  • In this paper, a new fuzzy sliding mode control algorithm is presented for trajectory control of robot manipulators. A fuzzy logic is applied to a sliding mode control algorithm to have the sliding mode gain adjusted continuously through fuzzy logic rules. With this scheme, te stability and the robustness of the proposed fuzzy logic control algorithm are proved and ensured by the sliding mode control law. The fuzzy logic controller requires only a few tuning parameters to adjust. Computer simulation results are given to show that the proposed algorithm can handle uncertain systems with large parameter uncertainties and external disturbances.

  • The main drawback of “classical”fuzzy systems is the inability to design and maintain their database. To overcome this disadvantage many types of extensions adding the adaptivity property to those systems were designed. This paper deals with one of them a new hybrid adaptation structure, called gradient-incremental adaptive fuzzy controller connecting gradient-descent methods with the so-called self-organizing fuzzy logic controller designed by Procyk and Mamdani. The aim is to incorporate the advantages of both Principles. This controller was implemented and tested on the system of LEGO robots. The results and comparison to a ‘classical’(non-adaptive) fuzzy controller designed by a human operator are also shown here.

  • Switched reluctance motor drives have been finding their applications in the variable speed drives due to their relatively low cost, simple and robust structure, controllability and high efficiency. Fuzzy control does not need any model of plant. It is based on plant operator experience and heuristics. Fuzzy control is basically adaptive and gives robust performance for plant parameter variation. This paper deals with the sped control of switched reluctance motor using fuzzy controller with 7-rule based fuzzy logic. The proposed fuzzy controller is superior to the control performance of the conventional PI controller. The fuzzy controller is implemented by 80C196KC, 16 bit one-chip microcontroller.

  • This paper presents the application of fuzzy algorithm for speed control of Switched Reluctance Motor. SRM has a h highly nonlinear control characteristic and operates in saturation to maximize the motor torque. A systematic approach t to the modeling of highly nonlinear SRM drive system which includes the fuzzy controller with coarse control and fine C control is presented. PelfOlmance analysis of SRM dJive is reported for a wide range of operating conditions through s speed variation and load perturbation dynamics. The pelfOlmance indices of SRM drive system operating with fuzzy 1 logic controller are compared with the conventional controller to highlight the merits. The expel1mental results are p presented to confilm the validity of proposed fuzzy 10밍c controller.

  • One of the important parts of the in-core fuel management is loading pattern optimization (LPO). The loading pattern optimization as a reasonable design of the in-core fuel management can improve both economic and safe aspects of the nuclear reactor. This work proposes the hybrid of fuzzy logic controller with harmony search algorithm (HS) for loading pattern optimization in a pressurized water reactor. The music improvisation process to find a pleasing harmony is inspiring the harmony search algorithm. In this work, the adjustment of the harmony search algorithm parameters such as the bandwidth and the pitch adjustment rate are increasing performance of the proposed algorithm which is done through a fuzzy logic controller. Hence, membership functions and fuzzy rules are designed to improve the performance of the HS algorithm and achieve optimal results. The objective of the method is finding an optimum core arrangement according to safety and economic aspects such as reduction of power peaking factor (PPF) and increase of effective multiplication factor (Keff). The proposed approach effectiveness has been tried in two cases, Michalewicz's bivariate function problem and NEACRP LWR core. The results show that by using fuzzy harmony search algorithm the value of the fitness function is improved by 15.35%. Finally, with regard to the new solutions proposed in this research it could be used as a trustworthy method for other optimization issues of engineering field.

  • In fuzzy logic control, static fuzzy rules cannot cope with significant changes of parameters of plants or environment. To solve this prohlem, self-organizing fuzzy control. neural-network-hased fuzzy logic control and so on have heen introduced so far. However, dynamically changed fuzzy rules of these schemes may make a fuzzy logic controller Fall into dangerous situations because the changed fuzzy rules may he incomplete or inconsistent. This paper proposes a new adaptive filzzy logic control scheme using a predictivc neural network. Although some parameters of a controlled plant or environment are changed, proposed fuzzy logic controller changes its decision outputs adaptively and robustly using unchanged initial fuzzy rules and the predictive errors generated hy the predictive neural network by on-line learning. Experimental results with a D<' servo-motor position control problem show that propnsed cnntrol scheme is very useful in the viewpoint of adaptability.

  • This paper aims to design of the neutrosophic fuzzy-PID controller and it has been compared with the conventional fuzzy-PID controller for position tracking control in terms of robustness. In the neutrosophic fuzzy-PID controller, error (e) and change of error (ce) were assessed separately on two fuzzy inference systems (FISs). In this study, the designed method is different from the conventional fuzzy logic controller design, membership degrees of antecedent variables were determined by using the T(true), I(indeterminacy), and F(false) membership functions. These membership functions are grouped on the universe of discourse with the neutrosophic set approach. These methods were tested on three-dimensional (3-D) position-tracking control application of a spherical robot manipulator in the MATLAB Simulink. In all tests, reference trajectory was defined for movements of all axes of the robot manipulator. According to the results of the study, when the moment of inertia of the rotor is changed, less overshoot ratio and less oscillation are obtained in the neutrosophic fuzzy-PID controller. Thus, our suggested method is seen to be more robust than the fuzzy-PID controllers.

  • In the fuzzy control method behaves more robustness than conventional control method, we propose a intelligent control method that membership functions and scaling factor of the fuzzy logic controller are optimized by genetic algorithm under off-line, and then fuzzy logic controller is constructed by the optimization parameters under on-line. In order to verify the usefulness of the proposed control method, we are applied to one link manipulator, and confirmed that the proposed control method is reduced the fuzzy rule base and is the better performance than the conventional fuzzy control method.

  • A controller and sensor fault tolerant system jot a steam generator is designed with fuzzy logic. A structure of the : proposed fault tolerant redundant system is composed of a supervisor and two fuzzy weighting modulators. A supervisor alternatively checks a controlled and a sensor induced performances to identify Which Part, a controller or a sensor, is faulty. In order to analyze controller induced performance both an error and a charge in error of the system output an chosen as fuzzy variables. The fuzzy logic jot a sensor induced performance uses two variables : a deviation between two sensor outputs and its frequency, Fuzzy weighting modulator generates an output signal compensated for faulty input signal. Simulations show that the : proposed fault tolerant control scheme jot a steam generator regulates welt water level by suppressing fault effect of either controllers or sensors. Therefore through duplicating sensors and controllers with the proposed fault tolerant scheme, both a reliability of a steam generator control and sensor system and that of a power plant increase even mote.

  • We proposed the design of SVC adaptive fuzzy logic controller(AFLC) using Tabu search and neural network. We tuned the gains of input-output variables of fuzzy logic controller(FLC) and weights of neural network using Tabu search. Neural network was used for adaptively tuning the output gain of FLC. The weights of neural network was learned from the back propagation algorithm in real-time. To evaluate the usefulness of AFLC, we applied the proposed method to single-machine infinite system. AFLC showed the better control performance than PD controller and GAFLS[10] for three-phase fault in nominal load which had used when tuning AFLC. To show the robustness of AFLC, we applied the proposed method to disturbances such as three-phase fault in heavy and light load. AFLC showed the better robustness than PD controller and GAFLC[10].
