This experiment was conducted to investigate the effect of wa-song (Orostachys japonicus A. Berger) extracts on the oxidative stability of edible oil. Wa-song was dried from hot air (HWE) and freeze (FWE), and then they were extracted by hot water. The different levels (0.1, 0.5 and 1.0 g/100 mL) of HWE and FWE were added to soybean oil and lard. The chromaticity of edible oils was generally increased with prolonged heating time and HWE was higher than FWE. The anisidine value showed significant increase during heating for 48hrs. After heating for 48 hrs, it was lower than control, except for HWE added sample of 0.5 and 1.0 g/100 mL, FWE added sample of 1.0 g/100 mL. In lard, it was lower in sample added wa-song extract than control. The acid value was not significant by added amount of wa-song. Its value in HWE added sample was lower than FWE, after heating for 48 hrs. POV was lower HWE than FWE, also. After heating for 24 hrs, TBA values in soybean oil containing HWE and FWE added sample was lower than control. In lard, its value in HWE and FWE added sample was lower than control during heating for $12{sim}48\;hrs$. Therefore, those results suggested that HWE has higher antioxidant activity than FWE added sample, and then oxidative stability of HWE in edible oil was more potential for lard during its heating.

To investigate concentration and sources of PCDD/Fs and Co-PCBs in sediments, total 52 sediment samples were measured at 17 sites in Geum River. As a result of analysis, total concentrations of PCDD/Fs and Co-PCBs were ranged from not detected (N.D.)~193.47 pg/g-d.w. (mean value: 84.52 pg/g-d.w) and 0.34~359.19 pg/g-d.w (mean value: 114.65 pg/g-d.w.) respectively. Also, toxic equivalent (TEQ) concentration of PCDD/Fs and Co-PCBs were ranged from N.D.~5.12 (mean value: 0.88) pg I-TEQ/g-d.w and N.D.~0.58 (mean value: 0.09) $WHO_{2005}$-TEQ pg/g-d.w. respectively. The upstream indicate the highest concentration and as it goes to the downstream, it has tendency to decrease. Higher chlorinated compounds were dominant in most of site which detected PCDD/Fs. Occurrence of Co-PCBs isomer patterns appear similar to each sampling site was found. The isomer patterns showed similar between sediment and PCB products. The principal component analysis also showed that the samples contained the characteristics of PCBs products.

Pepper seedlings of 6-leaf stage were inoculated with cell suspension of Xanthomonas euvesicatoria 1523 7 days after the application of Bion-M by soil-drenching. Disease severity in the treatment with 20 ${\mu}g\;mL^{-1}$ of acibenzolar-S-methyl, with which Bion-M was composed, was 19%, whereas that of the untreated control was 75%. The resulting control value of acibenzolar-S-methyl was calaulated as much as 74.7%. The control value of acibenzolar-S-methyl was dependent with the applied concentrations and ranged 29.3% to 49.3% at 4.0 and 0.8 ${\mu}g\;mL^{-1}$ of acibenzolar-S-methyl, respectively. Phytotoxicity was observed at 20.0 ${\mu}g\;mL^{-1}$, as lower leaves became to be yellowed and defoliated. The cell density of inoculum suspension of X. euvesicatoria 1523 affected the control value of acibenzolar-S-methyl. With optical density (O.D.) of 0.5 the control value of 4.0 ${\mu}g\;mL^{-1}$ of acibenzolar-S-methyl was 86.0%. However, the control value improved as high as 97.8% at the O.D. value of 0.1. The control value was 75.0% in adult plant of pepper, when acibenzolar-S-methyl was treated by soil-drenching 7 days before inoculation with cell suspension of X. euvesicatoria 1523. The control effect of acibenzolar-S-methyl on pepper bacterial spot was obtained in pepper field, showing that the control value at 10.0 ${\mu}g\;mL^{-1}$ was 71.2%.
The physical properties of jellified soybean curd residue (Biji) with the addition of various gums were investigated to optimize the direct availability of a by-product of the tofu production process. The lightness (L value) of the jellified Biji prepared with various gums was approximately 77~80, regardless of the concentration of gum used. Especially at the concentration of 0.1% and 0.3%, a pectin showed a significantly higher value compared with other gelling agents (carrageenan and agar). The strength of samples prepared on the basis of carrageenan showed the value of 335~569 $g/cm^2$ and 234~335 $g/cm^2$ according to the addition of locust bean gum and xanthan gum, respectively. On the other hand, the samples made with pectin and agar were 134~272 $g/cm^2$ and 50~215 $g/cm^2$, respectively. Where locust bean gum was used as a viscous agent, the adhesiveness of sample prepared by adding carrageenan was greater than those made with pectin or agar. The values were -6.0~-11.0 g, -2.7~-10.2 g and -3.7~-7.0 g, respectively. Overall, the strength and adhesiveness of samples according to increase of the added amount of Biji showed constantly increasing trend regardless of the type of gelling agent used. In the sample containing carrageenan this trend was most noticeable.
This study was carried out to find new anti-tumor agent producing microbe and to characterize the anti-tumor agent produced from the microbe. Purified compound that has a high cytotoxicity against tumor cell-lines could be obtained from the broth culture filtrates of Streptomyces sp.409 strain isolated from soil in Korea. The in vitro cytotoxicity the in vivo evaluation of acute toxicity the safety assessment of the anti-tumor compounds and the taxonomic characteristics of the anti-tumor agent were measured. The antitumor compound 1 and 2 were obtained from the broth culture filtrates of Streptomyces sp.409 strain. The cytotoxicity of the compound 1 against tumor cell-line P388D$_1$ showed almost 4.5 times higher than that of adriamycin. However in the cytotoxicity against normal cell line Vero E6, adriamycin showed adversely 4 times higher than the compound 1 ($IC_{50}$/ value: 228.7 $\mu\textrm{g}$/$m\ell$). In comparison study with compound 1 and compound 2 in the in vitro cytotoxin productivity against tumor cell lines, $IC_{50}$/ value of the compound 1 was 0.25 $\mu\textrm{g}$/$m\ell$ in tumor cell line P388D$_1$and 0.53 $\mu\textrm{g}$/$m\ell$ in tumor cell-line L1210, and that of the compound 2 was 7.18 $\mu\textrm{g}$/$m\ell$ and 35.71 $\mu\textrm{g}$/$m\ell$, respectively; LD$_{50}$ value of the compound 1 in the in vivo acute toxicity in mice was 22.62 $\mu\textrm{g}$/kg body weight. These results suggest that compound 1 purified from Streptomyces sp. 409 has anti-tumor activity and will be developed as an anti-tumor drug.g.
BACKGROUND/OBJECTIVES: The leaves of Moringa oleifera (MO) and Moringa stenopetala (MS) commonly grown in Ethiopia possess potential nutritional and medicinal value. The aim of this study was to evaluate the nutritional and functional characteristics of the dried leaf powder from two Moringa species to develop sustainable nutritional supplements for Ethiopians from locally grown plant sources. MATERIALS/METHODS: Freshly harvested and air-dried MO and MS leaves were authenticated and the nutritional contents, such as protein, ash, lipids, and selected vitamins and minerals, were analyzed using standard analytical procedures. Amino acid compositions were also determined by an amino acid analyzer. Nine-week-old mice were randomly divided into four groups to investigate the anti-obesity effects of Moringa. The first group was fed a basal diet, the second group a high-fat diet, and the others were fed a high-fat diet containing 0.1% Moringa leaf powder from each species. After seven weeks, serum indices related to lipid profiles from each mouse were analyzed. RESULTS: The present study revealed high protein (28-29%) and ash (7-11%) contents. Glutamic acid, aspartic acid, proline, and leucine were the most abundantly found amino acids in both species. The predominant minerals in the leaf powder were calcium (826-1,530 mg/100 g), potassium (794-904 mg/100 g), and magnesium (286-431 mg/100 g). Pyridoxine (475.06 mg/100 g) and vitamin E (34.2 mg/100 g) were found only in MS. Niacin was found only in MO at 32.21 mg/100 g, whereas ascorbic acid was found in both species (3.89 and 6.19 mg/100 g dry weight for MO and MS, respectively). The results of the animal study showed that mice on a high-fat diet containing 0.1% MO leaf powder alleviated the elevation of cholesterol, triglycerides, and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol induced by the high fat diet. MO was more effective than MS in preventing hypercholesterolemia and fat deposition. CONCLUSION: The findings in this work confirmed that Moringa leaves of both MO and MS possessed high nutritional value but MO was better at preventing the harmful effects of the high-fat diet than MS.

