aortic dissection simulating GBS.

지식 정보 사회라 불리는 현대사회에서 학생의 정보 활용 능력의 증진은 매우 중요한 문제이다. 학교에서의 프로그래밍 교육은 문제 분석 능력, 논리적 사고력, 절차적 문제 해결 방식 등의 긍정적 역할을 한다. 그러나 제 7차 교육과정 중 초 중등 학교의 기본 교육과정에서 프로그래밍 교육이 제외되어 있는 상태이다. 따라서 GBS이론에 기초하여 초등학교 성장 발달 단계에 맞는 비주얼 베이직 학습 시스템 설계를 제안한다. GBS를 활용하여 학생들에게 미션, 커버스토리 제공, 역할을 주어 주입식의 교육이 아닌 능동적으로 학습할 수 있는 프로그래밍 학습 환경을 조성한다. 계속적인 연구와 설계에서 구현까지의 개발 완성을 통해 실제 수업에서 활용을 기대해 본다.

There have been very few reports in the literature of Guillain-Barr$\acute{e}$ syndrome (GBS) after spinal surgery. We present a unique case of GBS following spinal fusion for thoracic vertebral fracture. The aim of this report is to illustrate the importance of early neurological assessment and determining the exact cause of a new neurological deficit that occurs after an operation.

Miller Fisher syndrome (MFS) is a variant of Guillian-Barre syndrome (GBS) characterized by the triad of ophthalmoplegia, ataxia, and areflexia. Although recurrent GBS is a well known entity, the recurrence of MFS is extremely rare. Here we report an unusual case of recurrent MFS. Initially, the patient had presented with ophthalmoplegia, ataxia, areflexia, and tingling sensation of all extremities. After resolution of the first episode, the patient presented with atypical MFS characterized by ataxia, areflexia, and tingling sensation without ophthalmoplegia.

A 69-year-old woman presented with a progressive limb weakness. Both clinical and neurophysiological findings were consistent with diagnosis of Guillain-$Barr{\acute{e}}$ syndrome (GBS). Two days after admission, the patient suffered from an acute coronary syndrome without stenosis at coronary arteriography. Echocardiography revealed left ventricular inferior wall and apical akinesia and decreased ejection fraction. A diagnosis of Takotsubo cardiomyopathy was then made. Left ventricular dysfunction and electrocardiography normalized within one month. Takotsubo cardiomyopathy can be developed as a complication of GBS.

From among the group of patients diagnosed clinically to have Guillain-Barre syndrome(GBS), subgroups with pure motor involvement have been identified. Some of such patients appear to have an axonal neuropathy by eletrophysiology. Such cases have been termed acute motor axonal neuropathy(AMAN). Many of these patients are found clinically to have normal sensation and to have electrodiagnostic patterns consistent with selective degeneration of motor axons. A serological survey showed some of individuals with AMAN had evidence of antecedent Campylobacter jejuni(CJ) infection. And AMAN has an association with the presence of anti-ganglioside antibodies. This article reviewed briefly the AMAN and their relationship to CJ infection and anti-ganglioside antibodies.

In this work, we define bivariate Bernstein-Kantorovich type operators on a triangular domain and obtain some approximation results for these operators. We start off by computing some moment estimates and prove a Korovkin type convergence theorem. Then, we estimate the rate of convergence using the partial and complete modulus of continuity, and derive a Voronovskaya-type asymptotic theorem. Further, we calculate the order of approximation with regard to the Peetre's K-functional and a Lipschitz type class. In addition, we construct the associated GBS type operators and compute the rate of approximation using the mixed modulus of continuity and class of the Lipschitz of Bögel continuous functions for these operators. Finally, we use the two operators to approximate example functions in order to compare their convergence.

Facial diplegia (FD) rarely occurs as a regional Guillain-Barré syndrome (GBS) variant. A 70-year-old male presented with bifacial weakness that had started on the left side and extended to the right after several days. He was then treated using steroids and gradually improved. Serum antiganglioside antibody testing revealed positivity for anti-GM1 IgG antibodies. FD can be idiopathic, but it is an uncommon GBS variant. The ganglioside antibody test may increase the possibility of diagnosing isolated FD.

인터넷의 활용이 증가됨에 따라 사용자들은 수많은 정보를 주고받게 되었고 이러한 시대의 흐름에 부응하여 네트워크의 대한 지적인 관심도 높아지게 되었다. 그러나 기존의 네트워크 학습체계는 이론적인 개념위주의 평면적인 형태였고 네트워크 자체의 추상적이고 학습 원리와 개념을 경험하기 힘든학습의 특성 때문에 전체적인 학습의 흐름과 기능을 이루는 동작에 초점을 맞추기보다는 각 단위별단편적인 개념위주 내용만 제시하여 전체적인 흐름을 파악하고 학습할 수 있기에는 미흡하였다. 이러한 관점에서 학습 내용이 어려운 네트워크의 동작 원리를 시각적으로 쉽게 이해할 수 있는 학습 도구를 제공하여 학습의 이해와 성취도를 높이는 방법이 필요하다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 학습자가 입체적으로 원리를 파악할 수 있도록 쉽고 흥미로운 학습을 유도할 수 있는 학습 시나리오를 구성하여 학습내용 간 연계성이 있도록 하고 그래픽과 이미지적인 효과를 극대화 할 수 있는 애니메이션을 기반으로 하여 보다 효과적으로 인터넷 동작원리를 학습할 수 있는 학습시스템을 설계 및 구현하였다.
