A Study of Husband's Problem Drinking on the Wife's Problem Drinking -Focused on the mediating Effect of Spouse Abuse- (남성가구주의 음주가 배우자 음주에 미치는 영향 -배우자 폭력의 매개효과-)

  • Research has consistently reported a strong association between spouse abuse and problem drinking. The primary aim of this study was to examine the role of spouse abuse as mediator between the husband's problem and wife's problem drinking. Data from 1st year Korea Welfare Panel were used for the analysis. Subjects in this study consisted of 3,284 male household who aged between 19 years old and 64 years old. The statistical significance was tested by SPSS 18.0, AMOS 18.0. The findings of the study were as follows: First, husband's problem drinking were significantly affected to the wife's problem drinking. Second, there was a strong association between husband's problem drinking and spouse abuse. Third, spouse abuse worked as mediators between the husband's problem and wife's problem drinking. Based upon these findings we suggest to develop an integrated substance abuse-domestic violence treatment program. The implications and limitations of these findings were discussed, and directions for future studies were also proposed.

DeNitrification-DeComposition (DNDC) Improvement through Model Coupling and Sub-model Development Considering Agricultural Land Use and Future Climate Change

  • Climate change is the biggest concern of the $21^{st}$ century. Greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from various sectors are attracting attention as a cause of climate change. The DeNitrification-DeComposition (DNDC) model simulates GHG emissions from cropland. To study future GHG emissions using this simulation model, various factors that could change in future need to be considered. Because most problems are from the agricultural sector, DNDC would be unable to solve the factor-changing problem itself. Hence, it is necessary to link DNDC with separate models that simulate each element. Climate change is predicted to cause a variety of environmental disasters in the future, having a significant impact on the agricultural environment. In the process of human adaptation to environmental change, the distribution and management methods of farmland will also change greatly. In this study, we introduce some drawbacks of DNDC in considering future changes, and present other existing models that can rectify the same. We further propose some combinations with models and development sub-models.

How to Develop Future Internet Medical Care?: A Case Study of China

  • Purpose - With the increasing medical demands of the public, the development of future Internet medical care has come to represent a major problem. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to discuss future development strategies for Interne medical care while taking China's Internet hospitals as an example case. Research design, data, and methodology - This study conducted a case study of China's Internet hospitals to summarize the fundamental problems faced by Internet hospitals and propose future development strategies to overcome these problems for Internet medical care. Result - Although Internet hospitals have been regarded as the ultimate product of Internet medical care, from the perspective of the government, medical institutions, platforms builders and maintainers, and patients, they still face some basic issues. Conclusion - This study concludes that the government and medical institutions play an important role in the future development of Internet medical care and suggests that the government should make overall plans for the policies and standards and should play the main role in enhancing the public trust in Internet medical care, while medical institutions should take steps such as seizing policy opportunities, driving online and offline collaborations, and constructing suitable evaluation systems to promote the development of Internet medical care.

  • Teaching and learning research is essential to prepare for the era of the 4th industrial revolution. We must strengthen the creative educational capabilities of prospective teachers by improving the curriculum and teaching-learning model of teacher training colleges. Future education should foster creative thinking based on communication and collaboration. In this study, we improved the future teaching and learning model and applied it to actual classes. In addition, we verified the effectiveness by conducting pre- and post-surveys on the capabilities of future creative teachers. The survey consists of common satisfaction questions and questions about future creative teacher capabilities. As a result of the analysis, we confirmed that the capacity of future creative teachers increased.

The Relation between the Problem Solving Ability and Clinical Practice Satisfaction of Dental Hygiene Students (일부 치위생과 학생의 문제해결능력과 임상실습만족도와의 관계)

  • Objectives: This study was carried out to provide basic materials to draw up measures for courses operation and effective clinical practice operation for the cultivation of future effective problem solving ability by identifying the relationship between problem solving ability and clinical practice satisfaction of dental hygiene students. Methods: This study targeted 215 dental hygiene students from 3 universities located in Gyeonggi-do from November 30 to December 4, 2015. We analyzed the data with frequency analysis, descriptive statistics, t-test. One-way ANOVA, Pearson correlation coefficient, Regression analysis by using SPSS. Results: Clinical practice satisfaction between grades according to the general characteristics of the study subjects was analyzed and as a result, clinical practice satisfaction showed a significant difference depending on grade (t=-2.355, p=.019), major satisfaction(F=9.548, p=.000), health status(F=4.909, p=.008). The problem solving ability according to the general characteristics of the study subjects was compared and as a result, the problem solving ability score of students 'living apart from their family or living in lodgings' was found to be higher than that of students 'living with their family' (p=.023) and the problem solving ability of students who answered 'satisfied' with their major was higher than that of students who answered 'moderate' (p=.000). As the problem solving ability and major satisfaction are higher and health status is better, clinical practice satisfaction showed higher results (p<.01). Conclusions: The above results showed a correlation between the problem solving ability and clinical practice satisfaction of dental hygiene students and clinical practice satisfaction showed higher scores as the problem solving ability level was higher. Therefore, efforts to enhance dental hygiene students' clinical practice satisfaction are considered necessary by developing and providing a program to strengthen students' problem solving ability.

