The present study has been conducted to evaluate the experience in using peer-to-peer platforms and immersive technologies in the training of future masters of pharmacy from the Pharmaceutical Faculty of Bogomolets National Medical University, Ukraine. The selected participants were given the pre- and post-test containing multiple choice questions to assess the effectiveness of immersive technologies. Further, a self-designed structured questionnaire contained 10 questions with 5 options was delivered to consented participants through email and WhatsApp. The results of test presented that students attained an average of 26% in their pre-test while the average attained score post-test was 74% that showed a significant improvement with peer-to-peer platforms and virtual reality technology. The results of survey questions also showed an overall 86.73% satisfaction for the use of peer-to-peer platforms and virtual reality technology in the training of future masters of pharmacy. These results demonstrated that 90.81% showed agreement that they gained a high level of confidence through peer-to-peer platforms and virtual reality to handle patients in clinical practice. It can be concluded that participants of this study showed a strong agreement with positive experience in using peer-to-peer platforms and virtual reality technology in the training of future masters of pharmacy in medical lyceum.
Purpose: This study was to investigate the effect of a 12-week plyometric training on body composition, physical fitness and bone mineral density in obese male adolescents. Method: Twenty adolescent boys who are obese were randomly assigned to a control group (CON, n=10) or plyometic exercise group (EXE, n=10). The EXE group was performed 3 times per week for 12 weeks. The body composition, physical fitness, and bone mineral density were measured before and after the 12 weeks intervention. Results: The results of this study were as follows: i) In EXE group, the fat mass was significantly decreased between pre and post, whereas the difference of the body weight, BMI, and LBM were not significant. ii) Among the physical fitness factors, grip strength, muscular endurance, and 2 0m shuttle running were significantly improved but flexibility did not show any significant difference. iii) The bone mineral density was significantly improved between pre and post in EXE group. Conclusion: These results suggested that plyometric training for 12 weeks may be effective in improving body composition, physical fitness, and bone mineral density in obese adolescents. Further implications were discussed.

The development of wireless communication technology has led to the underutilization of radio spectra. To address this limitation, an intelligent cognitive radio network was developed. Specific emitter identification (SEI) is a key technology in this network. However, in realistic non-cooperative scenarios, the system may detect signal classes beyond those in the training database, and only a few labeled signal samples are available for network training, both of which deteriorate identification performance. To overcome these challenges, a meta-learning-based open-set identification system is proposed for SEI. First, the received signals were pre-processed using bi-spectral analysis and a Radon transform to obtain signal representation vectors, which were then fed into an open-set SEI network. This network consisted of a deep feature extractor and an intrinsic feature memorizer that can detect signals of unknown classes and classify signals of different known classes. The training loss functions and the procedures of the open-set SEI network were then designed for parameter optimization. Considering the few-shot problems of open-set SEI, meta-training loss functions and meta-training procedures that require only a few labeled signal samples were further developed for open-set SEI network training. The experimental results demonstrate that this approach outperforms other state-of-the-art SEI methods in open-set scenarios. In addition, excellent open-set SEI performance was achieved using at least 50 training signal samples, and effective operation in low signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) environments was demonstrated.
Objectives: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effects of assertiveness training on assertiveness behavior, problem solving ability, and interpersonal relationships of nursing college students. Methods: A nonequivalent pre- and post-test experimental design was used. This study included 15 subjects in the experimental group, and 15 subjects in the control group, who were sophomore nursing students recruited from Gachon Nursing School located in Inchon City. The experimental group received 8 series of a ready planned and reorganized assertiveness training course, while the control group did not receive any training. The 120 minute training session was held on a weekly basis. The Maan-Whitney U Test was done to identify the changes in scores of assertiveness behavior, problem solving ability, and interpersonal relationships between the experimental and the control groups, after the assertiveness training. The data were collected before and after each part of the assertiveness training. The data collection period was from May 7 to July 10, 2001. Results: 1) The assertiveness behavior scores of the nursing students who participated in the assertiveness training were higher than those of the nursing students who did not participate in the assertiveness training. 2) The self problem solving evaluation scores of the nursing students who received assertiveness training were higher than those of the nursing students who did not receive the training. 3) The interpersonal relationship scores of the nursing students who participated in the assertiveness training were higher than those of the nursing students who did not participate in the assertiveness training. Conclusion: The study results showed that the assertiveness training was effective in promoting assertiveness behavior, problem solving ability, and changes in interpersonal relationships in nursing college students. It is suggested that well designed strategies are needed in the further studies in order to expand and apply the assertiveness training to other nursing student and nurse cohorts.
