  • A linguistic case-based fuzzy reasoning (LCBFR) based on standardized parametric membership functions (SPMF) is proposed. It provides an efficient mechanism for a fuzzy reasoning within linear time complexity. Thus, it can be used to improve the speed of fuzzy reasoning. In the process of LCBFR, linguistic case indexing and retrieval based on SPMF is suggested. It can be processed relatively fast compared to the previous linguistic approximation methods. From the engineering viewpoint, it may be a valuable advantage.

  • In this paper, a framework for implementing UFIS (Unified Fuzzy rule-based knowledge Inference System) is presented. First, fuzzy clustering and fuzzy rules deal with the presence of the knowledge in DB (DataBase) and its value is presented with a value between 0 and 1. Second, RDB (Relational DB) and SQL queries provide more flexible functionality fur knowledge management than the conventional non-fuzzy knowledge management systems. Therefore, the obtained fuzzy rules offer the user additional information to be added to the query with the purpose of guiding the search and improving the retrieval in knowledge base and/ or rule base. The framework can be used as DM (Data Mining) and ES (Expert Systems) development and easily integrated with conventional KMS (Knowledge Management Systems) and ES.

  • Effective information gathering and retrieval of the most relevant web documents on the topic of interest is difficult due to the large amount of information that exists in various formats. Current information gathering and retrieval techniques are unable to exploit semantic knowledge within documents in the "big data" environment; therefore, they cannot provide precise answers to specific questions. Existing commercial big data analytic platforms are restricted to a single data type; moreover, different big data analytic platforms are effective at processing different data types. Therefore, the development of a common big data platform that is suitable for efficiently processing various data types is needed. Furthermore, users often possess more than one intelligent device. It is therefore important to find an efficient preference profile construction approach to record the user context and personalized applications. In this way, user needs can be tailored according to the user's dynamic interests by tracking all devices owned by the user.

  • In this paper, we extend FARGs single mode attribute to multiple attributes for real image application and present a new CBIR using FMARG(Fuzzy Multiple Attribute Relational Graph), which can handle queries involving multiple attributes, not only object label, but also color, texture and spatial relation. In the experiment using the synthetic image database of 1,024 images and the natural image database of 1.026 images built from NETRA database and Corel Draw, the proposed approach shows 6~30% recall increase in the synthetic image database and a good performance, at the displacements and the retrieved number of similar images in the natural image database, compared with the single attribute approach.

  • A Domain Dictionary generation algorithm based on pseudo feedback model is presented in this paper. This algorithm can increase the precision of domain dictionary generation algorithm. The generation of Domain Dictionary is regarded as a domain term retrieval process: Assume that top N strings in the original retrieval result set are relevant to C, append these strings into the dictionary, retrieval again. Iterate the process until a predefined number of domain terms have been generated. Experiments upon corpus show that the precision of pseudo feedback model based algorithm is much higher than existing algorithms.

  • In reusable component retrieval systems with facet-based schemes, facet queries are generally used for representing the characteristics of components relevant to users. This paper proposes an expanded facet query equipped with an object-based thesaurus to precisely formulate user's intents. To evaluate the query, a component retrieval system is also designed and implemented. For exactly retrieving the components, user's query should include relevant facet values capable of fully specifying their characteristics. However, simply listing a series of facet values directly inputted by users, conventional queries fails to precisely represent user's intents. Our query, called expanded facet query, employs fuzzy boolean operators and object-based thesaurus; the former logically expresses the fuzzy connectives between facet queries and required components, whereas the latter helps users appropriately select the specific facet values into the query. A thesaurus query is provided to recommend the relevant facet values with their fuzzy degrees from the thesaurus as well. Furthermore, our retrieval system can automatically formulate queries with the recommended facet values, if necessary.

  • Increase of multimedia information in Web requires a new method to manage and service multimedia documents efficiently. This paper proposes a conceptual object grouping method by fuzzy filtering, which is automatically constituted based on increase of multimedia documents. The proposed method composes subsumption relations between conceptual objects automatically using fuzzy filtering of the document objects that are extracted from domains. Grouping of such conceptual objects is regarded as subsumption relation which is decided by $\mu$-cut. This paper proposes $\mu$-cut, FAS(Fuzzy Average Similarity) and DSR(Direct Subsumption Relation) to decide fuzzy filtering, which groups related document objects easily. This paper used about 1,000 conceptual objects in the performance test of the proposed method. The simulation result showed that the proposed method had better retrieval performance than those for OGM(Optimistic Genealogy Method) and BGM(Balanced Genealogy Method).

  • Relevance feedback is a technique to learn the user's subjective perception of similarity between images, and has recently gained attention in Content Based Image Retrieval. Most relevance feedback methods assume that the individual features that are used in similarity judgments do not interact with each other. However, this assumption severely limits the types of similarity judgments that can be modeled In this paper, we explore a more sophisticated model for similarity judgments based on fuzzy measures and the Choquet Integral, and propose a suitable algorithm for relevance feedback, Experimental results show that the proposed method is preferable to traditional weighted- average techniques.

  • The appearance of Web has brought an substantial revolution to all fields of society such knowledge management and business transaction as well as traditional information retrieval. In this paper, we propose an EFASIT(Extended Fuzzy AHP and SImilarity Technology) model considering the emotion analysis. And we combine the Extended Fuzzy AHP Method(EFAM) with SImilarity Technology(SIT) based on the domain corpus information in order to efficiently retrieve the document on the Web. The proposed the EFASIT model can generate the more definite rule according to integration of fuzzy knowledge of various decision-maker, and can give a help to decision-making, and confirms through the experiment.

  • At recent, people can easily access to information by Internet to be rapidly evolving. And also, the amount is rapidly increasing. So the techniques, to automatically extract the required information are very important to reduce the time and the effort for retrieving information. In this paper, we describe a collaborative filtering system for automatically recommending high-quality information to users with similar interests on arbitrarily narrow information domains. It asks a user to rate a gauge set of items. It then evaluates the user's rates and suggests a recommendation set of items. We interpret the process of evaluation as an inference mechanism that maps a gauge set to a recommendation set. We accomplish the mapping with FAM (Fuzzy Associative Memory). We implemented the suggested system in a Web server and tested its performance in the domain of retrieval of technical papers, especially in the field of information technologies. The experimental results show that it may provide reliable recommendations.