A Delphi Study on Competencies of Future Green Architectural Engineer (근미래 친환경 건축분야 엔지니어에게 필요한 역량에 대한 델파이 연구)

  • With rapid advance of technologies including information and communication technologies, jobs are evolving faster than ever. Architectural engineering is no exception in this regard, and the green architectural engineering is emerging fast as a promising new field. In this study, a Delphi study of expert architectural engineers are conducted to find out (1) near future prospects of the field, (2) near future emerging jobs, (3) competencies needed for these jobs, and (4) educational content necessary to build these competencies with regards to the green architectural engineering. Initial Delphi survey consisting of open-ended questions in the above four areas were conducted and came out with 65 items after duplicate removal and semantic refinements. Further refinements via second and third wave of Delphi results into 40 items that the 13 architectural engineering experts may largely agree upon as future prospects with regards to the green architectural engineering. Findings indicate that it is expected that the demand for green architectural engineering and needs for automatic energy control system increase. Also, collaborations with other fields is becoming more and more important in green architectural engineering. The professional work management skills such as knowledge convergence, problem solving, collaboration skills, and creativity linking components from various related areas seem to also be on the increasing need. Near future ready critical skills are found to be the building environment control techniques (thermal, light, sound, and air), the data processing techniques like data mining, energy monitoring, and the control and utilization of environmental analysis software. Experts also agree on new curriculum for green building architecture to be developed with more of converging subjects across disciplines for future ready professional skills and experiences. Major topics to be covered in the near future includes building environment studies, building energy management, energy reduction systems, indoor air quality, global environment and natural phenomena, and machinery and electrical facility. Architectural engineering community should be concerned with building up the competencies identified in this Delphi preparing for fast advancing future.

Psychological Aspects of Household Debt Decision: The Use of the Heckman's Procedure

  • This paper examined the impact of psychological characteristics of consumers on household debt decisions. With the use of the Heckit models (the traditional approach to the selection problem) this study undertook an empirical study of the influence of a wide range of factors on financial decisions. This study used U.S. household-level data that offers detailed information on household debt, expectations about future income, expectations about future economic conditions, the amount of financial risk the respondent was willing to take, and the amount of time allotted for planning family savings and spending. This study showed that respondents with both substantial financial risk tolerance and positive expectations about future income were likely to have larger household debt showing that researchers and policy-makers need to consider consumer sentiment and preference measures in modeling behavior in credit markets. Additional results showed that household debt is significantly related to two key economic variables: income and net worth.

A Study on Surveying Consumers' Needs for Developing the Future Kitchen (미래부엌 개발을 위한 소비자 요구 조사 연구)

  • The purpose of this study was to diagnose the characteristics of current use of kitchen and scrutinize what to improve for the future kitchen development. To achieve the purpose, the small group wordshop panel was used. Two groups of 5 housewives per each were employed. For each group, there were a total of 3 consecutive meetings including 2 workshops and 1 field survey in each subject's house. The contents dealt with in the panel were as follows. First, actual condition and problems of using kitchen; second , possible solutions of the problems; third, needs for developing future kitchen. The major results were first, consumers require bigger kitchens to accomodate a variety of family activities ; second, kitchen needed to be more open encouraging family interaction and gave organic relationship to adjacent such as living room and utility room; third, due to korean cooking style, poor ventilation along with wet trash disposal was a serious problem. In addition to these. there revealed many problems which need to be improved and valuable ideas for the improvement.

The Development and Application Effects of Youth Future Career Programs (청소년의 미래진로프로그램 개발 및 적용 효과)

  • The purpose of this study was to develop a Youth Future Career Program for adolescents and to look into the effects of the program on the future efficacy. Through the program, adolescents would predict the future, explore alternative futures to solve future problems, find the shape of the future society they want and desire. In addition, they will discover or create future jobs. In this study, the Youth Future Career Program was developed into four modules: Future Understanding, Future Participation, Future-self, and Future Management. Ninety-three students in K University's Gifted Education Center participated in the Future Career Program (62 males and 31 females, 62 middle school students, and 31 high school students). The students responded to 14 questions about the future efficacy of the Youth before and after the program. Statistically significant differences were observed in 8 out of 14 questions (p<.05). In particular, the abilities of the participants were improved as follows: to apply newly learned things to society, to evaluate the current problems, to develop critical thinking to solve the problem, and to communicate with members of society.

Exact Algorithm for the Weapon Target Assignment and Fire Scheduling Problem (표적 할당 및 사격순서결정문제를 위한 최적해 알고리즘 연구)

  • We focus on the weapon target assignment and fire scheduling problem (WTAFSP) with the objective of minimizing the makespan, i.e., the latest completion time of a given set of firing operations. In this study, we assume that there are m available weapons to fire at n targets (> m). The artillery attack operation consists of two steps of sequential procedure : assignment of weapons to the targets; and scheduling firing operations against the targets that are assigned to each weapon. This problem is a combination of weapon target assignment problem (WTAP) and fire scheduling problem (FSP). To solve this problem, we define the problem with a mixed integer programming model. Then, we develop exact algorithms based on a dynamic programming technique. Also, we suggest how to find lower bounds and upper bounds to a given problem. To evaluate the performance of developed exact algorithms, computational experiments are performed on randomly generated problems. From the results, we can see suggested exact algorithm solves problems of a medium size within a reasonable amount of computation time. Also, the results show that the computation time required for suggested exact algorithm can be seen to increase rapidly as the problem size grows. We report the result with analysis and give directions for future research for this study. This study is meaningful in that it suggests an exact algorithm for a more realistic problem than existing researches. Also, this study can provide a basis for developing algorithms that can solve larger size problems.