Aim: To evaluate the relationship between pre-operative CA-125 levels and myometrial invasion in patients with early-stage endometrioid-type endometrial cancer. Materials and Methods: Two-hundred and sixty patients were diagnosed with endometrial cancer between January 2007 and December 2012. Of these, 136 patients with stage 1 endometrioid histologic-type and documented pre-operative serum CA-125 levels were included in the study. Age, preoperative CA-125 level, histologic grade, surgical grade, and presence of deep myometrial invasion were recorded. Additionally, 16, 20, and 35 IU/ml cutoff values were used and compared to evaluate the relationship between pre-operative CA-125 levels and myometrial invasion. Results: The average serum CA-125 level was $35.4{\pm}36.7$ in patients with deep myometrial invasion, and $21.5{\pm}35.8$ in cases without deep myometrial invasion. The relationship between the presence of deep myometrial invasion and CA-125 cut-off values (16, 20, 35 IU/ml) was statistically significant, although the correlation was weak (p<0.05). When the relationship between 16, 20 and 35 IU/ml CA-125 cut-off values and the presence of deep myometrial invasion was studied, specifity and sensitivity values were identified as: 0.60-0.68 for 16 IU/ml; 0.73-0.48 for 20 IU/ml; and 0.89-0.33 for 35 IU/ml. The sensitivity of 16 IU/ml cut-off value was higher when compared to other values. Conclusions: This study demonstrates that preoperative serum CA-125 values maybe used as a predictive test in patients with early stage endometrioid-type endometrium cancer, and as a prognostic factor alone. Further studies should be conducted to identify different CA-125 cut-off values in patients with low risk endometrial cancer.
Purpose: This study was aimed to evaluate the effect of progressive muscle relaxation training using biofeedback on perceived stress, stress response, immune response and climacteric symptoms, Method: This was a crossover, pre-post test design, The study subjects are 36 middle-aged women who were selected at 2 public health centers, The independent variable was Biofeedback training for 4 weeks, twice a week and home training for 4 weeks, Dependent variables were perceived stress, stress response, immune response, and climacteric symptoms measured with Hildtch's scale (1996), Result: Progressive muscle relaxation training using biofeedback was not effective in reducing perceived stress, but it was shown to be effective in reducing physiological stress responses such as pulse rate and EMG, Though blood pressure and skin conductance were repeatedly down, and skin temperature slowly increased, there were no statistically significant differences. Progressive muscle relaxation training using biofeedback was not effective in reducing serum cortisol, enhancing immune responses, or decreasing climacteric symptoms. Conclusion: The findings point to a pressing need for further, well-controlled and designed research with consideration in selection of subjects and instruments, frequency of measurements, the sampling method, and intervention modalities.
