System Implementation and Algorithm Development for Classification of the Activity States Using 3 Axial Accelerometer (3축 가속도를 이용한 활동상태 분류 시스템 구현 및 알고리즘 개발)

  • A real time monitoring system from a PC has been developed which can be accessed through transmitted data, which incorporates an established low powered transport system equipped with a single chip combined with wireless sensor network technology from a three-axis acceleration sensor. In order to distinguish between static posture and dynamic posture, the extracted parameter from the rapidly transmitted data needs differentiation of movement and activity structures and status for an accurate measurement. When results interpret a static formation, statistics referring to each respective formation, known as the K-mean algorithm is utilized to carry out a determination of detailed positioning, and when results alter towards dynamic activity, fuzzy algorithm (fuzzy categorizer), which is the relationship between speed and ISVM, is used to categorize activity levels into 4 stages. Also, the ISVM is calculated with the instrumented acceleration speed on the running machine according to various speeds and its relationship with kinetic energy goes through correlation analysis. With the evaluation of the proposed system, the accuracy level stands at 100% at a static formation and also a 96.79% accuracy with kinetic energy and we can easily determine the energy consumption through the relationship between ISVM and kinetic energy.

  • An image segmentation model using fuzzy c-means with intuition (FCM-I) model is proposed for the segmentation of magnetic resonance image in this paper. In FCM-I, a measurement called intuition level is adopted so that the intuition level helps to alleviate the effect of noises. A practical magnetic resonance image data set is used for image segmentation experiment and the performance is compared with those of some conventional algorithms. Results show that the segmentation method based on FCM-I compares favorably to several conventional clustering algorithms. Since FCM-I produces cluster prototypes less sensitive to noises and to the selection of involved parameters than the other algorithms, FCM-I is a good candidate for image segmentation problems.

  • DNA 염기 서열 배치 알고리즘은 분자 생물학 분야에서 단백질과 핵산 서열들의 분석에서 중요한 방법이다. 생물학적인 염기 서열들은 그들 사이의 유사성과 차이점을 나타내기 위해 정렬된다. 본 논문에서는 기존의 DNA 염기 서열 배치 방법을 개선하기 위하여 DP(Dynamic Programming) 알고리즘의 비용증가( O (nm) ) 문제를 해결하는 Quadrant 방법과 품질 정보 및 퍼지 추론시스템(fuzzy inference system)을 적용한 DNA 염기 서열 배치 알고리즘을 제안한다. 본 논문에서 제안한 DNA 염기 서열 배치 알고리즘은 Quadrant 방법을 적용하여 Needleman-Wunsch의 DP 기반 알고리즘에서의 행렬 생성 단계에서 발생하는 불필요한 정렬 계산을 제거하여 전체 수행 시간을 단축하고, 각 DNA 염기 서열 단편 각각의 길이 차이와 낮은 품질의 DNA 염기 빈도를 퍼지 추론 시스템에 적용하여 지능적으로 갭 비용(gap cost)을 동적으로 조정한다. 제안된 알고리즘의 성능 평가를 위해 NCBI (National Center for Biotechnology Information)의 실제 유전체 데이터로 성능을 분석한 결과, 제안된 알고리즘이 기존의 품질정보만을 이용한 알고리즘보다 개선된 것을 확인하였다.

Design of Model to Recognize Emotional States in a Speech

  • Verbal communication is the most commonly used mean of communication. A spoken word carries a lot of informations about speakers and their emotional states. In this paper we designed a model to recognize emotional states in a speech, a first phase of two phases in developing a toy machine that recognizes emotional states in a speech. We conducted an experiment to extract and analyse the emotional state of a speaker in relation with speech. To analyse the signal output we referred to three characteristics of sound as vector inputs and they are the followings: frequency, intensity, and period of tones. Also we made use of eight basic emotional parameters: surprise, anger, sadness, expectancy, acceptance, joy, hate, and fear which were portrayed by five selected students. In order to facilitate the differentiation of each spectrum features, we used the wavelet transform analysis. We applied ANFIS (Adaptive Neuro Fuzzy Inference System) in designing an emotion recognition model from a speech. In our findings, inference error was about 10%. The result of our experiment reveals that about 85% of the model applied is effective and reliable.