In this paper, we design and experiment a 5G-based metaverse motion synchronization system with configuration of a mobile motion capture studio that has not been commercialized at home and abroad. As a result of the experiment, the average value of the latency test measurement using Wi-Fi is 0.134 seconds faster than the average latency test measurement value using the 5G network. Existing motion capture studios have spatial limitations as the motion capture range is limited to the Wi-Fi communication range. However, the 5G-based metaverse motion synchronization system configures a mobile motion capture studio so that motion performers can solve the spatial limitations by expanding the motion capture communication range indefinitely regardless of time and place. Therefore, it is possible to implement realistic metaverse contents by displaying a realistic and natural digital human because it is free from spatial constraints. The system which was tested in this paper can create a new business model by converging next-generation technologies that are receiving attention related to the digital virtual world, such as motion capture + 5G + digital human twin + metaverse. And it allows for research and develop a next-generation metaverse-based broadcasting solution at a recent time when the business value of digital human and metaverse technologies and functions has been proven and related sales are growing in earnest.
A sulfonated PP-g-styrene ion-exchange hollow fiber membrane was prepared by pre-irradiation method with E-beam followed by sulfonation reaction. Degree of grafting increased with the increase of styrene monomer concentration and showed the maximum value of 128% at 80% of styrene monomer composition. Sulfonation yield increased with the degree of grafting. At 100% degree of grafting, sulfonation yield showed the maximum value of 13.4%. Ion exchange capacity of sulfonated HPP-g-styrene of 3.42 meq/g was attained, resulting in the remarkable increase of adsorption ability BET analysis proved that the surface area of sulfonated HPP-g-styrene was 62.54 $m^2/g$ and the mean pore size was 25 $\AA$. From the BSA adsorption experiments, the adsorption amount of BSA was increased with sulfonation. At 13.4% sulfonation yield the adsorption amount of BSA was maximum as 3.8 mg/g. Sulfonated HPP-g-styrene was synthesized successfully and suitable for the adsorption and separation of BSA.
The effect of various environmental conditions on the growth kinetics of Zymomonas mobilis were studied and the kinetic parameters were evaluated. The value of ${\mu}m$ was $0.45hr^{-1}$ and Ks was 0.23 g/L. Inhibition of growth at high glucose concentration was found to follow the threshold substrate inhibition. Threshold substrate concentration was 102 g/L and substrate inhibition constant was 196 g/L. The effects of yeast extract concentrations were found to follow the Monod equation. ${\mu}m$ value was $0.45hr^{-1}$ and Ks was 0.3 g/L at 20 g/L of glucose and $0.24hr^{-1}$ and 0.24 g/L respectively at 200 g/L of glucose. The optimum temperature was found to be $35^{\circ}C$ and the activation energy of growth was 7.7 Kcal/mole below $35^{\circ}C$ and -29 Kcal/mole above $35^{\circ}C$.