Objectives: This study aimed to evaluate the impact of a training course on pharmacovigilance for future doctors of Korean medicine (DKM). Methods: In 2020, a pharmacovigilance training course was conducted for 57 senior students of a Korean medicine (KM) college, and its impact to the students were assessed in terms of the knowledge, attitudes, and perceptions of these students at three-time points: pre-training, post-training, and 4-6 months after the end of the training. Results: A total of 38 students completed the survey. The average score from the knowledge test increased significantly after training compared to prior to the training (5.47±2.140, 6.61±1.001, respectively, p<0.001) and was maintained until the final survey (6.61±1.220). The rate of correct answers to most of the knowledge test questions increased after the training but decreased in the final survey. In terms of attitudes, self-confidence in causality assessment (2.63±1.025, 4.58±0.826, p<0.001) and spontaneous reporting (2.08±1.050, 4.74±0.446, p<0.001) significantly increased after the training and then slightly decreased (3.92±1.171, 4.40±0.755). The perception level was high prior to the training, and this pattern was maintained throughout the study period. Students responded that pharmacovigilance education was necessary for DKM after training, and for the undergraduates of KM colleges. Conclusions: This study shows that this pharmacovigilance training course is effective for students majoring in KM but that retraining is required at least 6 months after the initial training. Further follow-up studies are needed to ensure that students actively participate in spontaneous reporting after graduation, and continuous education should be provided to graduates.
Language Models such as BERT has been an important factor of deep learning-based natural language processing. Pre-training the transformer-based language models would be computationally expensive since they are consist of deep and broad architecture and layers using an attention mechanism and also require huge amount of data to train. Hence, it became mandatory to do fine-tuning large pre-trained language models which are trained by Google or some companies can afford the resources and cost. There are various techniques for fine tuning the language models and this paper examines three techniques, which are data augmentation, tuning the hyper paramters and partly re-constructing the neural networks. For data augmentation, we use no-answer augmentation and back-translation method. Also, some useful combinations of hyper parameters are observed by conducting a number of experiments. Finally, we have GRU, LSTM networks to boost our model performance with adding those networks to BERT pre-trained model. We do fine-tuning the pre-trained korean-based language model through the methods mentioned above and push the F1 score from baseline up to 89.66. Moreover, some failure attempts give us important lessons and tell us the further direction in a good way.
Purpose: This study was to investigate the effects of respiratory rehabilitation training on the respiratory functions of hospitalized cervical spinal cord injury patients. Methods: One group pre and post test design was used. Subjects were 20 cervical spinal cord injury inpatients of the national rehabilitation center. Training program consisted of air cumulation training, manual assisted coughing training, and abdominal breathing. Trained rehabilitation nurse implemented 20 minutes program twice a day for 4 weeks. Respiratory function was measured as peak coughing flow rate, and perceived respiratory difficulty after activity on wheel chair for 30 minutes and during speaking and singing. Perceived respiratory difficulty was measured with modified Borg scale. Also content analysis was done with the result of open ended question about subjective feeling about training. All variables were measured 3 times before, 2weeks and 4 weeks after the program. Results: Peak coughing flow rate significantly improved after compared to before training. Also all three perceived respiratory difficulty variables decreased significantly after training. In the content analysis, 'it's easier to cough up phlegm' was the most frequent answered subjective feeling. 'Sound at speaking and coughing became louder', 'respiratory volume increased', and 'comfortable chest feeling' were frequent answered subjective feeling, in order. Conclusion: Although it is preliminary since no control group, respiratory rehabilitation training was found to be effective to improve respiratory function in terms of peak coughing flow rate, perceived respiratory difficulty, and subjective feeling. It is necessary further systemic research to investigate the effects of respiratory rehabilitation training.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the effect of a simulation-based practice on clinical performance and problem solving processes for nursing students. Method: The study used a one group pre-post test design. Students experienced a simulation-based practice that included team base learning, skill training, taking a high-fidelity simulation with SimMan 3G, and also being debriefed for 12 weeks (August 2010 to December 2010). The pre-test and post-test were conducted to compare the differences in knowledge, clinical nursing skills, and problem solving processes. Result: After students had received the simulation-based practice, they showed statistically significant higher knowledge (t=14.73, p<.001) and clinical nursing skills (t=15.47, p<.001) than before. However, there was no significant difference in the problem solving process score (t=1.53, p=.127). Conclusion: This study showed that knowledge and clinical nursing skills were significantly improved by the simulation-based practice. Further research would be required to identify how the problem solving process that uses simulation-based practice could be developed further.