  • 기존의 단층 퍼셉트론은 출력 노드가 선형 분리 가능한 패턴들만을 분류할 수 있고 Exclusive OR와 같은 비선형 문제에 대해서는 분류할 수 없는 단점이 있다. 그러나 퍼지 단층 퍼셉트론은 퍼지소속 함수(fuzzy membership function)를 적용하여 단층 구조로 Exclusive OR 문제와 같은 고전적인 문제를 개선하였다. 그러나 퍼지 단층 퍼셉트론은 기존의 단층 퍼셉트론과 마찬가지로 결정 경계선이 진동하는 경우가 생기며 초기 가중치의 범위와 학습률에 따라 수렴성이 매우 낮아지는 단점이 있다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 바이어스항을 도입하여 결정 경계선이 진동하는 것을 방지하여 수렴성을 개선시키고 선형 활성화 함수를 제안하고 학습률과 모멘텀 개념을 도입하여 학습 시간을 단축시키는 개선된 퍼지 단층 퍼셉트론 알고리즘을 제안한다. 제안된 방법과 퍼지 단층 퍼셉트론간의 학습 성능을 분석하기 위하여 인공 신경망에서 벤치마크로 사용되는 exclusive OR 문제와 문자 패턴 분류에 적용하여 epoch 수와 수렴성을 비교한 결과, 제안된 방법이 기존의 퍼지 단층 퍼셉트론보다 학습 시간이 적게 소요되고 수렴성이 개선된 것을 확인하였다.

Damage level prediction of non-reshaped berm breakwater using ANN, SVM and ANFIS models

  • The damage analysis of coastal structure is very important as it involves many design parameters to be considered for the better and safe design of structure. In the present study experimental data for non-reshaped berm breakwater are collected from Marine Structures Laboratory, Department of Applied Mechanics and Hydraulics, NITK, Surathkal, India. Soft computing techniques like Artificial Neural Network (ANN), Support Vector Machine (SVM) and Adaptive Neuro Fuzzy Inference system (ANFIS) models are constructed using experimental data sets to predict the damage level of non-reshaped berm breakwater. The experimental data are used to train ANN, SVM and ANFIS models and results are determined in terms of statistical measures like mean square error, root mean square error, correla-tion coefficient and scatter index. The result shows that soft computing techniques i.e., ANN, SVM and ANFIS can be efficient tools in predicting damage levels of non reshaped berm breakwater.

Enough considering the ground friction forces and ensure the stability of the mobile robot system and the disturbance compensation, etc. In this case, the controller design will be possible. In addition, the nonlinear model, the dynamic characteristics of the mobile robot control method of adaptive fuzzy control techniques in the design that you want to fully reflect Non-holonomic system of mobile robots and solve sleep problems, and will be useful enough, it was verified through computer simulations.

  • As a part II of theis research, new local inspection planning strategy is proposed in this paper based on the proposed inspection feature extraction method. In the local inspection planning stage, each feature is decomposed into its constituent geometric elements for more effective inspection planning. The local inspection planning for the decomposed features are performed to determine: (1) the suitable number of measuring points, (2) their locations, and (3) the optimum probing paths to minimize measuring errors and times. The fuzzy set theory, the Hammersley's algorithm and the TSP method are applied for the local inspection planning. Also, a new collision checking algorithm is proposed for the probe and/or probe holder based on the Z-map concept. Finally, the results are simulated and analyzed to verify the effectiveness of the proposed methods.

  • This paper presents the integrated storage function model (ISFM) to improve the accuracy of the storage function model (SFM) which is widely employed for flood runoff analysis and its forecasting in Korea. In order to achieve this objective, the optimization method is applied for estimation of parameters of the model which dominate the accuracy of the analysis, which is usually taken by empirical formulae, and they are treated as time dependent variables. The fuzzy control technique is used to detennine the time variant parameters. In addition, the ISFM can be applied to the combined routing of the watershed and the channel with a residual watershed.ershed.

  • The World Wide Web provides new opportunities for cyber education over the Internet. The web, when combined with other network tools, can be used to provide useful educational information to learners. Thus, the objective of this paper is to develop Java applet for understanding the concept of Fuzzy Logic Controller (FLC) on the Internet. The developed Java Applet is composed of four frames: fuzzifier, rulebase, inference engine and defuzzifier. Since data transmission can be achieved from one frame to other frames, users can easily observe and understand the process of FLC. The results of this paper can be used to improve the efficiency of lectures in the cyber university.
