수출중소기업의 시장지향성과 브랜드지향성이 기업역량 및 수출성과에 미치는 영향 (The Influences of SMEs' Market Orientation and Brand Orientation on Firm Capabilities and Performance in Export Markets)

  • 본 연구는 자원기반관점에 입각하여 국내 중소기업의 시장지향성과 브랜드지향성이 기술역량, 마케팅역량, 수출경쟁우위 및 수출재무성과에 미치는 영향에 대해 조사하였다. 이를 위해 대한상공회의소의 DB를 바탕으로 수출 제조 중소기업을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였으며 총 286부가 실증분석에 이용되었다. 분석 결과, 중소기업의 시장지향성은 기술역량과 마케팅역량을 제고할 뿐만 아니라 수출시장에서의 경쟁우위를 점하고 높은 재무성과를 달성하도록 하는 요인으로 나타났다. 또한 브랜드지향성은 기술역량과 마케팅역량을 통해 경쟁우위와 재무성과에 간접적인 영향을 미치며, 기술역량과 마케팅역량 모두 중소기업이 해외시장에서 경쟁우위를 차지하게 하여 재무성과를 내게 하는 요인임이 밝혀졌다. 본 연구결과는 시장지향성과 브랜드지향성이 국내 중소기업의 역량과 수출성과에 미치는 영향에 대해 제시함으로써 이들의 해외시장에서의 경쟁력과 성과 제고를 위한 시사점을 제언하였다는 점에서 의의가 있다.

사회적 네트워크와 흡수역량이 기술협력에 미치는 영향에 관한 탐색적 비교분석 연구 (A Exploratory Comparison Study of Social Network and Absorptive Capacity on Technological Alliance)

  • 최근 기술과 시장의 변화가 빨라지고 복잡해짐에 따라 기업경쟁력이 내부 역량뿐만 아니라 외부와의 다양한 형태의 기술협력을 통해 효율적으로 창출할 수 있다는 인식이 확산되고 있다. 기업의 기술협력 구조와 성과 결정요인으로 사회적 네트워크와 흡수역량이 중요하다고 지적되고 있지만 대부분의 선행 연구는 사회적 네트워크와 흡수역량을 개별적 요인으로 분석하였다. 본 연구는 기업의 사회적 네트워크와 흡수역량이 벤처기업의 기술협력 파트너 선정, 거버넌스 유형 선택, 성과에 미치는 영향력을분석하였다. 국내 215개 벤처기업의 설문조사 자료를 분석한 결과, 흡수역량은 과업관련 기준과 파트너관련 기준 모두에 영향을 주는 반면 사회적 네트워크는 파트너 관련 기준에 영행을 주는 것으로 나타났다. 흡 수역량과 사회적 네트워크는 기술협력 거번너스에 영향을 미치지 않는 것으로 조사되었다. 흡수역량은 기술협력 성과에 영향을 주는 반면 사회적 네트워크는 기술협력 성과에 영향을 주지 않는 것으로 분석되었다.

  • This study aims at proposing a direction of improving the efficiency in Korean information technology(IT) industry. In the face of re-engineering which has been done in most industries, it is very important to assess the validity of their restructuring or M&A based on the future efficiency. At first, by using the DEA/WINDOW, we will evaluate how the 30 firms are efficient for outputting their performance with respect to the profit realization and market ability. Then, in order to propose the direction of the efficiency improvement and suitable restructuring strategy, we will clarify how the efficiency of IT firms depends on their firm size. Finally, we will analyze their 'economy of scale' and also reveal how their economy of scale depends on the firm size based on return-to-scale(RTS).

CSR Practices and Corporate Financial Performance: Evidence from China

  • Purpose - The purpose of this paper is to explore the relationship between corporate social responsibility (CSR) and corporate present and future value. Design/methodology/approach - This paper intends to prove the relationship between CSR and corporate value once again by selecting A-share companies listed on the China Shenzhen Stock Exchange and Shanghai Stock Exchange from 2010 2017. This paper also examines the effect of five dimensions of CSR on corporate value in China. Findings - Empirical evidence shows that CSR is conducive to corporate value. The fulfillment of social responsibilities improves firm value in the future. Further, the regression results show that the social responsibility of the non-state-owned enterprise (Non-SOEs) group has a more significant effect on corporate financial performance than on the state-owned enterprise (SOEs) group. Research implications or Originality - This study has limitations. First, the grouping is only divided into two groups of SOEs and non-SOEs, and we did not consider foreign investments, that is, foreign-funded enterprises, for the comparative analysis. Second, only the linear relationship between CSR and corporate value was tested. In the future, we must determine whether there exists a nonlinear relationship between the two key concepts. Finally, there exists no research on CSR and corporate value by specific industries. Thus, the relationship between the five dimensions of CSR and corporate value should be investigated by specific industries.

지식 경영 프로세스의 모형에 관한 탐색적 연구 (An Exploratory Study on the Knowledge Management Process Models)

  • Today a knowledge management systems (KMS) is an enabler for gaining competitive position in the market environments. However, it is just recognized as a conceptual management paradigm not as realistic management philosophy in an organization. A firm just accustomed to deal with tangible assets such as inventory and buildings based on the cumulated experiences. However, the firm often struggle with how to define and apply the knowledge management system into its real business activities such as business strategy and productivity. For example, one of textile company, E-land, in Korea found the way how the firm utilize intelligent assets of its employees to overcome the performance differences among the employees in an organization to increase their ability. Managers in an organization should fully understand and try to figure out the concept of knowledge management systems to implement KMS more efficiently and effectively. Even though lots of previous knowledge management literature proposed several unique knowledge management process models, they have their own terms, process sequences, or different approaches. There are three common knowledge management processes: knowledge creation, knowledge store and search, knowledge sharing process. In this study, a new KM process theoretical framework based on the previous researches is developed. This study will guide to those who will adopt or implement of KMS in the organization in near future.

