  • A GPS/SDINS/ST(Star Tracker) integrated sensor algorithm is more robust than the GPS/SDINS and the ST/SDINS systems on exploration of other planets. Most of the advanced studies shown that GPS/SDINS/ST integrated sensor with centralized Kalman filter was more accurate than those 2 integrated systems. The system, however, consist of a single filter, it is vulnerable to defects on failed data. To improve the problem, we work out a study using federated Kalman filter(No-Reset mode) and centralized Kalman filter with adaptive measurement fusion which known as robustness on fault. The simulation results show that the debasing influences are reduced and the computation is enable at least 100Hz. Further researches that the initial calibration in accordance with observability and applying the exploration trajectory are needed.

  • Lately CBD methodologies like as CBD96, Catalysis, fusion, and SCIPIO have been introduced. These methodoloties has their own proprietary component reference model. Using proprietary reference model falls interoperability among methodologies. Furthermore it can cause confusion and difficulty for component developers. In this paper, we propose a integrated component meta-model for support consistency and interoperability among component designs. Also, we compare our proposed meta model to existing component reference model by using component's characteristics. We expect that it is easy to add new meta model elements and extends meta-model by using integrated component meta-model.

  • The optimization of the specifications of vertical silicon on insulator (SOI) slot optical waveguides suitable for integrated-optical biochemical sensors was performed through computational analysis of the confinement factor of the guided mode distributed in the slot in addition to analytical examination of the TE mode. The optimized specifications were confirmed based on sensitivity in terms of the change in the refractive index of the biochemical analyte. When the slot width, rail width, and height were set to 120 nm, 200 nm, and 320 nm, respectively, the confinement factor was evaluated to be about 56% and the sensitivity was at least 0.9 [RIU/nm].

  • This paper presents a method to integrate the multiple impressions of a finger for improving fingerprint verification performance. Small-sized sensor has advantage that it can be used in many application fields. However, sufficiently large impression of fingerprint is not available due to the small sensing area, and this degrades the verification performance of the system. The proposed method overcomes this problem by combining the information of fingerprints for enrollment. To combine the fingerprints, the alignment process is important first of all. In the proposed algorithm multiple impressions of a finger are coarsely aligned using the corresponding minutiae pairs and then are finely aligned using the Distance Map. We construct an integrated template for enrollment in aligned coordinate system Since this integrated template represents the enlarged finger region, the problem that is occurred by using small sensor can be overcome. Experimental results show that the use of the integrated template of multiple impressions improves the performance of the fingerprint verification system.

  • On ship, especially on large ship, the flexure deformation between Master (M)/Slave (S) Inertial Navigation System (INS) is a key factor which determines the accuracy of the integrated system of M/S INS. In engineering this flexure deformation will be increased with the added ship size. In the M/S INS integrated system, the attitude error between MINS and SINS cannot really reflect the misalignment angle change of SINS due to the flexure deformation. At the same time, the flexure deformation will bring the change of the lever arm size, which further induces the uncertainty of lever arm velocity, resulting in the velocity matching error. To solve this problem, a $H_{\infty}$ algorithm is proposed, in which the attitude and velocity matching error caused by deformation is considered as measurement noise with limited energy, and measurement noise will be restrained by the robustness of $H_{\infty}$ filter. Based on the classical "attitude plus velocity" matching method, the progress of M/S INS information fusion is simulated and compared by using three kinds of schemes, which are known and unknown flexure deformation with standard Kalman filter, and unknown flexure deformation with $H_{\infty}$ filter, respectively. Simulation results indicate that $H_{\infty}$ filter can effectively improve the accuracy of information fusion when flexure deformation is unknown but non-ignorable.

  • Purpose: This study is to present basic data on the Architectural planning of the college of medicine by arranging the functional zoning planning, functional unit planning, and circulation planning, based on the diversification of medical education and the changes of Learning spaces. Methods: This study was conducted by literature review on existing medical education method and learning space planning. And then on-site surveys and questionnaire were conducted on existing facilities. Results: The diversification of medical education has already been progressing for a long time, and the development of information technology is integrated into the learning space, and the evolution of the learning method and the flexibility of the learning space give effect to the change of the learning space. ① This study reconstructed the existing classification method of university facilities into the fuctional zoning method that combines the architectural concept of function and movement. ② The functions and functional units of the college of medicine according to the proposed functional zone were arranged, and the space required for the medical college was suggested. ③ The function and type of movement of medical college can be classified into professor/student fusion type, teaching and research separation type, and learning and learning shared space integrated arrangement type. In the future, it is necessary to consider fusion type or integrated arrangement type rather than separation type. Implications: the evolution of the learning method and the flexibility of the learning space give effect to the change of the learning space.

  • The goal of this work is to develop and test a robot-assisted surgery system for spinal fusion. The system is composed of a robot, a surgical planning system, and a navigation system. It plays the role of assisting surgeons for inserting a pedicle screw in the spinal fusion procedure. Compared to conventional methods for spinal fusion, the proposed surgical procedure ensures minimum invasion and better accuracy by using robot and image information. The robot plays the role of positioning and guiding needles, drills, and other surgical instruments or conducts automatic boring and screwing. Pre-operative CT images intra-operative fluoroscopic images are integrated to provide the surgeon with information for surgical planning. Some experiments employing the developed robotic surgery system are conducted. The experimental results confirm that the system is not only able to guide the surgical tools by accurately pointing and orienting the specified location, but also successfully compensate the movement of the patient due to respiration.

  • Aerosol Deposition Method (ADM) is a novel technique to grow ceramic thick films with high density and nano-crystal structure at room temperature. $^{1,2)}$ For these unique advantages of ADM, it would be applied to the fabrication process of 3-D integration ceramic modules effectively. However, it is critical to control the properties of starting powders, because a film formation through ADM is achieved by impaction and consolidation of starting powders on the substrates. We fabricated alumina thick films by ADM for the application to integral substrates for RF modules. When the as-received alumina powders were used as a starting material without any treatments, it was observed that the dielectric properties of as-deposited alumina films, such as relative permittivity and loss tangent, showed high dependency on the frequency. In this study, some techniques of powder pre-treatments to improve the dielectric properties of alumina thick films will be shown and the effects of starting powders on the properties of AD films will be discussed.