IT산업의 기술혁신 목적 중요도 및 성과에 관한 연구 : IPA 기법을 중심으로 (A Study on Importance and Performance of Technology Innovation in IT Industry using Importance-Performance Analysis)

  • A key factor of competitiveness of a firm is technology innovation including product and process innovation. This paper explores the importance and performance of innovation in IT industry across manufacturing and service business. Using importance-performance analysis based on a survey of Korean manufacturing and service firms, we find the characteristics of innovation in IT under the context of industry difference. Out study indicate that Korean IT firms need to recognize the importance of technology innovation and enhance the performance in some areas. In future research, we will expand the boundary of innovation into non-technology innovation as well as service-specific innovation.

우리나라 벤처기업의 네트워크 활동 특성 : 영향요인 및 성과간의 관계 분석 (Entrepreneurial Networking of High-tech Ventures in Korea : Relationships with Influencing Factors and Performance)

  • Recent entrepreneurship studies emphasize the importance of entrepreneurial activities of entrepreneurs. This study focuses entrepreneurial behaviors, especially entrepreneurial networking activities of Korean high-tech ventures. Networking activities can utilize external resources which are critical to success, with less resource commitment. This study examines the relationship between characteristics of entrepreneurial networking and performance, and analyses influencing factors of entrepreneurial networking activities. Based on the data from 55 new high-tech ventures in Korea, hypotheses that the characteristics of entrepreneurial networking are related to the performance of new high-tech ventures are tested using regression analysis and t-test. Major findings of this study are as follows: (1) entrepreneurial networking are related to the performance of new high-tech ventures, (2) significant differences are found in the characteristics of entrepreneurial networking between high- and low-performance firms, (3) characteristics of entrepreneurs and firm' technological capabilities are related to the degree of entrepreneurial networking activities. Finally, managerial and policy implications of the study are presented and future research directions are also suggested.

A Systematic Review of Big Data: Research Approaches and Future Prospects

  • This review paper aims at providing a systematic analysis of articles published in various journals and related to the uses and business applications of big data. The goal is to provide a holistic picture of the place of big data in the tourism industry. The reviewed articles have been selected for the period 2013-2020 and have been classified into 8 broad categories namely business strategy and firm performance; banking and finance; healthcare; hospitality; networks and telecommunications; urbanism and infrastructures; law and legal regulations; and government. While the categories are reflective of components of tourism industries and infrastructures, the meta-analysis is organized around 3 broad themes: preferred research contexts, conceptual developments, and methods used to research big data business applications. Main findings revealed that firm performance and healthcare remain popular contexts of research in the big data realm, but also demonstrated a prominence of qualitative methods over mixed and quantitative methods for the period 2013-2020. Scholars have also investigated topics involving the notions of competitive advantage, supply chain management, smart cities, but also ethics and privacy issues as related to the use of big data.

How VMI and Consignment Jointly Affect Supply Chain Performance

  • Purpose - Due to its potential to improve supply chain operations, supply chain collaboration has attracted significant attention from both academics and practitioners. This study focuses on VMI, in collaboration with consignment, and examines its impact on supply chain performance. Research design, data, and methodology - This study employs the analysis of mathematical models, formulated based on the proposed supply chain framework. Using numerical examples, it evaluates the performance of three supply chain systems: one including VMI and consignment, a consignment-only system, and a traditional system. Results - The combination of VMI and consignment produces greater supply chain benefits than the consignment-only and traditional systems. Whereas only the performance of the buyer improves with the consignment-only system, the system with VMI and consignment is beneficial to both the buyer and supplier. Conclusions - The results of this study reveal that the inclusion of the additional collaborative function of VMI makes consignment a better supply chain collaboration program. Future studies should examine issues regarding the testing of diverse collaboration programs and the building of a firm theoretical background.

중소기업의 기술혁신역량과 혁신성과의 관계: 성장단계별 차이 (A Relationship between Innovation Capability and Performance: Differences in Firm Development Stages)

  • 중소기업들은 기술혁신과 기술혁신역량 확보를 통해 불리한 자원규모나 경쟁여건을 극복하고 경쟁우위를 확보하기 위해 노력한다. 기존 연구들은 총체적인 기술혁신역량이나 특정 기술혁신역량 차원들에 초점을 두고 각 혁신역량과 성과간의 관계를 살펴보고 있다. 반면 성장단계별 기술혁신역량의 상대적 중요성이나 성과 영향의 차이와 같은 동태적 특성에 대한 관심은 미흡했다. 본 연구는 중소기업 기술혁신역량과 성과간의 성장단계별 차이를 실증적으로 살펴보고자 한다. 국내 중소제조기업들에 대한 설문조사 분석결과, 중소기업 기술혁신역량의 모든 세부 차원들은 혁신성과에 정의 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 그러나 성장단계별로는 기술혁신역량의 세부 차원별로 혁신성과에 상이한 영향관계를 보여준다. 기획역량은 성장기와 성숙기에서 혁신성과를 향상시키는 것으로 나타났다. 제조역량은 성숙기에서 혁신성과를 향상시키는 것으로 나타났다. 신제품개발역량과 사업화 역량은 모든 성장단계에서 혁신성과를 높이는데 기여하는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구는 중소기업들의 성장단계에 따라 실무적 기술혁신역량 강화를 위한 가이드라인을 제시한다. 또한 성장단계별 정책적 지원프로그램 설계와 운영을 위한 시사점을 제공한다. 마지막으로 본 연구의 의의와 연구한계 및 향후 연구과제들을 제시했다.
